Great game. I'd just like to point out to people suggesting multiplayer that such a game already exists. Search Roadeo. One player players as the car, one as the road.

why don't you make a you are the road 2.0 another version, as in you add other stuff to this game but make it a different version. so this one is still in the molyjam contest. so you would just need to make another version of this, with the things others would like.

This game made me feel like a sociopath for playing racing games... everyone is blowing up around me and I never feel ashamed or depressed...

The AI in this game is fascinating to watch. Even in the complete lack of trials, they are fixated on being the best, trying to push the others out of the way and more often than not only destroy themselves in the process. Upon reaching the uncontested height of power, with no one left to step on, they continue to drive themselves into destruction as they spiral out of control. The Human Condition incarnate, I say.

So let me get this straight. This a game where you have cars that have different colours and moods. The aim is to be the last one standing. You are the road and you have to make the cars fall off the road and they blow up. The cars can also just drive into each other and then they commit suicide as well as blowing up the other cars. THIS GAMES IS AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the most depressing game I've ever seen. You come into this world leading 8 cars whose drivers are all mentally challenged. Their sole goal is to follow you as closely as possible without falling off this small track for them to occupy. Violently, they jockey and fight amongst one another to be closest to you, often murdering each other with little to no provocation, as you watch in horror. Finally, with one left you leave only a straight track to keep it alive, only to see it fall behind because of its lack of motorskills until it dies, alone and rejected

If you do ever do a sequel or expansion version i would love to see a replay of the destruction, maybe with a Fast Forward button for all the times you had to wait for it to hit the right speed. It would be the best if the replay could have different view points to get the greatest angle

Suggestions for the further development and achievements: RGB - Make only Red, Green And Blue cars survive until speed reaches 100; CMYK - the same, but with Cyan, Magenta, Yellow And Black cars (the last one should be added therefore); Traffic light - Save Red, Yellow And Green Cars; Anarcho-Communism - Leave Red and Black cars alive; Ireland - Make Green, White (must be added) And Orange cars survive and form the horizontal row in this exact order (many simular %countryname achievements% can be done this way, I juct gave an example); Acrobat - make the car do a triple somersault with a hazard; On the edge - get the car almost fallen from the road and returned back to the race. I`m out of ideas now.

Simple? Yes, definitely. Fun? Hell yes! Possible potential? Without a doubt! Addictive? I barely have time to write this review without needing another 'road fix'. This game can easily be one of the most fun time wasters that I have had the privileged to play. I can easily see Duckets adding to the game making it far more challenging (e.g., just trying to knock off the 'elite' drivers off the road in so many miles or keep the visually impaired driver on the road for so many miles), to exciting (e.g., pressing the B key drops down boosts, E key explosives, etc.). I really hope that Duckets decides to make this a complete game from the 48hour gemstone.

I keep blowing up all the cars and it won't give me the badge; it's mindlessly simple to do, but I'd still want the badge.

The game seems to fail to finish when, after restarting from a already started race, you kill all the cars. It just keeps going with no other way out than to clik on Restart. Not being able to close the race declaring you winner would probably prevent you from getting a well earned badge, if you finally decide to add more.
Bug or not, it's still a funny and, I must add, very addicting game.
