As a possible idea for a new mechanic, what about squares you must cross multiple times? It would let you do more than 3 turns in a row, which would be great for variability. Also, you could make a full reverse section, where the line ends and you have to go to the previous square (looking at the squares by beats with short notes as 1, medium/straight as 2 and long as 3, this would be 4 beats) or even further, with 5+ beats to a single square.

love the music and keeping the beat with change of tempo. What does .08 calibration do for/against me? Also the last level, not sure if I am just old and slow with the clicker or if there is some lag, but I seem to fall off beat on the opening run. I will keep trying cause I really want to complete that song :)

This game is great, but either it's my keyboard or something lagging because every so often it doesn't register a button hit. It's just infrequent enough to be tolerable but really infuriating. Also, the last level (3x - "Wind Up") is punishing, not because of difficulty but because you have to replay the whole song every time you die to get back to the tricky section. For such a fast-paced game like this, it desperately needs checkpoints.

Every person who ever played any instruments knows that when playing you can't always start from the beginning and when you practice you start from the places which you play worst. I would love to see a "practice" option in this game.
Yeah I was literally just thinking about how i practice the piano by going over sections! I would love to implement something where you can sort of select a section of the song to practice. That was the whole intention of the tutorial levels, of which the song is pretty much comprised of, but I guess it didn't work as well as I hoped.

I'd REALLY like to be able to see if im pressing too early or too late, brcause sometimes I feel like I pressed correctly and thegame didn't see it. If at least I knew if it was too early I could try to improve next time.

Great game, veeeery addictive, my arm hurts lol (and my mouse will soon be dead, for the game is colourful and full of clicks).
It would be greater though if internet bugs wasn't putting me off beat -_-...
Use the keyboard! And alternate keys with left and right hands, or just two different fingers on the same hand. It'll give much better results. :) (You will probably need to recalibrate though)

After losing so many times before getting to the end i got bored and tried doing it with my eyes closed xD (Still failing at the end tho)

Love the idea of this game, fun hard and simple at the same time. But very very frustrating if you miss a 'note' while you click in the same pattern. I get why you call 3-x The windup, because I can feel my rage coming on! No just kidding, but it might be an idea to add some checkpoints, or a variation where you passed a part of the song a few times and then you 'earn' the checkpoint. It's just annoying if you know you can get to a certain point but you have to do the rest all over again.

Really liked level 3-4 SSSSSS, for the beat and music. Also loved levels 1-X and 2-X--great music and awesome patterns! Great game!

the fact that if you have trouble passing the latter part of the level you have ot redo the whole thing over and over again is quite annoying :/
I mean, I just did the first song like 30 times because I had trouble with he stairs, so I spend like 1 minute each time to get there and fail, I'd much rather fail after 10 secs :/

Can you give us an option to skip the short stages? I want to replay 1-X, but I have to go through the tutorial stages again, and it annoying.

This game is phenomenal and is easily the best game i have played in quite a while. I haven't replayed a rhythm game this much since Coolie Niato was still around!

btw even if there is automatic calibration can you please explain what the numbers exactly mean? Because i did it multiple times and i get different values
ok i've edited my reply to add an explanation. If the difference in your values every time you do it is like 0.01 to 0.04 seconds ish then it's not a big problem cause the timing window is about 0.07 seconds anyway!

Description is spot on. Second hardest ryhthm game ever. But very addictive. Been stuck on 2-x offbeat for a while now but cant stop playing. Great use of Unity.

About the game description, it said 'the second hardest one-button rhythm game you will ever play'
Well, then what is the most hardest one-button rhythm game?

Expanding on Athang's Comment: what if instead of auto-generated paths from imported music, how about user generated content, where they upload there files to a server, and people can play them.

I think you should reconsider 1-X; so much of nothing happens during the majority of intro causing mistakes to be that much more annoying and off-putting for the start of a game. Whereas 2-X is fun right from the start and is overall more enjoyable.

Let us start in the middle of a track. It's pointless to start at the beginning only for it to be correct every time and then forget what's needed to be done near the middle or end.
yeah i have! It would take a while and it remains to be seen if I can make something that would fit most kinds of music e.g. straight paths and a variation at the end of each bar.. or something. But it looks like it'll be pretty difficult, I'm content with looking at make-your-own-levels-and-share-them for now. Soundodger tried to do the autogen levels but it didn't really work in that game so I'm uncertain

i dont know if its just me but on level 2-x offbeat, around 58% when the map rotates... it actually goes offbeat.. should it do that? i mean i know its called offbeat but that is just... wrong

So awesome. Just one thing - There should be checkpoints :'( like accelerator game lets you start at speeds in the multiples of hundred, once you reach that multiple. Or save game in between a song. Too long to keep my focus. I always spoil it at 80% and have to restart. Feels unfair. Couldn't even complete the long level after trying so much.
