i think lowering the ground under his buildings is better than raising it, because the guy inside drowns to death after the building goes away

although long-term affect the plague is 1 of my fave strategys, i make a huge hill and use the plague on all the people, eventually it affects temples, Its the only thing keeping me alive aainst an AI thats everywhere.

Love this game, sure it is not perfect and some bugs are annoying, but there is a grrreat concept and an addictive game, old school style. 5/5

this game becomes dislikable. The fact that the opponent is everywhere makes this game pretty hard.(seriously 1 moment he drowns my people on 1 side the other he drowns my people on the completly other side)

I would prefer a left-click land up, right-click land down approach. Also hotkeys for the views (especially drowning!) would be very nice. Lastly a clickable mini-map. I was skeptical when I read the description (for I loved populous), but great job!

the flood spell is really useful. just create a leader, and then mass all of your followers to it. then when its like 20-30k, use flood, save your leader, and a few followers, and build a land bridge to the few weak enemies.

fun but towards the end it gets a little repative. maybe a upgrade section so you want to play more lvls? like more starting mana and recovering, etc.

i loved populous when i was younger...lion head studios made a game like this though....a lot better graphics..called "black and white.." this is still a great adaptation from the game...kudos

sometimes a unit naturally becomes greater than any hero i ever made. but you should never make heroes, they'll just get drowned.
you shouldn't even gather, because a gathering is too easily swamped.

Dubonjierugi: remember that the building score is not a counter - bigger buildings are worth more than smaller ones... this means you can get a feel for if you're really ahead or behind from it. I did start off with unlimited population but most player's PCs just can't cope with that!
axlkoegoskyeg: yep building fast is crucial, but in the higher levels it's also important to choose which direction you are going to expand first based on the map... you get less mana so it's easy to run out if you just try to flatten everything.

This game is good, but a bit too easy. Most of the time, all that you have to do is built. The hole day. Until you get enought mana to use Armaggedon. If this do not work, sabotage the enemie with Scorching Sun: that should prevent they of growing faster than you.

Love the game except I don't entirely like the population to building ratio, I just think that if I have like 493 buildings and 73 population that it's just a bit weird. Also more population would make for more awesome fights.

1) make the ground with your start point in the same height. 2) promote some1 to a leader in atleast 2 min. 3)if you like the game very much, just build WHOLE the time. 4) if u wanna kill the enemy fast, use thunder staff to destroy them, or you can just build the earth higher under the temples/huts. 5) + if these tips helped

@IRCrimson: you have switched on 'omniscience' mode, click the spell again to turn it off. You're currently watching the AI play and he doesn't get dizzy ;)

So, no way to turn off the dizzying constant cycle through combat so I can actually target and focus on things. Very poor UI design decision there. 1 star.

I just got a report that the achievement for level 15 (flat land) is not working. After looking at the code it might be necessary to lower and raise the point at the very top of the world for the goal to be recognised. I'm working on a proper fix, but this should get you the achievement for now! Sorry about that - it doesn't happen every time so I missed it in testing.

Awesome, I used to love Populous. This is a great remake. Keeps all the flavor of the orignal but modern graphics and just enough new features, 5 stars
