I think the problem is, I played it so many times while testing that I got too good at it to accurately judge how hard it would be for other people. Anyway, I just uploaded two videos to youtube showing two ways to get past the first wave of centipedes:

I get the feeling that the developer has never actually tried playing the game. Not only is it exceptionally cruel to players but also what Frostytrees calls an example of a good strategy is actually a sure way to die in the third wave.

so yeah, tried your strat frostytrees, umm, so i take it i need to upgrade at the exact split second otherwise i get screwed? that's pretty much what has been happening

Even using the "tips" posted from the author about one full page below this led to almost total death on wave 2. Few people will return again and again to a game that is this swifty cruel.

I love this genre, but this is just punishment with no chance to enjoy what you're doing and no real strategic thought involved.

After several tries, I have to agree with the concensus. This doesn't feel very strategic/tactical... this is a game of guessing exactly what towers will work when and where. I'm guessing there is virutally no variation allowed on what towers and upgrades to choose to get bast the first wave of centipedes.

Finally a TD that doesn't just hand you the win!! I've only played it a few times, but the fact that I'm still on the 7th wave tells me I'll be back for more...

Too hard, too fast, music is highly obnoxious, no tutorial. Dial it back a few few notches and it might be a decent game. As it, unplayable. 2 starz.

Rediculously unbalanced. It's more a game of 'guess' the exact sequence the creator had in mind. Need more flexibility and balance. Look forward to it once that happens.

Bloody hard, even doing what the tips suggest. As it is now, trash. 3/5 for trying. Will re-rate on update. Nice music.

This has to be my favorite new TD game... for all those people who think it's too hard, I'm glad to finally find a TD where just throwing all your money into whatever sloppy defense you want will always win. You have to THINK to beat this one, and trial and error are needed to find success. A firm 4/5, and if it had more options and a few other choices for music I'd up my rating to 5/5.

one good strategy: build 3 small artil. towers and upgrade their reload / damage. then, when you have enough money to buy a heavy artil tower (including money you can get from selling all but one of the light artil towers), sell 2 of the light towers and buy a heavy. upgrade its damage, then rate. time your upgrades during the brief period between waves.

DarkReality: Yes I wrote / tested it. I can get to wave 50+. It takes a few tries to learn the tricks.
Clearly, people find this game too hard, so I intend to release an update that lets you select difficulty level.

this is near impossible without at least 3 of the cheapest towers fully upgraded. too hard. 3/5 because of its lack of pause feature and user unfriendliness.
lots of potential, work on the music and effects (special towers, explosions, etc)

Jesus christ did you even test this? Kudos if the code is yours, but PLEASE make this enjoyable and not "if you can't toss trucks don't even try this" hard.

There needs to be a difficulty choice for those of us who like to kill some time but not deal with the frustration of an insane challenge. Up grades are nice and looks good

agree with everyone below, love tower defense games, but this one is way too difficult at the beginning. but the graphics are very good, a pause in between waves would be good

I agree the difficulty curve is odd, but don't get me wrong, I like the difficulty at the start, it makes you think and try new things, which is good for the start of a game. But after you get past wave 10 or so, it becomes ridiculously easy... Until wave 45, then its instadeath. Leaves you feeling cheating and like you wasted a bunch of time.

-- Game starts too fast. You need a 15-30 second setup period before things start showing up
-- You dont start with enough money to build enough towers (of any combination) to stop even the first wave of enemies.
-- The upgrade system is unique, but requires some further digging to fully understand how it works.

cool game BUT too gast and too hard. a good td should give you the chance to buold a proper defense line before the tough guys come. it's all about having fun, which goes down the tube if you die after a couple of waves.

Would be very nice to have a pause after every wave, when a slower wave is followed by a faster one thy intermingle and the guns aim at the first wave first so the faster wave gets through. Also would be really nice to get an nice aoe weapon capable of doing real damage to those linking guys.

Tower defence games are amongst my favourites but not this one. Why? There is no time to set up some proper defenses at the start of the game, and the creeps are a bit hard to kill a bit too early on in the game. 3/5 but definitely has potential.

As the previous posters have said slow it down, maybe start with more money or drop the prices a bit. Could be good, hopefully see a version 2???

wow does this game blow hard. It is probably one of the most unbalanced TD games. No Pause between waves nothing that can kill things fast enough to survive. WOW 1/5 lower if i could.

made it to level 10 by building 3 laser towers, but then the centiped creep comes along... can we rate lower than a 1?

You really need to slow down the waves cause when you get a really slow one then the next wave starts before you can kill the first 1
