Shame that Kongregate "stopped". At least I can pull this out from time to time, I've very nice memories with this game. So great!

it's 2021 and I really miss this game. Anyone find a way to play it, or has the author got a updated version somewhere? the Flash player Chrome extension that was suggested doesn't do anything to make the game run online.

3 star because the game does not recognize many types of words such as some names of nations, some names of weekday and month, not to mention it does not even recognize internet, f-word etc.

This game was a lot easier when I pretended I was playing against some really old man. "Zounds", yes. "Outfield", definitely. "Phishing" no. And... many other words, no.

Still one of the best games to play to get the brain rolling. It's genuinely fun, wonderful and very unique idea, and even fun to play with people watching since having more people pooling words can be helpful.

Still not exactly sure what's happening in the "game", but I like the puzzles. Way too confusing as to what the boiler and transmuter and the rest is all about. The idea to make words with the available letters is interesting.

it's too bad this game seems to have died... Act 1 is still not made, the website is empty and the blogs of the creators have become obsolete/non-reachable :(

FINALLY got the hard badge. My best advice is stick with a batch of letters you're good with. If you blank out on J's like me, don't use it. Jade letters and a vocabulary full of 1-3 power level letters and a few 4-5 goes a long way.

Kobisjeruk is on to something. Add words to his list until it fits the entire height of your screen, then make your browser window smaller so the list fits next to it, and cruise the levels until you have that hard badge.

I tried to enjoy this game, I really did, but I just can't get over how all the real progress in it comes from grinding to fuel an anti-exponential upgrade process. And the fact that a ton of good, valid words aren't listed in this dictionary (even though the parent company does list them!) didn't help.

So far, I don't think I've had any problems with actual words not registering. Was very surprised to see that "Lagomorph" (Hell, my browser doesn't even recognize it as a word), "Incest", and "Adultery" were all valid (I used them for the bonuses, shush). Honestly a really fun game though, I like how you can collect letters as you progress and combine them into more valuable ones. Not some linear garbage where you hop level to level endlessly with no sense of accomplishment or reward.

As many others have said, it's pointless saying there's a bonus for word of the day on dictionary.com when said word is not recognised as a real word.

Since when "Texas" is a word and "Latin" is not? There are so many things it doesn't register. Well, it is quite stupid for a machine so intelligent. On a side note "Coming soon" in a nine years old game.

For being presented by Dictionary.com, they really need to add more words to the dictionary. Lots of basic words are considered invalid...

There's a system that nullifies damage for words already used, but the game only keeps track of the last 20 used words. So all you have to do to beat the game is to craft a dictionary of at least 21 words, type it until the end and repeat. Works particularly well with Ragnarr's strategy (filling your boiler with just F, L, and Y). I absolutely love this game! I still get surprised by how some words made the cut as real words, such as some viral enzyme called neuraminidase!
