Oh, and waaayyy to difficult in some levels. Reminds me of Go, where one mistake screws you over completely. Not very fun...

@JackVermicelli you must not understand how the zombies work. Read the explanation in the help section. That is the easiest zombie level in the game currently if you understand the rules.

@Darknesshas1 You can just ignore the tutorial, all the pointed arrows are suggestions you can ignore, also you can just exit the tutorial.

I'm not a dumb guy, but making nay progress on this game just seems to be beyond me. This first stage of the Dead Islands expedition for the 5pt badge just stomps me down so fast I have to suspect there's just some trick to it.

Dark knights can be turned into ordinary zombies by separating them from the base-using a hero might also work, but that would be pretty expensive. I hope you have fun archerbob!

No idea how to beat the arrival island, my knights cannot kill or block the eternal knight so I just lose over and over
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It was already an impressive game, but those madlad even go out of their way to improve it with a story campaign with new gameplay and even promote it with badge

I just played a custom zombies game because even level 1 of the real zombie levels is insanely difficult. They just overtake everything.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Easiest way to get badge is to go to CONQUEST and then set the mode to Zombies, with whatever other settings you like.

I have been on Kong for 13 years, seen hundreds of games, and some recent games and newly added badgesto old games were disappinting. However, konkr is a surprisingly fresh idea with great implementation, badges are reasonable. Its a pleasure to play it sometimes, without the need to invest much time and without all of the evil things that players hate in other games. This game is such a joy, 5 stars from me.

@Stratome: congratulations! You have managed to stumble upon a soft lose condition. There are a few levels where the AI starts out with towers and enough units that they all turn into bandits. You should be able to beat level 3 without running out of money in any of your towns. Start the level over and remember that if you cannot pay your units they become bandits. Also, remember to expand your territory where you can and follow the in-game hints on that level.

im only on lvl 3 and ive managed somehow to softlock myself
all my units despite being in friendly territory are bandits..my income is incapable of outpacing the "friendly" bandits and i cant make more units cus my every kingdom is running money deficit which i cant change cus of the fact these "friendly" bandits both take my income and also take my space..yet i cant lose because the ai is incapable of building knights currently thus the only 2 prebuilt towers mark my eternal 99999+ turn problem wherein the game acts as though i can do something where in fact until territories change which wont happen.. i cant...................how? im not even drunk yet and i broke the game utterly and (possibly?) unexpectedly

Heart of Darkness was really easy while City of the Dead was super hard (until you eventually figure out the rather random start location to pick (or get lucky?)); would be better to somehow reverse them or their difficulties.

@Narziss: Foccacia requires a very focused strategy, but once you see the strategy it is fairly straightforward. Pretty much any level beyond 80 is going to be pretty hard.

The zombie expedition update is 5/5. Enjoyed every bit of it. It looked unwinnable which made it satisfying beating those levels. Just play the style you like - you can win with both 'aggressive' and 'slow & steady'.

For those who don't want to go to discord, here is a way to beat Arrival in 3 turns and get the badge. Turn 1: use your starting 2 villagers to defeat zombie to the north. Turn 2: use your 2 villagers to get the chest to the west, then buy 2 more villagers and get the chest to the north, then buy 1 more villager and get a tile to the east of that chest, closer to the enemy base. Turn 3: use 1 villager to get closer to the enemy base, then merge 4 villagers into 2 pikemen, use 2 pikemen to destroy the enemy base. This solution was posted by Mein on discord, I'm just reposting it here so that it is more accessible.

@Kosh67 Dude chill out. It's link to the discord post in the Kongregate Discord's Konkr.io. It's good that you do not mindlessly click links :) Hovewer I cannot post here 6 screenshots. You can find my solution by clicking into Kong Discord's widget and scrolling up. Somebody even found better solution than mine.

For all people trying to get the BOTD early, it is now possible since Tuesday to get it with the Dead Islands expedition (yesterday Monday it didn't count). One level should be enough, although I already played yesterday all of its levels (there are 5), they are fun and challenging. Thanks you developers and/or Kongregate for this fix ^^

To get Not Quite The End Of The World Badge you only need to complete Dead island "Arrival" mission. I made post on discord how to do this in 6 turns.

I love this game, it is a joy to play both visually and mechanically. Any possibility of a multiplayer option in the future?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Karsh777: Yep, that did it. Though I did come close to losing it, that does get you through the first few turns and bring Red down to a level more equal to the other colors.

@HalBailman and Narziss: You want to play a zombie campaign level. At the moment, there are three: "Let the Winter Come", "Mortis", and "End Times".

What counts to survive on an island with zombies? I beat a Dead Islands map and a Conquest with zombies. No achievement.
Oh, sorry about this! I just fixed it - Dead Islands levels and Zombie mode conquest levels should now count for this badge (Dead Islands even retroactively, conquest maps only on the next win). The badge is older than those modes and I forgot to update it.

For Guardia on Hard, turn 1 put Rosaline right of your town with two villagers above her. Do not cut of the bit of red to her right. Turn 2, Red will put almost everyone in the south and you can use 1 Villager + Rosaline to cut off the left side + 1 villager to cut off the right side, bankrupting most of red. Follow up with buying a villager to keep your newly gained land + Rosaline connected before ending your turn, and you'll enter turn 3 with decent economy and a bankrupt Red. Should be easy sailing from there.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Wow, yeah, Guardia is throwing me around the room. I had what I thought was a good start, cutting the knight off turn 1 with the help of the northern AI. Two turns later red had a hero in my city. You have to keep Rosalina by your city, or else Red hits it with a pikeman or the knight as needed, so you can't just kill one of the cities turn 1. Assuming this is possible on Hard, finding the trick is going to take a lot of thinking.

@nintendojunkie All the maps even in the standard campaign are temporary as at least one map has be rotated out; however in my experience with this game over the last few months i would say you have plenty of time to play the campaign and then enjoy the dead islands. I dont think its going away any time soon, i think its release within halloween timeframe is coincidental.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@embair Is the "Dead Islands" expedition a limited time event, or can I wait to play it until after I finish the campaign?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@
1000thSon: It's not a substitute for keeping your guard up, but I've often seen how opponents respond differently when I rewound after unwisely antagonizing someone and held back instead. I've played plenty of conquest maps on unfair difficulty where not stirring up my bigger neighbours meant they didn't immediately come ploughing through my defenses.

"Yellow faction loves you, you are allies with them" End turn. "Yellow faction takes your base, instead of attacking your mutual enemy". What is the point of the like/dislike system of the factions if it doesn't influence their moves in the slightest?
