Oh man, why are all the moves done with the same commands? When I want to do the decapitating [attack+forward] move, I have the same chance that Mr. Night Elf will actually do the fast [attack+forward] move or the spinning [attack+forward] move. That is unbelievably dumb.

woah mounteds need to get nerfed on warlords(origonal) one javelin thrower owns a mounted but on this its the other way around! and why cant we buy a horse change weaprons(i realy miss throwing spears into my enemies hearts) and hire horsemen :( but i still say genius the first game ive seen that cobines action fighting and strategy!

OMG... bigest post i've made!! :D And oh yes, i forgot to mention the horsemen!! They are deadly! And you put them in "medium" levels?! I'm thinking how difficult the hard levels must be...

the music is good with the violin (violin is spelled wrong) kind of reminds me of halo, which has the best theme music ever. it gets 5/5 just for that, but its to much like achillies..so i suppose 4/5..still good though

hm... better than Achilles, in some poits:
1- environment
2-diferent attack skills
but, the attacks are all in the same button, wich makes it a bit confusing.
I think it's a good thing the part one can chose the way to go - seen it in another game - it's a good thing.
But, (another "but"), again it gets overwhelming when there are multiple enemies at once. Oh and the first boss!! omg... we are crushed, if we don't take at least an archer!! 4/5 for the improvements but, it needs a bit more work!

eugh, i just got mauled by about 5 horsemen, seriously is that a medium level because i only managed to kill 1 . . .
turning to nearest enemy makes you venerable on the other side = sucky
game play seems to be boring to me . . .

A substantial improvement on Achilles...I actually enjoy playing this game ;P! Seriously though, it's a good game, but I have 2 criticism: 1) There should be a distance between your henchmen and you where their main objective is not to attack enemies but to get closer to you (too often they walk off and get killed fighting by themselves!) and 2) The distance counter seems pointless since you can't leave before you kill everyone...wouldn't a kill-bar make more sense?

Oh, on another note I think there should be a way to control which forward/backwards moves you are doing.
IE: 4,5,6 reserved for forward moves (4 still being normal attack as well) and 7,8,9 backwards moves.

This is actually the biggest improvement from achilles. Achilles was an unfortunate game.... this is an epicly awesome game.

Some decent art during the story text, but the story was totally skippable. Also graphics are embarrassingly ugly and the combat gameplay is the same crap from achillies.

It's similar to achillies yes, but much better. Never liked acillies and this has really got me going. Here as long as you keep your head you shoudn't ever die, and that makes it lots of fun.

Henchmen are far too vulnerable, unless used only in the hardest areas as extra lives of sort... one-time-use men more like it. Every time you come to near end of level, enemies almost never spawn in front of you, always from behind. This causes henchmen to die inevitably. This and gameplay is why 3/5.

So, you played achilles, decided to make a warlord clone? first all: The king counts as a henchman? nice ^^, second. Job well done considering the game was allready made :) (im serious, it is a good sequel to ACHILLES :)) 4/5 for not being what it should be.

Definitely better than Achilles. And kudos to whoever decided to put it in the Warlords universe; awesome choice. Just wish that I didn't keep getting ganged up on by all those mounted soldiers...
And yes, definitely needs badges.

Better than Achilles, but that doesn't say much. I like the elements of gradual improvement, but the game still suffers from many of the flaws Achilles had. Sometimes it feels more like I have no option other than to just throw myself bluntly at the enemy, especially with bosses. Several enemies on screen at once completely overwhelm, though not as much as in Achilles.

In my opinion a great improvement on the earlier Achilles. Combat system isn't perfect yet, but it plays nicely. Could use better looking heroes, and an ability management tool. 4/5

Same combat as Achillies, right down to enemies hitting you after they're dead and the bosses that can really only be damaged after you die. None of that 'find a move that works for each boss' crap for you. Love how you even tell the player 'careful! if you get different attack moves for the same buttons you won't be able to tell which you'll perform' and then proceed to give the heroes every skill in the game in the last level so combat becomes completely random. what a joke.

Warlords doesn't have night elves, although it does have Dark elves. Drow, you know? Spider gods and junk.
Night elves are from warcraft, and nothing else that I can think of.

FYI #1. The games does have a pause - press SPACE. However it will not pause enemies currently on the screen. It will stop new enemies appearing though. FYI#2 Those who say they have had 6 or more enemies on the screen are lying.. the engine caps at 5 onscreen enemies. FYI#3 Blocking is 100% effective against cavalry units. FYI#4 Walking to the right is what brings on new enemies. If swamped, don't walk any further to the right...
