Love this game's hard truths - why would you want to be an academic? you spend the best years of your life studying, work long hours, then barely make more than you would've if you kept flipping burgers. Ouch.

It's a reasearch/hour, you are more efficient at research if you are happier and work less but that doesn't mean you et more research done

@Kefke_Wren - Free Time adds to happiness which adds to energy which adds to research and work. Something like 1:02 free time seems the best so far.

Why does leaving time free give me better research experience than investing that same amount of time into researching? Is there some tipping point where investing more than the minimum time into research for the bars to start going up is actually worth it?

Did we ever get this open source like the dev said? It could be fantastically fun to see it progress further and further, getting new techs and levels of progression. Who knows, maybe the player could eventually turn into a god with time bending abilities!

WARNING: Don't get a job that pays negatively while having a high investment skill, you will make progressively LESS money per year which is really really annoying

Watch out - if you dedicate less time to research, the xp/h goes up, but the xp/day might go down. This is because while you're doing more work in the hours you're researching, you're spending less hours per day researching.

This game is fun until you eventually max it out, and also makes it a bit worse that the dev hasn't updated the game since 2018

FahCough it's because of how the happiness and energy system work you have more free time so your happiness goes up so your energy goes up so you work more efficiently sometimes the energy boost out ways the extra time sunk into other things
