PS - just noticed the instructions show you can switch between shooting at the top of the screen and the bottom by pressing the 'v' key. pretty cool since enemies don't shoot upwards...

like sid meiers' pirates, but no exploration or piracy. Also, cannons only shoot on the side of your ship that is closer to the top of the screen - if your ship is pointed at the top of the screen, it can be difficult to tell which side that is. Would be super nice if cannonballs fell into the water after a certain distance... this game isn't too bad.

the guns fire on which side is higher than the other so u cant aim at anything below you towards bottom of screen durrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

gameinabottle's version in all honesty is alot like this yes, but 1 starting points are different. 2 the game laggs WAY less. 3 this one has better setup like what says cannons, which is crew and hull integrity.

This is an EXACT copy of Gameinabottle's Treasure of Cutlass Reef, released a year later?
Either it's been shamelessly stolen and repackaged under a new name, or Gameinabottle sold it and allowed it? Does anyone know which?
I don't understand why anyone would buy a already released game a year after launch and then just re-release under a new name? 1/5.

quimper at the bottom where it says how many cannons are loaded there is 2 arrows that point up and down, not greatest if your sideways but good if you travelling across the bottom or top ;)

Yes, you can change the direction. Which just furthers the problem since the cannons keep switching direction randomly. If i fire of the rocket power, it might go either way. What i meant was that id like some visual indication on what direction the cannons are facing so i know if i have to press V 'before' i blast off half of the cannons or the fireworks. I dont wanna have to gently tap the fire button every 10secs or so just to "test shoot"

So far, this is the best version of the pirate ship genre flash game I've played. Unless there's a much better one and I don't know it?
BTW, Krimper, read the instructions in-game. Press "v" to switch cannon direction.

Lag makes it unplayable around lev 15. Theres no price on armor upgrade. Theres no way of telling which direction the cannons are facing. And since the ship decides to switch randomly unless you just cruise back and forth at the bottom, that is a problem. Other than those bug fixes, its a charming game. Would be even nicer if there was no upgrade cap beside some kind of X^2 development on price.

The only thing that makes this different than cutlass reef is different difficulty ranks a different map and the name...other than that its a complete copy

Great game, brilliant content and i like the upgrades, a second one with quests, towns and cities maybe and some badges would be excellent and this game would surely get a 5/5 from me, this version is great fun.. for about 10 minutes, the replayability is quite low and there's little customisation of the ship, crew etc, so for now, a solid 3/5 from me

hit the jackpot with this game, should make it like a trading game too, where you can upgrade ur ships and fight pirates in between
