This feels like a game that could, with a lot of playtesting before release, have been good. As is: no invincibility on hit, misleading attack animations that only count at the end, flying enemies that kill you instantly, It's too short, skill resets would be nice... I'd suggest reading this and other comments, then making another one.

has anyone managed to defeat the boss with daggers because i die after 2 hits and can only take out like 1/10 of his if that!!!!!?????!!!!!

Great game! Only suggestion would be to have the mouse determine the direction of fire so that turning and firing would be a bit more fluid. Hope to see more :)

This game is a lot of fun, purchases and upgrades are spaced enough to keep it engaging. However, how the hell are you supposed to change the active spell?

Tip: The best weapon type to use is the staff. While it may be weak at first, it gets stronger later and it's ranged piercing attacks make the boss fight much easier.

Great game wish it was longer though. And the dagger is really shit. How are you supposed to beat the boss when he hits you everytime you come near? You'd think you'd get rewarded for getting that close with some very high damage. But it deals the same damage as the best staff. It's like 10 times harder to beat the game with a dagger. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. But the starting items aren't named as difficulty options, even though they are at the moment.

the dagger and sword acievements count the wrong thing. i.e. sword achievement counts my dagger stabs and vise versa. also the "buy 7 weapons" achievement only counts the weapons from your primary category. i.e. when staff is my primary it doesn't count the daggers or swords I buy.
did you guys test this game? like, at all?

when you start out don't just continually attack the door, just fight the enemies to get souls and experience, it will make the game go alot quicker. Also get regen asap.

The boss only teleports if you run past him, so easiest way to kill him is with the staff - shoot him and back away, and he'll keep walking towards you. Don't forget tidal wave every time you can when the boss is visible. With high def/movement/evasion you can mostly walk through the other mobs.

I just got a lot of regenartion attaked him a few times runed away killed the mobs than went for him again and again i need long for him but I got him down that way

Also one should buy only one item of each kind (weapon, ring, bracelet) after one battle if he wants them to be count towards corresponding achievement.

Addendum: The achievements are... poorly written in a few cases: Jack of All Trades activates as long as you have put points into 3 different trees on the 13th addition of a point, not when you have bought your 13th different skill; Attack is the Best Defense requires that you buy all weapons of a type (all swords, staves, or daggers) and NOT just any 7 weapons; The Element Master requires that you completely max out the levels of a tree's worth of skills (including the tree's spell skill), not just put a point into all of the skills in the tree; and Soul Factory requires that you have 250K soul at one time rather than collect that much over the course of the game. Also you can only collect the bestiary achievement when you look at the bestiary after killing every monster in the game for some reason.

Tips for the game: Max Regeneration, Survival Training, Shukuchi, Nimble Footsteps, and Iron Body no matter which weapon type you prefer because they all help you with the whole not-dying thing. You can't go wrong with swords (knockback + raw damage) or staves (piercing). Soul Thirst eases the grind until you can kill endgame giants, at which point Quick Learner ceases to matter. Flying enemies can be killed most easily by attacking BEHIND yourself instead of trying to hit them unless you attack much sooner than you think you should. As for the last boss, you have the entire castle and outdoors to run around - ideally you should be able to grind up enough soul power to buy your last weapon by the time you've reached him, and if you have that you can afford to just flee everything and wait. Also always make sure you're picking up the orbs on the ground, green especially as that can be a full heal or regen boost to get you back in the fight quicker.

Lots of complaints about flying enemies... I used the staff and never had an issue, not sure about other weapons. They cycle between flying on your level and flying on one too high to hit, you need a little strategy. Wait for them to come lower and kill them. Whiny babies. Do we really need to nerf all challenge?

Some balance issues aside, this is a pretty all right game. Flying enemies are ridiculously difficult to kill, and the boss has too much health, auto-teleports after every attack, and hits like a Mack truck. There's also the problem with the concept in that the Demon (whatever his name is; forgot it, don't care enough to try and remember) literally just recruited and trained someone to kill people significantly stronger than he is (I mean, otherwise, he would have just killed Hades and taken the crown for himself).

Nice game, but flying enemies are too hard to hit and the big enemies even hit me with their attacks after i pushed them back - bug?

Requires invincibility frames. Flying units are capable of diminishing your health instantly due to them having no real attack, they merely touch you.

Maximum Level is 40, no matter what else you do, max out Regeneration, Quick Learner, Staff Mastery, Piercing Shot, Survival Training, Iron Body, Shukuchi, Soul Thirst, Nimble Footsteps. For Rings, I used Evasion, Defense (alternate: Movement), HP and Regen. For Bracelets I picked Staff Damage and Regen. A high regeneration rate allows you to focus on the boss longer while getting pummeled by weaker enemies. Don't bother jumping to hit flying enemies, hit them when they are near ground level. The lower the boss HP, the more often he will teleport, try keeping him on the screen after a teleport. If you are low on, high Movement and Evasion rates greatly help to regenerate.

guide to winning if everyone is struggling: use staff.
max staff, staff dmg bracelet, regen bracelet, regen ring, speed ring, health ring, evasion ring.
max pretty much everything in the water tree except maybe the xp one, it all helps, esp the tidal wave. end game you need the tidal wave damage to help clear everything and do extra damage to the boss.
then u wanna get evasion from the fire tree as well as the 2 movement speed. the soul upgrade also helps a lot, but becomes useless once you have end game gear so i only put 2 in it.
in green tree u wanna get the health upgrade and defense upgrades.
you should kite them with the staff. also theres this move you can do. while running left for example, you can jump and keep your speed and start casting in mid air. you can turn right before you hit the ground and hit the guys behind you. allows you to cast without slowing down a lot.

Interesting but not balanced at all ! I did the whole game with staff... then tried others weapons and couldn't do shit even full upgraded/stuffed...
