i like how this game throws you in with no controls, and how even the controls in the description are shit. shiiiit. SHIT. SHIT shitshit. :D

The engine is great and the combat is fun, (but maybe a little easy). It just needs a little more gameplay depth...missions, perhaps. A reputation indicator would be great...tired of chasing down ships only to find out at the last minute if they are hostile or friendly. (Seems there's no way to tell.) Do ports close down due to reputation? How do I tell what ports belong to what factions? Lots of little things like that could be fixed to make this a terrific, 5-star game.

This could be very very great. Even this startup is very good and well programmed. The fights are smooth and flawless. The enemys got a good AI. I love this game even now. If you add more deepth it will become a big impact.

needs a some more work to get it polished up, the camera shifts are slightly annoying, clipping through things is a pain, and pirates need to be adjusted.

This game is so handist! I'm left handed and therefore can't use the arrow key buttons without difficulty. Add WASD
Help bring rate this up for it to be noticeable :)

PLEASE continue development on this game. It's beautiful and fun, just incomplete. Honestly the graphics were more than I'd dared hope for. The gameplay is pretty solid, but it needs some tweaks. 1) Some sort of help to know how & where to buy low/sell high would make trading a viable profession. 2) A "Reputation Meter" could help further draw a line between trader & scallywag. Maybe ships only attack on site if your reputation is below a certain point. 3)Just like everyone said, quests. 4) TAKE THE iPHONE AD OFF so you can see how much money you have. 5) Make it so upgrades actually change the look of your ship in a noticeable way. Also I wasn't sure if you get any money for trading in your ship, but it can be assumed you're not just sinking it off the coast. Show how much trade-in value I get out of my ship (assuming this isn't already in place. I couldn't see it but I'm also kind of dense.) PLEASE make this into the amazing game it could be!

Ok another bug for you. Ships spawning next to and around your own. I've come close to death 2 times because 2 ships with 5 cannons and a million HP spawn on either side of me. I'm giving it 5/5 and am looking forward to updates coming out hopefully soon.

Everyone is making great unity games that have potential but they don't make it better like add more stuff into it or make a storyline which makes it quite dressing because no one has done this

Great game! I'd love to see a little more depth to it. Maybe some way of doing missions, stats, and even a bit more RPG elements, but the gameplay is addictive as is! The UI could be a little better: hard to tell how much $$$ you have, what type of ship you are in, etc. One thing I disliked was the enemy spawns. One minute you're fighting a sloop, the next minute 3 man'o wars....where were they 30 seconds ago? hiding behind a wave? In any event, I'll be playing this one again and again. With a little more work this could be like the original (top down) GTA w/ Pirates.

Can someone answer this for me? Is it cheaper to upgrade your ship bit by bit or buy new ships when you can afford them?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Some control issues. I'd definitely like to be able to see the strength of the ship coming at you offscreen. But a good game with a lot of potential. I definitely agree with all the suggestions by EPR89.

anpther thing if u do add more ships have them retreat if ur ship retreats dont let them sit bk with the enemy and get ripped apart sure be defencive on the retreat so as to not get waxed while leaving battle but dont just strand them

Hitting the tab key to make the map appear is good..being able to hit it again to make the map disappear would be better.

For being a free web-based game this is great. Obviously there is a lot that can be done and added: quests, more control of cannons, first person mode, etc. Ability to change view would be nice. There is a bug: when trying to reach port the ship will only dock when in the widest view. Overall great game!

I think the beginning is supposed to be your end but after you die, you go back to the beginning of your life as a sailor. This game is really a pretty good beginning, but some grammar help and more explanation and options could make this a really enjoyable game.

F***! I can't play this anymore. It's my dream game. But you ruined it by ****ing all over the player. Why did my ship slow to an almost stop when passing 2 bigger ships? I'm so close to a town but I can't get there because ships have super mega gravity abilities that cause you to almost stop. You ruin the fluidity of the game by doing this. I know it's just a game, but I've always wanted to play one just like it. Just not so frustrating.

reminds me of those old text trading games (taipan, space trader, etc.). does need some more explanation, but once i figured it all out, it's actually a fun game. salvage the booty from other ships, sell them at the ports. buy low, sell high. looking forward to an update....

I couldn't play it. The control is awful. Sometimes you need to press an arrow key twice before turning. And from first battle I already knew this game will get highly repetitive. Turn -> shoot -> turn opposite way to evade enemy shots -> turn -> shoot -> evade etc.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
No explanation when you start the game. Nothing. You can't control the direction (up/down) of the shoot. No history. There is a lot of game of this type that are better finished. Just because it is a Unity3D does not make it better. It feels like a half-cooked game that was served too early.

Ok no. Just no. I hate it now. I have an epic battle for 3min only getting hit because someone thought it would be a good idea to rape my ability to turn after I fire sometimes. Almost dead thanks to bad game design I'm rewarded with nothing after he dies. How am I to repair now? Also: WASD. Not everyone is left handed...

Visually this is a pretty game. I'm not sure what I'm suppose to do though. I read the instructions and description and I'm still not sure of whats going on. also, perhaps some options on controls: I'm more accustomed to using wasd for directions and a mouse to shoot...I notice I can shoot with mouse but not steer with wasd. 2/5

I don't know why you decided to violently fist turning in your game, but I'd like to be able to turn when needed. Also I don't care if its wind or baby freaking jebuz, STOP slowing down mah ship to a crawl! And controlling camera with right click panning would be brilliant thank you. Btw, I LOVE this game :D
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I like this game, but it has some annoying quirks. For one, I stop turning when I receive or give damage. Being able to tab in and out of the map would be great too. Other than that, maybe a slightly larger storage on the first ship (which I am currently upgrading) :-)

This is a great game as is. Needs a storyline and side quests. Consider adding classical elements like ship-to-ship boarding, wind, and treasure hunting. Add some unique named ships for players to obtain, ex. Nina, Santa Maria, Black Pearl, Bounty, Queen Anne.
Really enjoyed so far 4/5.

Decent game. But it still has a lot of potential. Add optional missions (treasure hunting, finding legendary ships (Black Pearl?), letter of marque,...), WSAD controls, make the camera controllable, and display the prices of goods visible in the map, so that you can plan your route. YOou could also add expert settings, like crew managment or, reefs and currents or maybe even sea beasts. Keep it up! 4/5

well, i do not understand why all sailing games i saw in the last years, do NOT use a wind system. i mean, sailing, that the traveling with WIND and sails, and it comes from one direction...
here again all ships do have a sort of engine or and individual stream of air, that always comes from behind? Even the first version of "Pirates!" in 1987 (!) had changing wind, and you could change reef the sails. Apart from that very well done 3/5

The best Unity game I've seen yet. This is my first favorited game since I joined. Ships, sailing, mercantilism, death on the high seas, pretty crazy. Appealing music, good visuals, I have a few issues with camera control, but the map suffices. The only real complaint I have is opening, I didn't know what the hell was going on, but suffice to say, just kill 'till you die, then it makes sense.
