Great game except for one really annoying thing.... I can't get it to stop watching the battles (moving endlessly around the screen), when I would rather be messing with land heights and casting spells.

a bit to hard to flatten the land, when i want it flat it does the oppasite, when i want it hilly its flat. i think it should be a little easier t omake it flat.

A Reventing of a Old Classic. Tweak the Gameplay, add a faster Mana Regen at least.. get some lag control and make it easier to understand the basic goals. ._o lol And its a GOOD re-vamp of my old fav pop. :D

LAWL I wiped him out by lowering the grd under the central square of each of his buildings to water and letting his people drown, just had to keep the ground at water level, he kept trying to raise it. It seems the best spell though is the lightning arrow.

Great idea, revival of one of my favorite games of all times. Only 4/5 because of this critical bug: sometimes the game enters a "buggy" mode: some sprites remain fixed on screen, and it's impossible to raise/lower land anymore.

This game really got my hopes up to it sounding like it was a flash version of Black & White, amazing game, but it failed horribly to what I had in mined. Sorry.

Seemed a little tricky until i realized you can get a whole bunch more people at the start, start them sacrificing, then immediately call Armageddon.

I was just thinking earlier today that I wanted to play me some Populus, and was contemplating downloading an emulator when I got home. And I click over to Kongregate, and here this is on the front page. Thanks for making this!

Also, the lightning spear spell can simultaneously turf a building and then deep fry the owner as soon as it emerges, as long as the computer doesn't use its psychic abilities to instantaneously remove the terrain damage as soon as it happens.

@EvilCombat - this version doesn't have any indication of building strength sorry. They recover health over time (if they're damaged they repair instead of making new followers) so if you haven't hit it for a while, it'll be at full health. Quickest way to take out buildings; turf the owner and fight him instead. Next best; use a powerful (yellow glowing) follower because the stronger they are, the harder they hit. Heroes kill buildings pretty quickly with their spears too.

D: where did the flag go? The original had a flag on each building to show the health so where is it? And the fighting is also very slow unlike the original :( this one will take forever to take down a building

Strategy to win:
Build a giant mountain in the middle of the enemy's territory. The enemy can't build on the sloped surface, so all the houses are destroyed and his build rate goes down. Keep your side level, prevent his guys from getting close, and outlast him.

@enkuro - the AI doesn't cheat, so if your hero can't see the enemy guy then he'll wander around looking for him. In this situation, use the mini-map to find where the enemy is, then go over there and nuke him... or call armageddon... or make more heroes to increase the chance of one of them finding him... or drown him. Quite a few options!

dont know how to beat the game, but i like it :) 4/5 so far. i hope you make a minimap, because when i first played this game, i haven realized that my enemy has already build up lots of houses xD

This game would be much better with a way to designate raise/lower land. Without that ability its really an exercise in frustration. You are essentially gambling that the computer will interpret what you want to do. So far, for me, it doesn't do that very well.
