After playing this in October 2024, with all the new updates, with so many game mechanics(I've only reached Battle Tower + Talents + Atom Shop, there may be more than this), I think this deserves way more than a 2.9 stars, it should be at least 3.9. Yes, has some minor flaws: sometimes early game the grind feels a bit too much, but you also have the option to just wait (it's an idle game after all), so you either actively grind for 20 minutes or wait about 2 hours. Also it would greatly help if would be more obvious when you'll unlock something next (I almost quit 2 times because I thought there were no new mechanics).

I have gotten to Battle Tower Level 4.91e6 and it is getting annoying that every time I retire I have to hold Alt + → for about 5 - 10 minutes just to get back to where I was. Unless this is intentional, I might suggest adding a button to advance 10,000 enemy levels or even by the log(highest enemy level) or something similar? Thank you and I have and will continue to enjoy playing this game.
Yup, that is intentional. You "finish" the mechanic at around enemy level 20000-ish, that's when you unlock the next part of the game. You can still continue to go further for fun, but it's not necessary for progression. Also, due to the way I coded it, at some point it just breaks (I think around e11 or e12 or so) so I don't want anyone to reach those numbers. Currently that's "impossible" (not technically, but would take a long ass time to get there), so that's not an issue right now. If I were to let you go further more easily, that might become a relevant problem. Also, I very well might fix this issue entirely for the next major content update.

So I found a game breaking bug in the Early Game, if try to prestige a generator, when the game goes faster than normal. PLEASE FIX IT.
Also habe ich einen spielbrechenden Fehler im frühen Spiel gefunden, wenn versucht wird, einen Generator zu prestige, wenn das Spiel schneller als normal läuft. BITTE REPARIERE ES.

Ok so, why does such a simplistic idle game have a 10 page long save file. As soon as I copy and pasted the save file to word, my computer nearly froze open opening the doc. The file size could use some improvement. Other than that, this game has been great.

too much interaction to buy the same updates over and over and over. Please make automation or similar QoL available earlier in the game my fingers hurt
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It's honestly really enraging that so many of the things you'd expect to work when idle don't. Like, electrons only progress when I have the chrome tab open. It just slows progression down so far when you have to spend so much time staring at a screen to progress.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I haven't gotten too far, but if you have any friends who can do any kind of basic pixel art, I think that would be a massive improvement to the game. I love seeing numbers go BRRRRRR as much as the next guy, but a bit of art goes a long way.

Ok, I've had a great time playing the new content, until i hit a wall at 400 BOSS level in Battle Tower... I would gladly had some mote information on how the battle tower works, especially into the statistics. Having put all my points does not tell me much of my damage, nor amount of damage i block, etc.
Sorry for the late reply, if you're ever stuck, just join the discord. People can help you there, and other people have been stuck before, so you might find the answer if you scroll a little.

kinda fun game, but I was a bit disappointed to see that there was either no progression or practically no progression when I closed the game and came back later. There shouldn't be a need to actively keep an idle game open in order for progress to be made.
You can only prestige one thing at a time, but later you unlock upgrades that makes it so that you don't reset anything when you prestige, so then it will do them all at the same time.

Just giving the generators names will make it more fun, very easy...Just start with like Wood Burning Generator, then Coal or something all the way to like Galaxy Class Generator or something

With the expansion autobuyer, can you set to so it expands at say +1e3 higher than your current EP? What would the syntax be?

Thanks for the quick replies! Modern web browsers throttle JavaScript timers (to no more than once a minute) when they consider a page is idle (usually based on whether it's visible and how recently an interaction took place), whether or not it's in its own window; see e.g. https://developer.chrome.com/blog/timer-throttling-in-chrome-88/. Even without throttling, timers never fire precisely: they're affected by the browser's internal timer frequency, the load on the rest of the OS, etc.; that's why desktop games never run at precisely 30 or 60 FPS, or whatever rate they're targetting - but the FPS doesn't affect how fast you can walk etc. The simple solution is to increment timers etc. based on actual time elapsed rather than guessing/hoping it was exactly 1 second. The usual pattern for this is to have the game loop take the elapsed time as an argument (calculated along the lines of `currTimeMs = Date.now(); elapsedTimeMs = currTimeMs - prevTimeMs; prevTimeMs = currTimeMs;`).
Yeah I do that in my main loop that calculates stuff, but I'm not currently doing it with my time function. I'll write it down and fix that for the next update :D

Ah, I think I found the real progression blocker! Eyewars, it looks like there's a bug in the time() function - it always increments time by 1 second rather than by how much time has actually elapsed, which means if it's getting called, say, once a minute (like when idling), progress is going to be 60x slower than intended.
Idling as in having it in another tab? That might actually be it. That's a problem with a lot of incremental games, I guess the best way to avoid that is just opening the game in a different window instead of tab. Then it will always be loaded as if your actually playing the game.

Eyewars - thanks for the tip about expansion upgrade 13. It wasn't clear to me that it means number of times expanded rather than EP. Might be good to show an expansion counter somewhere to make it more obvious that that's an important number?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
As others have said, there's a brick wall in the lower tiers of Beta upgrades (around 1e46 EP) where it takes 24hrs with 0 progress, waiting for the time-based multipliers to accumulate. No indication when the next mechanic unlocks, and I'm not sure I'll have the patience to find out myself.
Haha, I check the comments regularly. The balancing for the next update is kinda annoying so I'll probably have a beta test where I can get some feedback relatively soon. I'll post it on the r/incremental_games subreddit when that happens.

I don't understand the rating. Idle games are all about the math model and reasonable pace of growth.
This game so far looks 5/5.

> Doesn't seem like the M key is optimal. Should probably use the highest generator it can afford, unless it has more than 20, in which case it favors the multipler. Though I haven't unlocked the expansions yet, so that might affect things a bit.
Then again holding down the M key is oddly extremely effective later on in the game...

It would be nice if something in the game explained what made you get Expansion Points. (Either a blurb in Info, or something to indicate progress toward the next one, so the player could figure it out).
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
could you move the keeping autobuyers through omega to like the first or second simulation upgrade? this game is agonizingly slow otherwise and I don't feel like its worth progressing if I have to spend hours spam clicking in an IDLE GAME
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Could really use some basic energy production upgrades that don't require you to get electric or anything, having to wait forever at the start of resets even at omega to get some EP for all your upgrades to take effect is really annoying for gameplay
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Unless you are specifically hiding what is next I think there should be something to show that. Either a "locked" box or just something to say that theres still things to find. I know theres more but only cause of chat.
There kind of is tho. In the beginning you can see the expansion tab, and it tells you that something unlocks at 1e308. Then the last expansion upgrade says "Unlocks ???". After that you unlock omega before finishing ABG. Then you get Simulation a few upgrades into omega upgrades, and I think you unlock electrons/atoms right after simulation, before you have all omega upgrades. You can also read all omega upgrades from the start so you can see that things you don't know what are yet gets upgraded. So the game always tells you, or gives you get next mechanic before finishing the current one.

A)resize the game already, it's not that hard. B) some sort of early auto buyer would be great, i've spent the past 2 hours spam clicking and honestly it's just not enjoyable, it's obnoxious and honestly just boring
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
My amount of omega generators have reached "ee(e^NaN)NaNeNaNeNaN" and I am not sure those ones actually work anymore. Any fix for that??
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Alpha upgrade 2 is pretty unbalanced and basically just ties EP to a time gate per expansion. Your Energy and Electricity gains slow to a crawl long before it's worthwhile to Expand again, since every time you double your run time, you get 32x EP. This basically forces each expansion to be about 2 hours, since your Energy and Electricity gain are far too low for the final Alpha/Gamma multipliers to increase EP gain by a remotely comparable amount, reducing gameplay to simply waiting. I get that this is an idle game, but it feels really bad when progression is reduced to (seconds/5)^5 and any progression with the other currencies is negligible. I hope I'm making sense, but it should be pretty apparent that nothing ends up mattering for progression as much as just waiting for a specific amount of time regardless of the other currencies.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
For Expansion Autobuyer it would be better to depend on the number of Expansion upgrades you can afford after Expansion instead of specific EP amount (EPs needed is always growing up).
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I'd highly recommend resizing the game window to fit in the standard Kongregate game frame - I'd suspect that's the main reason your current rating isn't at least 3 stars. In an HTML/JS based game, it should be relatively simple and I think this will help improve player count. Also, the early game pacing is pretty strange. You start off going only slightly too slow at 30sec to a couple minutes, as another user noted. Not quite fast enough to play active, but going idle ends up being unrewarding. Suddenly, the game kicks up to a pace where you're forced to play active by constantly prestiging for the first few EP and going idle effectively gives no progress. It also feels like the rapid pacing spike makes the number of generators a bit excessive, since you just blast through 6-8 without them being any meaningful milestone.
Good job so far, but there's definitely room for improvement
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The energy profit seems to be an actual problem as it gets locked after a while. I can leave the game running for a long time and the only way to get past that is to Expand. When it has gotten rid of all my energy, if I am then able to build it up faster, it eventually reaches a higher number and locks there.
I explained in your other comment. You just have really big numbers, so just letting it go up normally won't change it. In your other comment you said that you had e9.490e12, to make that e9.491e12 you would need 1 billion more zeroes, and you're not gonna get that by just idling.
No that's right. "e9.490e12" or e1e13 to simplify it, is 10000...10 trillion zeros...0000. So to make that number go up you have to do more than just idle for a bit :P

might have found a bug, i am not able to buy electron stuff after a certain amount of time (even if i have more than enough electrons), seems like i can "restart" it when i exchange for atoms, but then it blocks up again after 1 or 2 electron upgrades.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I feel the multiply electron gain is too low output compared to the max electrons. I could let it accumulate electrons for a year and I still wouldn't hit my max.

For those of us who are photosensitive, it would be great if holding down the M button would make it so the panels don't light up when they can be clicked; that way, you won't get a constant light blue flicker. I felt nauseous pretty quickly. Maybe add an option to make it so panels don't light up at all?
Also - I can't see my current EP anywhere. Should they be visible?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Alpha Beta and Gamma need to be bulk bought and distributed all at once. That's the biggest slow down in the end game.
I'm not exactly sure, as I have a lot of school work. But hopefully I'll be able to make it soon. I also have to make an update before that tho where I just optimize the game more.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Nice game but, isn't there a bug with great numbers? I'm winning 1e15408 energy per second, but it takes me 4 to 5 sec to go from 1e15407 to 1e15408.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
so i'm at alpha beta gamma (just finished the autobuyer in the beta tree) but i was wondering what the next point is, or more like "when" the next mechanic is, can you put up some general breakpoints or "lvls" or such. just wanna know if i'm an hour out or 2 weeks Thx
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Protip : the game runs at normal speed when you don't look at it. Simulation goes ten times faster when I go to a different tab and window.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
At 3e30 Omega Points the game is essentially over. No real progress the last few days and I dont see any potential upgrades for further progress. Thought there may be another reset or currency but it looks like there isnt.
