The inaccessible treasures at every shopkeeper level are taunting me!(some actually have artifacts, like eyes) That said, some levels have monsters that are trapped, either by walls or by treasure chest/bags. Are these on purpose?

Considering this is the developers first attempt at flash gaming I think this had been an outstanding display of how to make a simple yet effective gaming development work. While it's not perfect, you have to support and congratulate him on an outstanding effort and no doubt we will see more fantastic games from this upcoming developer star in the making. 5/5 !

Will you please please please make a sequel? And maybe have the magic more useful as well? I hope I'm not the only one who noticed that my attack power never was any more/less than about 5 or 10 damage give or take than the strike spells.......

Some say using the spells is painful, it is, but I found a way to make it slightly easier. If you want to use a spell on an enemy, stand in the square next to them. Click and drag the spell you want to use over the enemy, step into them, and release the spell. I usually cast immediately after my character attacks, if you cast immediately as you step into them your first attack will be the spell. Hope this helps.

Hi, enchanted cave developer here! I'm working on an Android port for this right now so you have any suggestions of things you want fixed let me know on my kong profile, website or @dustinaux on Twitter! I'm already going to add in-game help tips for first play-throughs, improving magic formulas, adding a non-artifacts sell button, and adding a low-life warning. Am I missing anything important? Thanks for playing! :D
UPDATE 1/16/2014: Enchanted Cave on mobile has been released! This version offers many improvements to the original. (Android - http://bit.ly/1fBA3kR) (iOS - http://bit.ly/1itGzuu)
Thanks everyone for their suggestions to improve the game :)

In order to actually get somewhere in the game, you have to avoid most battles. You don't level up by fighting. It's all about equipment and gems. So fight monsters that are in the way of your path, in the way of chests, and definitely in the way of gems and artifacts. Only go out of the way to kill a monster if you can one-hit kill it (for extra gold). Don't be afraid to use your escape wings!

Tip
1- At the first lvs, focus on attack.
2- Focus on defend but have attack when you have less than 60% health!
3- Use MP ONLY for healing! (most bttl ends with 1-4 hits so just heal instead of use mp for fighting.)
4- DO NOT ENGAGE battle when you have less than 50 health cause you RISK the chance to start over from SCRATCH!
5- If you have alot of money, Pick route to most chest/bag with the least monster that you have to kill to last longer in the game!
6- Click on the chest/bag of money to see if the item inside really worth going for. Chest show you which kind is inside while bag shows you how much money inside!
7-Have Fun!

Shopkeeper "The floors below are tough, you may want to stock up on potions."
Me "IF SOME JERK WOULD STOP CHARGING 900 GOLD COINS FOR 1, MAYBE I WOULD!!!"

@carlxtian, if the save won't delete, you can just save floor in floor. If you die, you can just load the previous game. The save system is to you exit the game, and come back later. A nice move, developer

@hektikbeatz you're not supposed to reach floors 200 and 300, the achievements are for "passing" by a total of 200 floors and 300 floors, got it?

That shopkeeper must kick serious ass in order for him to beat me down every ten levels. Is there an elevator I don't know about?

Just figured out why I (and others) aren't getting badges unlocked — Chrome blocks Flash by default, so you'll need to allow Kong to use Flash (icon at the end of the URL bar) in order for Kong to recognise badges being earned. Hope this helps!

note for new players, dont kill everything, i thought there was level ups and stuff, but there aren't, only kill what you need for treasure, the next floor ect.

TIP: At the last floor you can use healing while you´re killing the boss, buy the anihillator to finish him, when u finish him you will got a nice surprise

Minor complaint: Magic is difficult to use in battle. Instead of dragging the spell to your character hotkeys or simply clicking the spell would be much preferred. There are mage items, but I never use them because of this difficulty. Also, thanks for the updates from the beta launch. Brilliant game. 5/5

Somedays, it's just time for a dungeon crawl, no muss no fuss, just smash monsters, get treasure. I found this game well executed on almost every front (dragging the magic over enemies was a bit clunky and annoying, but other than that the controls were perfect.), and while it was a bit short for my taste, it was absoulutely enjoyable. 5/5, I hope to see more (Perhaps a sequel with 500+ floors?)

all in all a nice game for the simplicity and time used to create it. did it 3 complete runs (1-100). that said i still have some smaller complaints: 1st: magic is nearly unuseable, esp. battle magic. 2nd mana "regeneration" is too weak for later levels (might be on purpose). 3rd: agility seems to be useless, as u cant beat a golem (6 agi) 3 times (with 75 agi) before he hits u 2nd time. said thing. 4th: damage taken only slightly depends on own armor and resistivity crossing a certain level. HM.

A short survival guide for those that have problems with the game.
#1 Don't fight needless battles. If the monster isn't guarding something you really need, don't bother with it.
#2 At each level locate and prioritize your targets. For me it's Escape Wings -> Artefacts -> Gems -> chests with spells (If you have eye of wealth to see those)
#3 If it's getting too hard, just Escape Wing from the game and start over. To get more gems and artefacts on the same way.
Remember it makes you start from second to last deepest shop you reached. Which always happens to be at X9 level. Don't want to raise the difficulty? Warp at X8

That feeling when you pay 1300 in gold for something and then the very next chest you open has the exact same thing in it.

hmm running around a dungeon full of monsters with no pants on should really lead to getting hit hard...but somehow nothing aims at my exposed legs

That low-life warning would of been really nice! Spent maybe an hour or two getting up to around level ~50 dungeon, forgot to look at my HP going into a fight, BAM. Back at the Level 9 shop. FU, lazy self.

Selling all the junk is quite a chore. I could do well without the confirmation for selling items. Just drag it on the sell and sold. Or auto-sell all that crap.
Regarding that game I am looking for: It was a DOS (maybe Windows?) Freeware game. Nothing fancy from a company. It is not Mystic Towers. ;)

*approaches Final Boss* This is it. The big man himself...here we go. *begins fight* Man, I hope I don't die, that woul- *defeats him in less than 10 seconds*
...that was somewhat anti-climatic.

A few tips. 1) You keep all artefacts, spells and gem boosts from one game to the next. 2) Unwanted artefacts can be sold. 3) The money you end one game with is what you'll start the next with. 4) If you're at a shop and don't think you can make it to the next, sell all items, potions and unwanted artefacts to generate money, escape wings out and restart.

lol got two eyes and a broadsword (special item that you can keep forever) on the very first floor (not the shop floor) on a brand new game...Sweet

6) As soon as you get one of the healing spell, forget about offensive ones. Use your mana exclusively to get back your health points.7) In the shop, give priority to healing potions because they are rare in the dungeon when there is a high probability that you will get the item that you want from a chest (unless you are at level 99 of course ;)8)Which item is the best to equip? Well, physical resistance is more important than magic defense, and 100 is the max for any elemental defense, so an object which grants a small protection in all categories is better than one that gives a huge amount for a single element. Though, if you enjoy to switch items in between every fight and choose the latter, I won't scold you...9) Now, have fun! :D

12ESP3CT, you need the shining gear :3. Makes the game more fun when you only keep SOME items, makes you feel more progressive. Also, the no-level thing was a AWESOME twist, only thing I hate about this game is the chests at the shopowner, I NEED THAT WEAPON O>E
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It would be helpful to have equipment sets to switch between when dealing with enemies that use magic and others that use melee, or if there are some enemies you mostly need to outspeed.

@Emperorerror - Although it isn't a perfect system, to use an attacking spell, enter into a battle and drag the spell onto the battle. A little meter will appear under your character, slowly filling with red (It takes slightly longer than a normal attack time to fill up, almost guaranteeing that your enemy will hit you). Once it's fall, there's a kind of a thump noise, and the damage amount will appear in an element specific color. Blue = Water, Red = Fire, Tan = Earth, White = Wind.

It doesn't matter if there are 2 or 1000 enemies, if they are between me and a gem or artifact, I will tear them to SHREDS.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I've got some very simple tips!
1) Always go for treasure box's, artifacts and regular items.
2) Ignore money bags that are gaurded. We don't want to lose life for 10 coins.
3) Avoid battles unless you're sure you can kill them in one hit. Killing one hit monsters are good for building gold.
4) Stock up on health potions
5) Sell extra artifacts, but never sell artifacts that you only have one of. Say you have a weapon that's stronger than your artifact weapon. If you sell the artifact weapon, you'll start over later with a dagger. :(
6) Feel free to replace artifacts with stronger regular items. Artifacts are really just good starter equipment.
7) ENJOY IT :DD

i managed to make it from floor 19 to floor 79 without dying or escaping. then i died on floor 80something because i didn't realize how low my health was, and had to restart on floor 19. i think i died a little inside.
