If you actually beat Reciful, the game refuses to say you won the battle. Funny ;). Yes it is possible with the right builds as Gely does NOT take the 50% damage return with soul pact.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
if you use a pure endurance build on Gely,( add NOTHING but endurance) and add the two heart perks, he does about 9000 damage with soul pact :D

After you completed it till you see the flow of time table thing destroy items blah blah blah. You finally understand everything and you are finally able to do side quests. So you can say that at that point you just completed the INTRO (and that point is at 47%.)

As has been said before on this tread, great game the stroy is excellent and the characters a re memorable and I enjoyed the elfen lied refernce with sisily. I dont like the need for near perfect builds and strategies for fights after about 50% of the game. I feel like I should be able to enjoy explointing all the options and not have to bang my head against the wall everytime I use a strategy that was not tailor fitted to the fight. Also more random battles with more reasonable opponents as well as an actual experience system rather than planned level up would have been awesome. Im not a developer I dont know how easy or hard this would have been or if it was in your vision and I still enjoyed the game but its too much work for me to want to finish it though I will check out the mythical second part to it.

I agree with Teresthul, Holy Egg is really easy, especially when it's magic shield is up. Use moon waltz to increase power. Really helps alot. Did 10k damage and while she is in level 9 with 8 power.

After beating all the bosses in the normal storyline, I went to the back of shakpot's cave (it was a problem IE 8 has apparently where you can't stop moving) and it asked me for a password. I think the password is the codeword the developer sent people who donated in order to unlock the Lovers tarot.

yet another post by me, i noticed one of Neraine's perks is named "Flash steps", so yeah, she's definitely inspired by Yoruichi.
(flash step = shunpo)

i also noticed Fool's "Thunder Rod" looks exactly like Ramuh's attack in Final Fantasy IX, although all these similarities might just be coincidences

did anyone else notice that Neraine looks ALOT like Shihouin Yoruichi from Bleach? She also uses Kuchiki Rukia's attacks =)
references, me likey

oh, and sorry for the double-post, but here is an "easy" way to beat Tale's Memory. (Nera should be based on Moon Waltz: 8/4/17/18. If not, change her NOW!). Nera goes to choke-point. Summon Death (behind Nera, not in front), Magician and Hanged Man. 2nd Turn: Soulburst Death and Hanged Man. Do NOT leave chokepoint. That is just to get your people in position and weaken it. You CAN'T do 250,000 damage in two turns. 3rd Turn: Summon Angel Tarot and Fool. Now, if you are set up right, you can double-cast Moon Waltz, then hit back twice with Frozen Steps for over 10,000 each. (22 Energy). And you are healing with both MW and FS (cause Fool gives Drain). Basically, you keep that up, using Magician, Emi and Sisi for energy, blasting occasionally when you have free energy with Gelyan and Fool, Healing with Angel. But you always should have 22 Energy left for Nera. Eventually, you'll win.

one of THE best games on Kongregate. Hell, I've already got finished the game (and the sidequests including Tale's Memory), and I still play it.

My favorite flash rpg, its odd that its not higher up seeing how good it is... i love the storyline and the characters

Tereshthul, you prolly have IE8, (that seems to be the one with that problem) Go to tools, select internet Options, and tehn go to the security tab, select trusted sites, and add Kong as one of em, and turn off protected mode (only in trusted sites) That should do the trick.

Can someone help me? Whenever I press the arrow keys or WASD to move, the move sticks so they characters move off in one direction and I can't make them move differently.

@ OccamsRazor
Gely not being able to move and attack is not a bug. This is done to add more strategy to the game. Besides, in many of the battles I have been through, If Gely could move and attack some bosses could be solo'ed with him.

honestly Occams i quit the game for a while because of that fight and the fact i wasnt strong enough to beat any other fights so i could beat it. but then i came back and realized it was my poor character building that kept loosing me that fight and the others u could do at that time but now ive beaten it and past all the others with relatively no problem.
the only fight left is the final optional fight which is in fact kicking my ass but i still love this game

Yes I know a lot of other people probably waltzed past the fight, but I guarantee more have quit the game because of that fight. With no way to back out of the combat, the lack of power is crippling. Most of my characters can't even retaliate because I have to split 30 points max between four characters and three tarot and only a couple have 0 power attacks. It's well done in a lot of ways, but the lack of anything like a fair fight (I don't want easy, I just want a chance without having to try the same fights over and over again to find the right combination of powers or just plain ole luck.) just leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

Then there is the shadow fight. A fight where they have 3x your hps, do more damage, are immune to approx. 75% of your attacks, are 'vulnerable' to two attacks (Gely's jelly shot does less damage against the 'vulnerable' shadows then other mobs) , don't have to worry about power, don't have to follow rules like move and shoot, have an extra character with 30k hps, are capable of killing their 'equals' in a single combat. This kind of thing ruins a game for me. I don't mind that it's hard. I don't mind that they have an advantage, but a slaughter is just not enjoyable ...especially after the first 15 or so times you fight the same fight.

Positives: Graphics, dialogue, over all story line, abilities. Bug: Gely cannot move and summon. If you move, you never get a second phase.-- Issues: No respec outside of rare items. Fights are unbalanced and on normal are exceedingly difficult. Vulnerable creatures aren't. No explanation of the importance or affects of the stats outside of the strategy guide (which I as a rule, avoid.) Monsters don't seem to follow the same rules for power consumption (30 points for potentially what, eight or more party members.) Not all of the characters have a 0 power attack, so either you can attack or defend but rarely both (especially if you use anyone's ability.) Some special abilities should be passive (movement, etc.) No random encounters.
