Good grief! Does anyone have any tips on insane? I abandoned Africa and focused on developing North America and Europe. I survived until turn 22 which I consider an accomplishment! They start pounding you on turn 11. Great game by the way!! 5/5

all these people are relating to the game "risk" ive never played it, so can someone advise me if i will still enjoy this or not?
Risk is an old board game. Risk is not a bad game, but it's not designed for online play. It's designed to be played around a table over a couple hours. Online, we don't live by the same constraints, so the rules in WarLight fit better to online play.

at the beggining i was: "oh! a risk game, i like that" when i reached level 3 and saw the ubbermap I was like: "5/5!5/5!5/5!5/5!5/5!5/5!5/5!5/5!5/5!"

Winning strategy: If you start in the middle of a large landmass restart your game until your on an island or right next to one. Next take over the territories immediately surrounding you (depending on where you start this may mean a whole continent) until you've made it so that the enemy can only get to you through three or four territory's. Next use on of these "gateway" territories to evade the smallest accessible land mass (remember islands are your friends) and use your spare armies to beef up your other gateway countries. Once you have two fairly secure groups of territories under your control try to expand around the edges of the map. Going for the center of a large number of territories will only get you killed. If you're careful and advance with caution you'll be able to surround the huge land masses on all sides then you can move in for the kill.

You should make it where your settings stay when you make a custom game, it gets tedious having to in-put the cards every time.

The game is overall enjoyable, but i found navigating around the map a bit annoying. If I tried to transfer to a country on the edge of the map, the window would be stuck halfway into the right side of the screen and I would have to drag it back over. Otherwise, I liked it. 4/5.

Caderyn, I am fine with AI being intelligent, I typically play games on the highest difficulty available... I am not fine with the AI clearly basing it's moves off of my own. I even tried attacking 3 places at once and the AI just happens to know that every time, and reinforces all 3 to the best of it's abilities. Eventually they do get overwhelmed because you can abuse said behavior to it force them to waste armies while you suck up all the other countries with a tiny force, but that is hardly what I would call strategic, more like pedantic. Granted, an excellent idea, even decent execution, just seriously lacks the fun factor if you aren't into grindy games.

A pretty good Risk clone. The AI is quite clever which is nice to see. The only thing I don't like is the simultaneous turns, it's an interesting twist on Risk but it means romping through poorly defended enemy land with a surprise large army is impossible.

Adding to my comment. I think the allied teams should be more clear. Maybe similar colours for the same alliance (Dark blue, light blue). Because it's really important. You need to make sure the other alliances are fighting each other or else you have no chance.

I don't understand: Level 5 (the 'crazy' one), at the start it says '2 factions are fighting for world dominance...' or something.

A great game, though when I save it doesn't save to my profile, so when I switch computers I have to start from the top. Still, challenging and engrossing.

Cheebsta, the thing about artificial intelligence is that occasionally they do something intelligent, like reinforce the place that has been attacked multiple times and is therefore likely to be attacked again. On the contrary, the AI plays intelligently, which is more of a challenge.

Good idea, but the AI sucks, it should not reinforce the sector you are trying to attack *every* single time, I don't always know where it will attack, it should not always know where I do either.

,aside from that,great game,i dunno,but i think you have added all that can be added to such a game though,so maybe put out a little more maps,then make a new "risk" game,where you maybe make your own speseficx soliders,use tech and such?atleast i want you to continue the risk games.

Here are my thoughts by level: -1- Ok, a risk-esk game. Obviously just the tutorial level. -2- Ok, so there will be lots of neutral countries. No cards though... huh. -3- Hey, I guess they WILL add ca.. HOLY COW THIS MAP IS HUGE!!!!

Finally, one of the best AI's I've ever seen! As long as the AI gets the same bonuses as the player, I can respect its aggressiveness and initiative.

i don't know about anyone else but i just played level one for awhile just to take over the whole world and leave my opponent with just 1 country :P

@bintang760 - You have to click the spot you want to take troops from first, input the amount you want to move, click next, then click on the destination territory.

Wow! This is great! I've been looking around for a risk game that was single player and here it is. I've only played the first two maps, but I love it already. The fog is a really neat addition and I love the looks of the larger map. 5/5

I beat the crazy challenge! Started in Africa and took it over, guarded the south with about 20 armies then sent up about 50 armies to France, and a ton up to Saudi Arabia. I had hundreds of armies in there late in the game. Meawhile I went to South America and took that over and then North America and across to Europe. I was lucky that the guy in Europe seemed to be busy on the eastern front and couldn't be bothered attacking me on the west, which allowed me to focus my attention on the US and Canada.

Hey, Finland is not part of scandinavia, we're part of fennoscandia. Only Norway and Sweden are in scandinavias peninsula. Cos' I'm Finn I don't like your mistake in game. Still this is great game 5/5 :)

I' ve played the insane challenge a couple of times now and i wonder if it's actually possible to complete it because when our armies meet after a turn of 8 they just outnumber me and crush me every single time :s

I love how you adapted the classic here, love it. Anyone having any luck on the insane challenge? I can only get to about turn 15 before they just start pounding me. I think the trick may lie in abandoning two of the start positions and just concentrating on defending one area, but which one is best?

Does the cpu hoard cards or something? Unless the other 2 cpus only have a couple of territories and the one cpu I'm fighting owns the rest of the board I don't know how else he can be dropping upwards of 60 armies on my doorstep. Friggin fog of war I can't plan for my opponents strength if I am not aware of what he's been up to
