Read a little on the laser chains/laser rocket combo and on my 1st attempt scored a 434,090,340 on the Lyne map. My high score by far at this point. I'll have to keep tweaking this idea.

@hadro - your right a sandbox mode would be cool. I spent 20 minutes tonight reading about layouts for lazzer chains and i'm still having a heck of time getting them to work.

loved this game got to level 176 before I crapped out :)
It would be cool if there were super large combos that took like 20+ that did super large damage to deal with the huge HP in the higher levels

Well, I made it to wave 505 with 2 black holes, but unfornutaley scored zero points or cash after wave 144, so my score was only123,689,810.

Fun, but it would be much better if there was a steady progression of difficulty. As it is, I can set up a few towers and let it auto-run up to about 110 or 120 with no effort... at which point it suddenly becomes impossible. Smooth out the difficulty and this could get truly addictive fast.

here's the trick... it also works on tower defense...
1 - make a huge map, that's like a maze. this will mean that the enemies will take an extreme amount of time just to get halfway through the map.
2 - begin the game. place down anything you can afford and keep hold of space, the waves will increase around 3 waves per second, giving you a final high score of around over wave 1000+ (depending on how big your map is...)

I like the upgrading system you have, but i think the transition from doing well to can bearly kill one for levels 90+ is to anomynous.

I was looking through some of the high scores and...How in the world does anyone get these scores of 1 million or more? I've had 3 black hole combos with laser rocket and nuke combos and only managed 130 thousand range. I've tried laser chaining, but still never managed over the 130's. I've got to figure out something new to get me past the 140's waves.

Very amusing game. Seems to have a point where you quite suddenly go from doing excellently to being dead, within a span of just a moment or two. Other than that, it's a lot of fun.

I really enjoy this game, but right at about wave 130, the difficulty jumps way up too fast. I'll have like 20 laser rockets suddenly get wiped out with one wave at hat point. Then it's pretty much over as my other combos seem to do little or nothing to stop them.

It certainly needs tweaking, but the game itself is every bit as good as Desktop Tower Defence is annoying. I like it very much.

Here's my take on the game:
The good:
+ The combos are are a good idea. Wish there were more of them. They are really what makes the game interesting.
+ Map editor.
The bad:
- There's one tactic (LOOOOONG laser chains) that is clearly superior to other tactics; it detracts from the game when you know that you don't have alternative ways of getting the highest scores: laser chaining option should either be removed, limited, or ways to strenghthen other combos to comparable levels with long laser chains should be added.
-The fact that every game has to end in failure to defend my stick figures! I like the TowerDefence way much better, where you get extra points for calling in waves of enemies early, and there is a finite number of levels, so that you can actually beat the game.

First off, this is a very fun game. It seems a little too easy at the beginning, and then when you get to around 130 waves, it becomes incredibly difficult. It might be better to change the difficulty levels a little more evenly.

Just keep 1 fully upgraded rocket tower in the middle and put the upgrade towers next to it. After level 100, you have to start putting more towers

What I've learned to do is build multiple laser rocket combos (red + green turrets). Build them near the entrance to keep the enemies completely destroyed.
