Hi everyone, just wanted to say thanks for all the comments and questions on the music...I have made the music available on my website (http://www.chrishurn.com/music.html) as a download now, so you can grab it as an mp3 there...cheers!

The game itself speaks about reaching your dreams and the music along with the zones near the later parts of it gives you a sense of hope that you actually can achieve that dream, to fly, but at the end of zone 10 the armadillo doesn't fly of into the sunset, he merely goes to a new zone because it truly is impossible for him to fly. No matter how many upgrades you buy or how high your score is at the end you can not escape the truth, that you cannot fly and that you were never meant to. You are an armadillo. Armadillos don't fly. Once you accept that fact you can move forwards in your life. Its not bad to dream or have dreams but it would be better if those dreams are actually achievable, or at least that's what I think. Fun game though 4/5 :D

It's pretty surprising that someone actually reads their comments and cares about what they have to say. Most game developers on this site don't even bother looking.
For sure. I'm sure for a lot of developers, there's just too many people commenting to manage it all. I probably waste a little too much time reading comments, but it's fun. :D
Agreed! One of the things I'm really happy about with the sequel is that there is almost zero loading time. Everything is just much smoother and faster all around, I'm really eager for it to be finished so I can show it off. :D

the music suits the game story so well. Flightless animals attempting to live their dream of flying through thin air, breeze lashing their faces, sunset on the horizon, but they keep falling down... and hurting themselves...
For sure. I really do think the music is the very best part of this game, and Chris did an amazing job with the soundtrack. It's really cool how a little music can tell so much of a story!

By zone two, I'm thinking of JRPG BGMs from the SNES/PS1 era, pleasant stuff. The whole team did good, and it's well-optimized, 30-60 smooth for many players I expect.
Happy to hear it runs well for you! It definitely has some performance issues and glitches on a lot of computers, but we've made everything much faster and smoother for the next one. Happy flying!

The menus are terrible, I shouldn't have to click more than once to upgrade anything. I shouldn't have to go to a completely new screen in order to start a new game.

Been stuck on the loading screen for 10 minutes now.. Is there just too many people trying to get the badge of the day at once slowing it down or does it not work with Chrome or..?

With only 470 hard badges awarded out of 21,889 medium badges awarded, something is wrong here. The problem with Dillo Hills is that the supposed player has very little control over the outcome. I am tired of unavoidable thunderclouds and vast expanses of gently rising slopes. If you can avoid landing on a gentle slope, launching off of one can give you such a low and flat trajectory that it becomes impossible to grab a downhill roll. If you do wipe out, it is difficult to start back up because you will both overshoot the next valley and undershoot the next peak. In zones 9 and 10, the final zones, you will constantly lose speed and happiness to an invisible wind, so you need to start with 5x happiness and race through to the end before you run out of steam. Contrary to some advice, crystals are helpful in the final zones, because they give you that "crystal boost" you've been upgrading. The longer I was played by this game, the lower the rating became. 1/5.
Good feedback, and I agree with pretty much everything you said. I also think 400k is a bit too high for a hard badge (something in the ballpark of 350k or even just reaching the end might have been more appropriate), but alas, I don't pick those numbers. We've definitely tried to remove a lot of the other frustrations you mentioned for the sequel, especially unavoidable obstacles, the weird difficulty curve (1-8 are boring, then 9 and 10 are unforgiving), and how difficult it is to regain momentum after a crash.

ddrchamp13: Yes, it is similar to tiny wings...and that might be an issue if it weren't for the fact that tiny wings is a rip off on earlier flash games. Oh, and arcade games.

This is the cutest little game. So cute to see how happy he gets when he gets enough speed and glides. I love the music too, adds to the feeling of being free like a bird.

THIS. is the kind of shit that screwes up little kids minds , colorful ! playful ! happy mutant armadillo dog ! woooOO! -__- teen parents , leaving your young kids online to crap like THIS is like leaving them at a bar , alone. If their over 13 , its ok , but if not , good luck dealing with dumb ass kids.

Found a bug: If you immediately press down or click after restarting the game, the Bonus Timer will not be displayed or trigger.

I don't see anybody have the hard badge recorded yet so here is mine I completed today. http://youtu.be/dgZ9buJlWGI The key to the hard badge is making sure you hit all the birds that you can and keeping your speed up. Level 9 will either make you or break you I think its the hardest.
