A pause button, so you could make sure you are getting the right combinations would make all the difference in the word. Then a *10 button as well.

To play the hidden Valentine's Day level at any time, change the clock on your computer to February 14 and reload the game. It will then appear on the world map for you to play if you have completed worlds 1-10, and you can get an extra 6 upgrade points and gold medal!

Scrolling around the map is a bit cumbersome. A static zoomed out view (ala Bloons) would've made the game more approachable.

For the badge... I already posted an earlier one with all the impure 3 grades, but White(Thunder) Yellow(Wind) Green(Earth) = Teleport; White(Thunder) Green(Earth) = Confuses and Instant Death is Blue(Water) White(Thunder) Green(Earth)

A combination of the slow speed, zoomed in map, some what tedious upgrading system and amount of steps for each upgrade (making upgrades hard to keep track of which is not good considering you can not remove a gem).
Puts me and from what I can see some others off of this game. Just seems as though the cons out number the pros.

Having the medals given by "points" sucks. Any level where you survive all 50 rounds should give you the top credit for beating the level. "You won, but you didn't do it in a way I liked."

Very nice TD, one of my favorites ever. Love the music and the cute shrooms.
It has its flaws, however, for instance the difference between 1x and 3x speed isn't REALLY much, although If you get used to it you can build while in 3x and never go back to 1x (unless you want to build many towers/think). Another thing I'd say is letting me down is the whole grind to build/upgrade a shroom. It takes a shitload of clicks to select-upgrade-select again-upgrade and to put gems in slots (and accessories). It's very annoying when you have to make many towers.
So I started playing tonight, made it through the first 4 levels with the gold medal (not on the first try in most of them) and now it seems I've been trying level 5 normal for about 2-3 hours... -_- I will beat this game, however. As long as that marching theme plays on, I shall! :D

Hard Badge: The highest damage comes from pure towers at level 6. The best is white, then red, blue, yellow, green. Make sets of different pure color towers at the junctions where you can hit the track twice. After you get a few upgrade points put your points into damage, money, longer waves, lives, and get one starter item. Restart until the starter item you get is the doll. Place this in your main killing tower at the start of the game. This tower now doubles your score for kills guaranteeing a gold medal. On levels 9-10 it is better to favor building white and reds first. For level 10 this method starts to leak a bit so I would suggest playing level 10 on the short mode, setting your computers clock to Feb 14th, reloading the game, and playing the valentines day world. You need to have completed level 10 on short for the world to show up. The valentines level is only 30 waves whereas level 10 normal is 75 waves. It saves you a lot of time if you are just after the badge.

The tower upgrade process is soooo tedious - click, place, click, upgrade, click, upgrade, buy gem, buy gem, buy gem, click, drag gem, drag gem, drag gem, upgrade, click, upgrade, click upgrade - FINALLY! A lvl 6 tower, in just 18 clicks. Now just do that ten more times. Could really use a duplicate button. Now you get to wait for oodles and oodles of repetitive waves to come and if you call the waves early you actually lose money because the passive cash upgrade only counts time elapsed and not time you'e skipped. Uggh, it's just all too clunky.

I can't get past level 10. Does anyone have suggestions for strategy? I put down a wealth mushroom first, then work on all the pures and some machine guns. Then I put down life plus mushrooms and more pure ones. Yet I always die around wave 63/65. I end up having enough money, but I simply can't make enough mushrooms as fast as the enemies come on those last 5 waves. What's your best working strategy?

it's a nice game, i like the different combinations! but a level is way to long in my opinion.. maybe it's because i die always at the 21-22 waves and this is just the short mode.. doing it all over again it's a bit frustrating!

1) level is way too long 2) hard to get skill points to upgrade 3) gems are really good and need more combination to give u tactical advantages. good game 4/5.

it totally sucks playing a level for an hour only to die for NOTHING...makes it a little more challenging than most games. it's a fun game otherwise but could use a few improvements like a x10 speed button, don't die for nothing, and make the gem thing easier for people to understand, they're quite useful.

I enjoy these games, but I have to agree that they should make it possible to play at a faster speed. Also, if I use the WASD buttons to scroll, I get stuck on the right side of the screen (this has happened to me on multiple computers). Agree with ChaoticWerewolf that upgrading desperately needs to be streamlined and that level 5 is a pain- I died on the last level with about 10 enemies left on the screen- why??!

One of the easiest ways to get a bigger score is to increase your max lives. At the end of the level you get 2000pts x lives which adds up quite a bit towards your medal.

I look into the developer's profile and i really don't understand how he made this one real game among all that… well thanks to whoever encouraged him.

Muaha, in case anyone else is mildly obsessive like me, I've done the math for which elements deal the most raw damage. I figured this by finding each towers' average damage and dividing it by their attack speed to find damage/tick for each. In descending order; #1) water, 30.9 #2) Neutral, 29.8 surprisingly enough #3) Fire, 29.4 #4) Lightning, 28.7 #5) Wind, 28.2 #6) Earth, 25.7. That's all at level 5 and not including any bonuses. Also note that when looking at it from purely raw damage, the sniper and machine gun lightning towers actually deal out more straight up damage. The sniper tower only deals out a bit more than water, 32.4, but the machine gun actually pwns face at freaking 56.5 dam/tick, although if my calculations are correct triple damage effect for fire tower would result in 42.6 dam/tick on average, but with rather sporadic damage. So yeah, there ya go. I figured I'd share that just in case anyone else found it useful for any reason.

Why is there no "placement mode" (i.e. pause the action on the screen, but still have the ability to place and modify units)? I found not having this rather frustrating on the second level.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
overall the game is ok for a tower defense, the only thing I really "hate" about this game is the annoyingly long levels. even at x3 speed I am still playing a level from 30-45 minutes at a time. Though, I've only played 4 levels so far, the strategy feels always the same. Build shrooms at cross roads, upgrade them quickly, add more shrooms, rinse and repeat. The skill points just makes it easier.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Really nice game, but the upgrade system is really annoying. It takes like ages to place a lvl5 tower with 3 gems. I would like to add purchased gems directly to the tower selected. I don't see why i should buy one and not directly use it. The deselect after upgrades is awful too. Just a suggestion for a sequel, cause I hope there'll be one.
Btw the relevance of skill points is too significant for me, the difference between almost golden and complete failure lies often in a lack of some skill points. Thanks to the valentine glitch no problem if you really want he badge.

My only complaint is that with 3/3 money over time you lose money if you call a wave early. (with 1/3 you still earn money, with 2/3 it doesn't matter either way)

Sorry but this is poor. 1) 45 long, tedious waves and no pause. What am I supposed to do if the phone rings? 2) The scrolling map's annoying. Just make the window bigger or the graphics smaller. 3) Tedious upgrade mechanics. Why can't I just drag a gem to a shroom instead of clicking on the shroom and dragging to the dialog box? 4) Only one kind of tower. Just build equal numbers of the different gems and you'll do fine. 5) Inflexible upgrades: you can't remove gems from towers to change their type. 6) The word "gomphus" is dumb. 7) You tell me a gomphus looks like a mushroom. Great, the map is already filled with things that look like mushrooms. So I can just build a gem and drag it to a... wtf? Now I have no money so all I can do is reload the game.
