Few comments- archers are expensive, yet they're worthless in a large army since they never get close enough to shoot. Give them much long range. Hiring high level troops (hydra, angel, unicorn, etc) is also worthless since they start at the back of the pack and rarely get to hit. Best troops should always go first and paladins should always be in the middle of the 2nd row for maximum benefit.

Why is it my soldiers can never seem to win an even fight? 1 militia vs 1 militia, I always seem to lose. 1 soldier vs. 1 soldier, same deal. I just lost 4 soldiers to 3 soldiers and a militia for chrissake. I get that combat should have some randomness, but, it seems difficult on Normal difficulty. Perhaps a better in-game explanation or link to a manual would be in order so that we can better understand the combat odds. I don't want to be throwing militia men into the fray every time I get attacked "just in case".

"My aim is to make a part not long, but at the same time to keep a mechanic’s deep of turn-based strategies." What is that supposed to mean?

ive been trying to help out with the thing to where he want the game to be on steam and mobile and i respect that alot. i love this game and it brings a good lesson from the past 50 years. i think this game is probaly the best history game ive played. it also has the graphics of a retro game from the 90s witch is cool. so keep the good work and ill try harder to get this on steam and mobile.

I held out for 35 years... that was fun!!! Looking forward to full release, but also needs the option to be able to attack the enemy in order to reduce the number of attackers for a set period based on when you attacked. But losing the attack would kill you, just like with the lairs.

I really love this game (I don't understand the people who criticise it for not being graphical enough - kongregate is flooded with graphical games, and this is one of the very few that are purely strategic, simple and without that mmo crap), but there are two thing that really bother me: 1. much of the battle outcome is due to the positioning of the pieces. I once had two minotaurs but they were stuck behind the knights, so all knights died. maybe it would be nice to have a few options to adjust the positioning of pieces before battles. 2. I feel like this is pretty random. sometimes you get lots of good stuff in the scouting, sometimes it's really bad. some times I was crushed in the first 10 years, sometimes I left the game with some scrolls left (using the very same strategy, in the very same settings).

For the past 42 years, our empire has prospered. The deadly combination of numerous archers and a tanky frontline of a tree, two minotaurs, a unicorn, two hydras, and a tiger has proven devastating to our opponents.
But you know what? Today is different. Today, we're going to shake things up. Today, let's put all the range on the left, and all the tanks on the right, and see how that goes...

Year 49, attacked by 20 knights and 90 NINETY Swordsman. You are pretty much forced to pick a belief that will give you a chicken or shrink scroll in order to stand a chance. Seems fair and balanced, right? Basically this ruined an otherwise 5-star game for me.

Some kinda surrender button to end the game faster combat or making it so the combat keeps going while i am looking at another tab just a few ideas that would make the game more fun for me.

I keep running into an issue where the tooltip descriptions disappear and come back a while later. Very hard to play this game without descriptions for buttons. Great otherwise.

Does the Chinese "Militiamen know kung fu" trait actually do anything? The militia seem to still do the same amount of damage and there isn't any graphical change to them (compare the fat chicken belief).

When I bought the third town hall, I was still limited to 25 peasants (I had the religion boon). Then I bought a fourth one at 6000 gold and I was limited to 35 :-(
This happened playing with the Greeks.

some tips - please share yours:
1. Some belief classes do well with each other. I like picking the one that summons zombie chickens every year + fury of the forest (when the first unit is killed, it summons a tiger). So chickens are very fragile, and they will die in the first seconds of battle, summoning a tiger. This means you will always start a battle with a tiger.
2. Sometimes, it is better to purchase lots of swordsmen/knights instead of hydras or minotaurs - it depends on which nation you are.
Please share tips (either here in the comments or with me via messaging). I still can't beat it on hard...

Why do you sometimes have to do a year 51 and sometimes you don't? It's beyond frustrating to use a scroll for a final battle and then find out you wasted it because the next year you didn't know would happen, is even worse.

Russians FTW. I've beaten normal mode + Deadly Force and M with Russians. Winning Deadly Force by sacrificing massive waves of Russian swordsman is ironic, though.

Thanks for this great game! I like it a lot! Also it is nice to see that devs are working on improvements! (Patch came out recently!)

It's quite funny, although there is something that does not trigger my "Let's play again" feeling... 5/5 anyway, great job.
