Nice game but the controls don't allow you to shoot and to dodge, worst, when you shoot too much, the lag prevent you from moving at all for enough time for a teamate to be killed.
Commander squad serie allows to move while shooting, it's not perfect either but the gameplay is better.
Nice game anyway (i stopped just a few ennemies after i got mary (and after she got killed ).
If it was possible, i'd rate it 3.5/5

Soldier 422:SARGE WHY IS THIS GAME NOT BADGED sarge 9: IDK SOLDIER. and then the aliens over ran sarge 9 and soldier 422. then sarge 10 spawned recruited soldier 423 and 424 but they all died. this process repeated til the game got badged..hint hint

the sequel should have your xeno destroyed by overheating and the scientists should fix it in the 5th level and you got a new bazooka and rifle with more upgrades! + if you agree.

This has to be one of the worst control schemes for this style of game i have ever seen. For the love of the video game gods, please give us some wasd/arrow key control for movement. 1/5 til then, great potential otherwise.

hmmm i would like slightly different way of moving (ie, left button click for movement and right click to shoot. so as i aim t an alien, i dont walk stright up to them) this is a solid 4.5/5 game. a little teaking to the movement as i said and it would be 5/5 n problem (maybe a choice of difficulty aswell, considering the OP'erd nature of the guns late game. jsut for another reason to max them out other than "feck yeah, you're al screwed")
Thanks for your comments. Unfortunately when I released this game Flash did not support right mouse button click, so I only had the choice of doing it this way or adding a key press for moving or firing. I'm evolving the control system, this one got less complaints than Working Stiffs at least :)

Beating the game should give max crystals. That way we can go back and play any level we like with full upgrades for fun.

The game is a solid 4-star for me, rating 5 because I appreciate the hell out of a developer who is actively involved with their commenters.

Great game and for any one struggling to finish the last level, I found it best to go back into the passage way at the bottom where you came in and let all the waves come to you. That way you don't get surrounded and overwhelmed and can spray away. Hope it helps..

Heh. I tried level 10 "rescue" mission, with almost fully uprgaded bazooka... Didnt end well. Somekind of fireproof perk would have been nice. Oh well,

grapich are a bit dull, i would prefer pixel art for this kind of game but newertheless the gameplay is good and inovating, 4/5

@fightclub69 i saw the bullets bouncing off, but i had no trouble since like i said, i could attack them from far away and they wouldn't react. you should make it so ALL bullets bounce off, in my opinion, so the rocket launcher becomes a necessity (apart from walls), or other weapons that don't bounce off anyway. I'd actually suggest incorporating the need for xeno equipment as well somehow. That should be easy by putting some sort of enemy that has an impervious shield to everything except xeno.
Thanks for the details Azgara. This game is out and viral so it's too late to change it now - but I'll bear your thoughts in mind for the sequel (there almost certainly will be one as this has been quite successful).

Nice game, you don't really need the other guys, or the xeno equip. I finished it by maxing the rifle and the guy's health and didn't need anything else. The rifle at max range hits enemies before they even see you.
Yep, I tried to balance it so you can finish the game by good use of any of the three weapons lines. Using the standard rifle you also need to put some points into bazooka to take out the walls more easily and of course the Walkers and Turrets are pretty tough because 80% of the bullets bounce off the armor.

Maxed Xeno Weapon is OP. I breezed through the last level.. It's pratically a mix between a bazooka and a machinegun. Fires as fast as a maxed rifle, and does same damage as a maxed bazooka.
Yeah it's pretty OP but it costs a ton to get there. The idea was to reward players who collect crystals from every box cos normally players skip most of them. The maxed out bazooka with homing rockets and 3x split is about the same power, and even the base gun gets pretty awesome in the end.
If it does well, I'll make a sequel and include badges! It seems to be doing pretty well so far, so keep an eye on my releases in a couple of months...
I did try that during dev, but it introduces new control problems, and you lose the nice curvy 'snake' feeling from a long conga line of soldiers. Glad you enjoyed it :)
