This game series had so much potential. I really like the deckbuilding aspects and I love forming words. I would also happily pay money to play this game. Too bad it is barely playable anymore due to the outdated technology. And it was always just shy of greatness. More transparent scoring, more control for the letters you get. It feels like it could have always done just a little better.

I tried to use the Word of the Day, and the game said that it was an invalid word. That pretty much tells you all you need to know about this game.

Kongregate, stop lying. The tab name is, and I quote, "Play Clockwords: Act I, a free online game on Kongregate." It is not free.

I second missing the boiler. How come it won't take language names or name of continents? Since when is Asia or Spanish not a word?

I liked being able to choose the new letters with their powers, but not just losing letters I didn't want anymore. Combining the letters into a reality of variety was the best way of using different words. Now we have the same level 1 & 2 letters for more difficult enemies.

This game is still amazing. I guess that the lesson is that as a developer, you can never take anything you once gave away no matter how much you give in its stead. The psychology overwhelms the added value. This is still a great game and should be rated as such.

You killed the end game. You took away the two most valuable, now purchaseable, types of letters... as 'premium'. It means the game inevitably out-matches the players artifactually. You added some cool features, but you screwed the overall game. Sorry man, you really crapped the bed on this sequel. Not impressed. Get it together, make the next sequel save the series, or you can bet you're going to lose a large fanbase. Oh, and P.S., it deleted my progress on top of that. So... 1/5

ok lets see what this game is like compared to prelude Pros: new letters, new enemies Cons: Uglier, demo game, no boiler, laggier....

I think the prelude was way better. Come on, guys! Locking down the Jade and Brass letters? You are just gonna lose more and more players! There are other ways to earn money! And, you removed a lot of things that we needed, and liked, like the storage, the boiler, and definitely the Jade/Brass letters! I am kind of worried that it will be like Megaman: Making more and getting worse.

if i log in with faceboo t adventure button no longer works i hav latest flas and java and problem persists through both hrme and ie8

Tip: Get the download version of the game, this will not enable all features I believe, but you do get a lot. You get the Jade and Brass letters and the minigames. Don't know if you get the last 2 acts too yet, but maybe you do.

When I saw this game was out, I immediately remembered the first and rated it 5 stars. The second I saw the facebook crap, it dropped to 4, and premium content dropped it to a 2.
This is quite possibly the worst sequel I could have imagined.

This game became incredibly easy once I realized that you could string together 20 three letter words and completely rape the length bonus.

While I could rant about the Premium Content, I choose to direct this comment towards something more game-breaking. I played this game yesterday, getting to Stage 3 (but obviously no farther). When I came back today, I found that all my progress had been reset. Do we need to buy the game to *save* it now?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I'm giving this game a 3/5. Taking away some of the content that was free in the first game was a damn foolish move. However, the ability to choose the difficulty, while adding in new enemies, saved this game from total failure.

definitely better than prelude, i liked it a lot better because of the ability to purchase the upgraded letters, and the ability to choose difficulty :)

wow talk about killing a pretty neat game. looks like the game was hacked to shit, a lot of things that were good (the boiler) were removed and a lot of garbage was added
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I would have given this 5/5 if I could PLAY it, because the gameplay is wonderful and amazing. But you've locked away so much content that what's left is 3/5. :(

try to keep playing beyond level 2 in other words put continue when you end this one and STFU (this glitch only works on here)

I understand that large scale flash games need to make money but unless you have an original concept (like VVVVVV) people aren't going to choose to purchase your game over a good eBay 2005 one for the same price.

I love this sort of game, and the Prelude was really well done. I like the addition of more different effects bubbles and the continuation of the storyline through the stages is neat in Act 1. The omission of the boiler is a misstep. It makes me sad to incinerate the letters I don't want anymore. The pay-for-play though, is just silly. I would honestly consider it for, say, an ipod game, but Kong? meh. I'll continue to play it, because I love anagram-type games and there are relatively few on kong, but I'm disappointed in the direction this series is going.
