I don't have any trouble with the ranged aiming system. I can consistently hit Grim Blade, even vs enemies in darkness. Just wave your mouse over dark areas a couple times and click when you find an enemy.

...and for those that hate the aiming system, try out serpent arrow. It auto-seeks targets. You can fire it blind and hear it hit enemies you can't even see.

"Pro tip: ranged attacks are useless - most of your time will be spent in dungeons, where it is so dark that by the time you are close enough to see an anemy to aim at, you are already in range to swing a sword at them." >>>>>> better pro tip: that's why you take the "point blank" skill ASAP. point blank + incendiary = easy clear.

In an ironic twist of game mechanics, a level 30 Rift/Murk Blades-using Dark Lord fresh out of Normal can tank far better than a level 50 Devastation Paladin in Heroic uniques. Since attack speed never varies, only attacks that hit more than once per casting can give you the enormous amounts of HP On Hit needed to thrive on Heroic. Melee = hard mode.

The game's generally quite good and deserves a better rating than it gets, but the combat system is a real dog - holding down the mouse button queues up X strikes and woe betide thee if you want to move around, change plans, or anything else. You're stuck executing all of those attacks and in an effective wait_state until you do. Of course, all of the other maneuvers you've tried while immobilized still have to fire off too, so you're suddenly wandering uncontrollably until your action queue is clear. It's a serious playability problem and should be addressed.

...also, as a quick and dirty way to aid in aiming, you might try speeding projectiles up by about twice what they are now. would help with the constant misses when shooting at a target that isn't moving directly at you.

not bad, but I add my voice to those saying the lighting is too low. It's very hard to see; it strains my eyes too much.

The game is a bit basic but enjoyable nevertheless. The are mistakes upon mistakes in the dialog though, which does break the immersion.

It would be nice if you could enchant items on your inventory. I don't like to equip new items in order to see if they could be better than the ones that i'm actually wearing after enchanting.

Good game, but it gets tedious. I'd rather move with arrow keys and aim with mouse pointer. And maybe its just me, but I'd like to massacre the villagers (frustration beings out the evil in me).

Fun game. Could do better with more miscellaneous properties like CRIT, Loot Drop, EXP+, etc and debuffs like burn, bleed, shock, etc.

Not a bad Diablo-like game. Liked the classes being defined by the starting powers. On a side note, happy to see the return of the Money Spiders. Let's see if I can outrun a giant spider with 50 lbs of loot.

Very nice short RPG. Good numbers of monsters, of equipments. Good managing of skills. Nice idea to define a heroic mode to have a more long game. A good DIABLO like.
But, the difference betwen normal and heroic is too important. Be dead ten times in the first zone in heroic mode after finishing the normal mode without dying is FRUSTATING. It seems there are no additional skills in heroic mode ?!
In summary, a good "one day" game.

Aiming at the spiders especially was a bit difficult - made archer kinda annoying to play. The story was ok, but didn't really draw me in. Still, not a bad game.

I for one LOVE the Diablo 2 feel of this game. Already far superior to Diablo 3. ;) What you've done with attribute combinations and class selections is really original. I'd be very open to buying a more polished version down the line, if you ever decide to do that. Great job! :D

if this was an mmo id give it a 10/5 for now 6/5 coz its great but it would be awesome as an mmo think about it n then answer

Nice in alot of ways, but lacks polish and balancing. Creature control spells (living & undead) are perfect examples of this: You can only control the shïttiest tier of enemies and those are utterly useless for combat - it would have taken nothing more than a field test in 2-3 game locations with the spell to see that and make the necessary fixes.

It's much too easy. I've never felt threatened in combat even after dragging a whole map in a train behind me and into melee.

Reminds me of the original Diablo. Could use a little work on the UI (aiming, keyboard movement), but all around great game.

Damn fine flash game. Lots of good work here. Areas for improvement: an option to lighten up the display, leave chests that I loot opened up like the tombs, I don't know how to fix this one but I keep running by the enemies I'm trying to target, full screen. Still 5/5.

So, I started out as archer, with composite shot, succesfully looted some hp/hit and mp/hit thingies aaand I'm immortal. This game... I like it... ANOTHER!

Very enjoyable, but needs some improvements. I really support the idea of an aiming system - either a way to click-target or auto-target an enemy you have attacked. Also, a way for the game screen to keep the mouse cursor inside. When I try to click away to dodge enemies, I often end up clicking off-screen and opening a link on the site.

This may be a stupid question, but how do you do heroic mode? I cleared the final boss and I can't seem to start a new game in heroic mode.

@Tobzbeme: Archer's real damage increase is Incendeary (400% increase) After that, it's one-shoting everything except bosses. Archer's biggest problem (other than the aiming) is that bows appear at about 1/10 the rate of melee weapons, leaving you few upgrade opportunities, and that by using a bow, you lose out on the shield slot for enchantments.

I normally really like this game style, but this game has too many problems. Website link in the playing area is a no-no. Aiming system is too poor, and does not update where your target is when holding the attacking key. Movement is a little too quick and slippery. And honestly, the graphics are very poor for 2014. They look like something you'd expect from a 1996 game.

You automatically lose a start by putting the Armorgames website ad on the playing area. Very poor choice of placement. :(

Ranged is weak. Its damage-increasing skill, Marksmanship, only increases damage by 100% (+5% for each additional level) of dexterity.
However, melee's damage-increasing skill, Brutality, straightforwardly increases damage by 100% (+10% for each additional level). Melee damage increases much more quickly than ranged damage.

Hey, I think I found a way to aim at enemies better.
First is to shift + click on the enemy, even if they're far, just to lock on them cause just clicking causes your hero to move a lot.
Enemies are locked on when there names can be seen at the top.
Then after you've locked on to the enemy, just hold left click.
Even if you move your mouse away, you will still attack the enemy.
Effective especially to those pesky archers who keep running away when you use melee weapons.
