My old lady lived her last days to their fullest, and when she finally closed her eyes for the last time, she was peaceful and happy in front of the television. At least, she wasn't bored.

i actually think all the spelling mistakes and "glitches" are part of the game. spelling mistakes being loss of vision/deaf/memory etc and that making it hard to understand things. the brightness going down as each day progresses and other such things are more then likely part of the game. even when the old lady walks out from behind the tree and sits on herself, that's blindness i guess?

i dont no if this is a bug but on day 4 i went to the grave and it said "he passed nom" and the old lady was already sitting at the bench wich she then came from behind the tree and sat on heself...

Great game. Although I didn't really like that I end up going completely blind though. I tried my hardest to stay alive and then I end up in a position where I can't even figure out what I'm doing?
Yes, it's very meaningful and I know that people do end up in a position where they can't prevent death but I quite enjoyed battling through each day and I would've loved to continue to do so until I simply couldn't do it anymore and actually chose to give up.

dmarche, that's not a legitimate retort (talking about how he's not made a game.) You don't have to make games to know what constitutes good and bad ones. I'm not disagreeing with your opinion of this game though. It's beautiful.

@dmarche88: It's perfectly fair to state that you know the individual making the game, and feel that it is not pretentious etc. Good show. It is NOT however ok or even remotely useful to rake up that old BS "Well let's see YOUR game then huh, huh" crap. Would you perhaps fail to complain to the manufacturer if your car failed in some spectacular way? Would you be fine with it if upon receiving your complaint about the gas tank exploding in random fender-benders you got a reply saying, "Oh yeah? Well let's see the car YOU designed pal. Or lack thereof." Yeah I doubt it. Mostly because that attitude is spurious logic of the first order. Think before you post ;p

Actually, Acepilot, it isn't pretentious. I happen to know Jaime very well, and I can tell you that he has experienced this, second-hand. He got the inspiration for this game from his grandmother. Kudos to Jaime for creating a game that has far more substance than most of the drab same-old crap that passes through this site. And Acepilot, before you judge someone else's game, ask yourself, "How does this stack up against my game (or lack there of)?"

While I can appreciate the intent of this "game," it fails to do what games are meant to do...entertain. I get that this is supposed to pass along the idea of what life could be like if when you grow old, but it's not something that people will like to play or think about.

No Lolly, this game doesn't mean anything. It's trying to make some point that the writer himself probably hasn't even experienced. Just because something is called 'indie art', is terribly coded, seems like it should be sad, does not mean it has to be good in any way. I suppose I should have specified; I was a bit vague in my meaning. This isn't art. This is nothing. 'Oh, I'm going to make a game about how sad it is to be alone...' haha, no, this practically isn't even a game. It's just pretentious.
