Description

American Villainy is a multi-chapter crime simulation game where you create a player and find yourself in the shoes of a criminal trying to move up the ranks.

The game uses a mix of Sim and RPG elements with an option to change the game to a more fantasy-esque RPG format that will be further expanded in later chapters.

American Villainy isn’t a fast paced, graphic intense gaming experience. This is a game that you can walk away from and come back to when you have the time, without feeling like you’ve missed something. But when you are playing, every action you take has a meaning and can mean the difference between getting one step closer to your goal or seeing your valuable time gone because you didn’t notice your health was too low to pull off an attempted murder.

How to Play

Game play is simple to navigate.

Point and click for most actions with some keyboard input during character creation and later in Chapter 2.

Once you are finished with character creation it's a good idea to examine your character and see where your strengths and weaknesses are. Then you'll have to experiment a little to see what actions work better for you (or check out the tooltips).

Follow the storyline and you'll figure things out pretty quickly.

The game takes so long to start up. And the progression is super slow.

I'm not sure what you mean by "takes so long to start up". Shoot me a PM and I'd be happy to make any changes that you have that would improve the game.

And when I go to settings after getting locked out (I changed nothing in the settings, I was just looking) the button is GONE

Which button is gone? Message me and I'd love to figure out what is going on.

In phoenix, I took a loan, and bought the healing a couple times, and now I'm locked out of Julio's house. Does not read as clickable.

You need a Reputation above 100 to get access to Julio's house. So, having your Rep fall below that will disable the button that takes you there. It's alluded to in the statements he makes to you. I've added a notification telling you that you don't have enough Rep to visit Julio if your Reputation is below 100 and you try to click the button. Hope this helps.

How do you raise your stats? Or are they fixed?

fatesjoke03

At the end of each chapter you get 3 points to increase stats, those you can spend any way you want. Otherwise the stats are fixed but they are randomly generated and then modified by character components you have selected. Equipment later on can also further modify stats. I'm playing with the idea of having repeated actions in the first part of the game (the prison) increase stats as well, since each action is tied to a specific attribute. I feel that will kind of reflect the time the character spent locked up. I just want to make sure I balance it out correctly.
