Man, that game was fun. Gameplay was nice, and had a floaty feel to it. Moving around just feels good, and the puzzles aren't too hard that you can't figure them out on your own.

The reason i wrote how to beat the game was because all i saw were comments saying that they cant do anything or they cant figure out what to do. So i decided to tell everyone that their is an objective and if they cant figure it out, then my coment is there.

@alyssadmoore Just grab a cloud but make sure you have a long enough tongue and swing around in a circle and release when you have enough speed to fly through the ground you don't have to leave the way that you came in.

cant grapple anything if im moving or if i jump i have to stand perfectly still and can then grapple onto a cloud and swing around it but after i let go of the cloud it won't let me grapple another cloud

the colours of this game may need some adjusting depending on your monitor settings. I wish the game came with a mute music button btw.

Mindful, moody, meh. The learning curve of the controls, the lack of left mouse-hand support via use of arrow keys instead of WASD and the white-on-white visuals sadly bring this game way down from the heights it might have otherwise reached in my opinion. :(

Don't tell me to "take a break and come back to a planet later" if I can't save my progress. And the controls are really frustrating.

Good work. This is one of the most innovative flash games I've played in a while. Immersive, experimental, stunning visuals, interesting universe. Great work guys!

spent 15-20 min trying to get off the first planet. Am I meant to be able to grapel a second cloud after releasing the first? It won't let me use the tongue unless I am standing on the ground. When I try to swing in a circle, the tongue's stretch means I hit the ground and lose all momentum.

One problem I see is that it's hard to play with a mouse pad. Yeah, with a mouse it's pretty easy, but otherwise almost impossible. I'm not saying that the game is bad by any means, in fact, I do enjoy the game a lot. If this were to fixed or helped in any way, I would give the game a full score, but due to the difficulty, I'll have to go with a 4/5

came back and tried it again, still can't use my tongue unless I'm on the ground and perfectly still -- as such, can't release and grapple a second cloud. I give up.

I like art games, the colors, the subtle metaphors, the somewhat "easy" gameplay. It's different but that doesn't mean that it's bad. 4/5

The game would be a lot better if there were clues as to what you needed to do on each planet. I had to use the guide by Darknesslord99 in the Best Comments section to complete the game, though I did find out you can go either clockwise or counter-clockwise while swing from the crystals on Gravida, you just have to keep going in one direction without touching the inner core. I still liked the game though, so 3/5 Stars.

Vetaz he didnt get big, the world got smaller because he lost himself in his imagination and lost his ties to the real world

It would be nice if the whole game wasn't almost completely grayed out so I could actually see what I'm doing without having to set the contrast on my monitor to maximum.

Guys, Edmund McMillen said on his formspring that he will make another aether, just not any time soon.

"What were you meaning at the end of Aether when you said "to be continued" and showed a new planet (which I assumed was the child's own creation). I don't think that it could have meant a sequel were coming, based on how long it has been."
"it does mean that, ill do another Aether one day, probably not any time soon though"
+ so everyone can see

Starglade, try using the tongue to make a tighter circle. I noticed that the gas planet moons would explode a lot faster if there was a smaller circle to make instead of a long one. Just swing around a cloud near it until you're able to get as close as possible before you attach to it.

Am I the only one who realized the game was a goal after hours of jumping from planet to planet and getting hipnotized with the music?
