@Rockphed I think the zombie levels really depend on whether you get locked in a near stalemate. I finished towerfall in 38 turns without even trying hard, but it took me 110 turns to finish fort sigil.
@all thanks for the tips regarding Native Resolution, I'm gonna try again.

197 turns to finish Towerfall. I could have finished it about 10 turns sooner if I hadn't tried to clear all the zombies.

Towerfall (in the Mapmaker's Archipelago) is the kind of level I don't enjoy much, because it feels like I don't have much agency to follow any path except the precise one its designer intended.

@Ilutac: I rushed south as fast as possible. That got me in place where I could kill orange's army. Then it was 30 turns of slowly fighting everyone.

Am I crazy or is the Christmas level far too dependant on luck? I failed so many times with bad luck and then got a lucky start with the gifts and just STOMPED. Seemed kind of impossible without luck on your side(?)

Just came up with an idea that might be an nice addition to the game. At one point, castles dont matter at the specified location, but they still cost 2 gold per round.
So what if you were able to destroy the castle? This will save you 2 coins. However, to do this, you will need to pay for example 10 coins. This this example you will earn back the money after 5 rounds.
See if you like the idea :)

I really like the temporary presents feature, I think it would be interesting to see an expedition with a similar trait-it feels like it adds to the diplomancy.

Wait was Foccia changed? It seemed nearly impossible earlier but did have a super cool solution. When I played it now it was an easy joke, and I think I used a totally different more obvious tactic. I liked the old one 10x better assuming it was indeed changed.

@Dragonstrider4: I did it by landing where I could kill 2 zombies the first turn on the east side of the island. There might be other landing sites that work.

usually when people say "I would rather [insert suffering] than play this game" they just mean it's low quality or boring. However, I GENUINELY would rather go through puberty a second time than deal with the mental pain of this game. It makes me feel like a moron, but honestly, it's just the ai which is way too difficult. Sure, if you play this game a lot, I might seem like I'm just some guy who raged at a game I was bad at. But I really tried! I gave it chance after chance to make me enjoy the game but I just hate it. It's literal mental torture. 1/5

Naud1234, it's because "Not Quite The End Of The World" badge was made first, and at the time the only two zombie levels were available then were relatively hard ones.
Then came the Dead Island expeditions where a 2-turn victory was available for the first level.

Last time I lost against the first zombie level and thought it was impossible. Now it was quite easy. Wait for the zombies to walk closer to you and then kill them. Otherwise they kill you. Walk left instead and get the gold. Overtake the zombie village with a pikeman. Wait for the other zombies to come close before killing them and save the pikeman for crossing their border and taking over their castle.

Why is this badge considered easy while Not Quite The End Of The World Badge is medium when that's just beating ANY zombie level?

The expedition screen is really cool/pretty but I wouldn't mind still having the old view too. Awesome job every week dev!

One general tip for the expedition mode: the AI does not keep defenders near its cities. Sometimes you need to shake the habit of careful, well-defended expansion in order to push right to the enemy cities.

okay..? I lose every single unit because my two cities are separated? what the hell? I still have the income. why did it do that?

Finally, i've beaten all 106 levels on hard difficulty. Some from the 20 last levels felt impossible at first, but they turned out to be doable.

i wish there was a was a way to actually ally yourself with another kingdom, without the risk of war. I also wish for a more challenge on the zombie bot conquest please, but over all nice game
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
nice new menu, the only thing tricky is easily going through the completed islands to see where you took a lot of turns, so have the best chance at reducing the total

This is SLAY, but with the creative twist of the zombies added in. Very creative and enjoyable addition to this type of game. Great job!

Here my work for mortis, take the upper box at turn 3 and lower box at turn 5. Cut off yellow at turn 6 via lower path (left some space for green). Then, left green vs yellow and take the upper part (and cut off yellow if green cannot). Also, place some castles to block zombie attacking you. Later(around turn 18), other will be destoried by zombie. Keep putting all your men to cut off yellow. Around turn 27, yellow cannot break the layer. Finally, make it on turn 37.

@MagnusA73: I usually strike downward, taking out grey along the way and then go along the bottom of the map holding down green while I gather strength to cut off yellow after they've spread into the upper map.

New to this, but started in hard anyway, as I play a lot of strategy and tactics games. With island 20 it got really hard. I only managed with some luck. And 21 seems hard as well.

This truly has all of the elements that make a game great. Easy to learn, hard to master, and a lot of fun experimenting along the way. If I were to find a way to improve it, I would say a true multi-player, with communications (that could be intercepted?) for diplomacy, and maybe the ability to build new castle/hq's or whatever they are called, to spawn troops from. Also, maybe an Archer class, that can take targets out at a distance. But, it is absolutely great just the way it is. Great work! (and glad to see the devs are still active).

Computer lowkey annoying ngl but I really enjoy the endgame of just mercilessly trapping the final nation and being able to get that revenge.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The CPU will commit suicide in order to inconvenience you. There's times where it's best for them to steal a hex or 2 of your land to get them happy towards you, then ignore them for a while.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@BillyT100: If you watch them, the computer opponents make similarly bad moves against each other, and they're always going after something, whether it's nabbing weak prey, blocking a threat, settling a grudge, or reaching a piece of their own land colour.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Its kind of a good game. But it also constantly pisses me off. I am playing hard mode, but the computer constantly fu*ks you over without mercy kind of at random, but also kind of colluding against you. Often times the computers seem to make bad moves for themselves in order to screw the player over. Its really frustrating sometimes.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Oh, and waaayyy to difficult in some levels. Reminds me of Go, where one mistake screws you over completely. Not very fun...
