Under rating threshold (show) If you lose all your opium and can't afford to buy more, the game will offer you to sell one of your boats for 1,000 silver, so no, boats aren't worth 100k gold.

Under rating threshold (show) hard badge - you dont even need to try and win the game to achieve the hard badge goal. the thing you want to do is buy and sell as much as possible. Winning doesnt matter. you do need to get to the final year, but when i finished i shipped 2760 crates to Brit and 3240 sold to china and made almost 90mil in points while not meeting the last year demand. So the secret is not to try and win but just buy and sell as much as possible.

Under rating threshold (show) Great game, the initial learning curve is a bit rocky (interpreting the offer windows is a little daunting at first), but once you get going, it's great trading fun and makes it supremely easy to forget that you're ruining the lives of millions in pursuit of profits! =)

Under rating threshold (show) 85.2M Points. Just stick to this: Buy everything below $55, sell to any above $55, take no risks -- stockpiles are good. Last shipment, buy tea at any price -- time is the limiter not funds. When you only have one or two ships, pick ports close to the bottom, unless the top has a great deal: $80-90/crate, 20+ crates.

Under rating threshold (show) Its definitely a fun game, and something new, but the game suffers from massive issues with time constraint. The "cooldown" on buying opium and tea relative to how much you can buy at a time, max, is terrible. There were points where I had well over 10k silver, and the prices of tea were to the floor, but I couldnt meet the order in time (that is to say its exact due date) because I simply couldnt buy fast enough! Also, why arent we getting paid for shipping tea to Britain? We get ships at first, but Im rarely making more then 3 trades at any given time an would rather have gotten average market value for the few hundred crates rather then a useless boat.

Under rating threshold (show) Did some research... The chinese population in 1850 was on about 450 million. So, if we think that your results probably say around 300 million opium users, it means that more than 2/3 of China were drug addicts. So trying to stop something like this is like trying to stop candy in the modern world.

Under rating threshold (show) This is a great game, really love it, 5/5 hands down mate! It's well designed and i like how the difficulty goes up at the end.. reducing the fork of prices and making you accept low profit deals too. As i said, very fun game, you really made a great art piece bro! 5/5

Under rating threshold (show) For the hard badge, you have to make it to 1839 in order for it to register. The badge says win or lose, but that really isn't accurate if you lose before 1839!

Under rating threshold (show) Oddly enough, despite the absolute random nature of the prices, and how little control the user has of the quantity and nature of deals or risky ports, I found this game to be a nice balance of tranquility (nice music) and stressful challenge (mashing the BUY button because you can't buy more than 30 at a time). While I agree with many comments below that the BUY button should allow buying more than 30, I still found this game to be very well done, and it felt more balanced than I was originally going to give it credit. 4/5 stars. Thanks for the fun experience.

Under rating threshold (show) What I would like to see: - The ability to cancel an order I accidentally clicked on before the ship reaches the destination. - Be able to sell ships at any time, not only when poor. - PLEASE be able to buy more tea/opium! The sections should be something like "10, 30, 50, 100" instead of "5, 15, 30" - A 'restart' button on the pause menu would be great! + so the developers will see.

Under rating threshold (show) Getting the Hard badge is rather easy. What you need to do is buy in bulk tea early on when the price drops to 10 or less. It's easy to amass 500+ tea in the beginning. That means you have lots of time to trade Opium. Later in the game is where you make your Opium money. Early on you need to focus on making good purchases and holding on for great deals. You'll get a bribe card and you need to save it for a $99 sale of 30 or more crates. The risk must be worth the reward. Late game when you have 5 ships then you should risk your ships. You won't be able to use all 5 at once and still make high profit. Just like when you risked you bribe card, you risk your ships. Some will get through and make massive profit. Some you will lose. You can lose three ships and still function. Don't worry about losing ships. Worry about making money.

Under rating threshold (show) The key to win this game easily is to be picky with your trade in order to control both chinese addiction to opium and british addiction to tea. Never sell opium under 70, the more opium you trade the higher the alarm rate in chinese ports and the more opium you need to buy, rising the price in Bengal. Likewise, don't be desperate to reach the quote of tea as fast as possible, if the clipper has to wait for a few weeks it will help keep british addiction under control, demanding less tea per shipment. In the last year of the game, you need to purchase tea constantly, so you will need solid reserves of silver in order to ensure your victory.
