As soon as a game is in 3D it seems to get a high rating regardless of quality. This game isn't finished and hardly worth playing for more than 5 minutes, as such it cannot deserve a high rating in my book.

Great job on getting started on this, but you have to move the App Store add. Also, add a tutorial or something with a little explanation. Also, if you could add some more boat/combat mechanics, that would be great (i.e. change speed, change shot type, etc.).

There seems to be something (money sometimes) that is blocked by the "iphone" app store ad. What's up with that? Also sometimes when I turn it don't turn, which is annoying when I'm trying to dodge cannonballs.

Please get the god awful 'Apps store' advert OUT OF THE WAY OF MY MONEY!!! @TheIceCreamMan No, it's more like Sid Myer's Pirates.
Great game though.

INSTANT five stars. Withing *3 seconds* of pressing play, I was actually playing the game, sinking ships (and a little shocked that my crew were smart enough to *know* which side of the ship to fire from to hit the enemy) and having *fun*. *No* tutorial is better and more effective than actually playing the game and learning from it. Looking forward to playing the rest of it.

As many have said it needs more work. But the foundations are there and this game has alot of potential, read peoples comments and try your best to make it work. The graphics and controls are fab, just extra's like camera view, speed control, more detailed trade system.
One thing I would like in particular is a pick up/drop off system where you can take a peek into what your fallen foes have dropped and decide whether you want to drop some cargo you already own to pick up whatever it is your enemy has dropped

Nice game. Very enjoyable. Only problem I have that really annoys me is that it seems to be laggy, and sometimes makes me unable to steer for a short period of time, which makes it impossible to dodge canonballs, making combat a lot more frustrating.
Otherwise, keep up the good work and keep improving this game (Y)

I had difficulties finding out the beginning is a preview... No help and this bloody ad that hides the money you have.
Repairing expensives ships is too expensive: with 20k I don't even repair my corvette!!! Cheap ones are way easier to earn money, when I changed of ship, I lost a lot... and my old one is just lost as sunk... This is bad!!!

Helllllp - I'm stuck in a big circle that my ship can't get out of, constantly being attacked by smaller ships. Wtf do I do? How do I get out of the starting area?!

I know that UNITY is future of web games, its ok, but here on Kongregate are many Linux users so please just add some information that game needs Unity player, don't waste our time.

Wow! Unity is your friend! Picking up on a couple of previous complaints ... move the fruggin' AppStore ad, please!
More constructively... it'll be hard work getting a viewpoint manipulator into the battles (won't it?!?) - I'd suggest giving the tracking arrows (when your coming into a battle) a little more info - like orientation of the ship you're attacking and possibly wind direction. Also, ship orientation on the map would be nice (+1 for tab exit!) - that way you could at least work out where the hell you are after a battle!
Those should be straight forward .... bigies are the ones mentioned by others:
1) Ability to find out the trading costs of the goods before you enter ports (see 3);
2) Barrel's of loot give information of what they contain before you pic them up (see 3));
3) Those last two points are what gave Elite (the best trading / shooting the c#$p out of everyone game in existence) the edge .... you're ooooh so close with this - but with pirates (which is kind of a win!)

Decent game. But it still has a lot of potential. Add optional missions (treasure hunting, finding legendary ships (Black Pearl?), letter of marque,...), WSAD controls, make the camera controllable, and display the prices of goods visible in the map, so that you can plan your route. YOou could also add expert settings, like crew managment or, reefs and currents or maybe even sea beasts. Keep it up! 4/5make them provide support f

No Linux support, no game.
Please, STOP F*CKING THE WEB! USE STANDARDS ONLY! (at least, facto standards). You are widely worse than microsoft, f*cking net neutrality.

wow. fun, but also a train wreck. Whats the point of the opening sequence? Couldnt you make it clear your being ambushed and supposed to lose... so that you build back up your empire... you know, a story? Subtitles so that options make sense? Iphone ad over information-- seriously? Come on. Also the detection on when leaving a fight is terrible. Controls also lose focus a lot.

Theres no tutorial. You dont know what you have to do or what you can do.
I tried to win the first fight about 5 times till i realized you cant win. Its really annoying.
Theres ingame advertisement that covers your money display. well.....i dont know why this game got 3.71 stars ...

From a technical simulation perspective, I really think that adding wind strength and direction would add a lot to the game. Getting upwind of the enemy was the number one strategy for wooden ships.
Great game, love the gameplay and graphics.

Could be a great Pirates clone, but there's still a lot of work to do.
Right now it is just a little more than a graphics demo, which are btw very nice...

This reminds me of Monkey Island 3, not only the boat fights, but also some graphics, such as maps, look as traced from it.
