Though not an original game in itself, I do enjoy Zilch as an online automated game. It's a lot easier when a computer scores for you. :) I think it ought to get a badge or two. I don't know what you guys are talking about with it being too hard, I've won a couple of times. It just comes down to luck and a tiny bit of knowing when to quit, like poker and such.

for all of you who call this rigged, have you actually played it for more than two minutes.....? Also, thank you for not putting music in this game. I love the sound effects and music would just screw it up.

omg i dont care what he said, so rigged, i got to 10,000 and the comp had that 1 roll, and he got a little over 2,000 points with it to win, so gay

i had a game like this, except it was called "Greed". gold, emerald, diamond, ruby. and yeah.... thats pretty much just what this game is.

hmm let me get this straight... the game is not rigged but when i am 5000 points ahead the computer gets a 4000 point roll... hmm

Overall, it's a good game. It's good to see that he's working on fixing the bugs. It keeps me coming back, so I hope to see some badges for this game.

I suppose this just means that I'm bad at the game, but it seems to involve vastly more luck than skill. My first game was against a Reckless opponent, who averaged about 800 points per turn while I took three unavoidable zilches in a row (i.e. I zilched before getting 300 points). The second game went pretty much the opposite way.

Re: Skill
Don't insult those of us who suspect something is up. I'm fairly sure the majority of us are fully aware that it's better to roll 3 dice or more, and to bank if you've only got 1 die to go(barring under 300 scores).
Re RNG:
It's impossible to make a truly random computer RNG. Even regular dice have differences in the paint/notches that will favour one side over the other. Perhaps we are witnessing the Skynetting of this AI...

its obviously random guys chill out and stop degrading gabys score cause u lost to a CODE. aka a bunch of numbers and letters in the form of a function

@playerofbeans:
maybe people don't know the rules well enough, and don't know they can do that, so they handicap themselves that way. That might explain why people feel the CPU player has an advantage (although i've never seen a cautious player choose just onew 5 when there are 2)

I actually play almost this SAME exact game in real life... we just call it 10,000 though. We also have the rule of a "doubler die"... on the first roll of your turn, you roll 1 extra die and guess the number. If you call it, everything is doubled that round. If you call it AND get triples of THAT number (call 1 and get 3 ones, not counting the doubler die), you quadruple that roll (above example would be 4000 pts instead of 2000).
BTW the "luck" aspect has gave me 17 consecutive "single five" rolls... Plus side: 3 "free" rerolls... downside, it's freakin single fives!

@all -- sorry for acting like a know-it-all -- didn't mean to come across that way. I just live and breathe computer science and happen to have studied this game :-)

I guess he only way to make sure this game is not rigged was to play it a lot/ And I did that.
There is no cheating on the part of the CPU player, the distribution of rolls is exactly as you'd expect when they'e all random. The people that are most vocal about cheating just got very unlucky.

@Etterra -- granted that the computer is immune to clicking the wrong button, the AI still can't be perfect. The game is not computationally solvable; in math terms, the solution involves several infinite series and indefinite integrals that have no closed form. It could probably be trained imperfectly with a machine learning algorithm and kick our butts though, much like they've done in computer chess.

Loved this game with real dice -- great conversion to flash!
@Valen: Studied this game as a research project in undergrad Probability -- it's a strange game. Scores tend to be tortoise or hare, there's little middle ground; it's more likely that you would score 4000 than 2000, and 1500 is very low for a "high" score. Of course, it's far more likely in all cases that you score less than 1000. The strange divide between low and high has to do with the high value of the good combos and the free roll when all six dice are used.
In other words, it's not rigged. If it gave an even distribution of scores, like you seem to expect, *then* I would say it's rigged.

See the thing the author doesn't realize by bragging about how fair his computer player is, is that the computer can always choose to make the correct decision (unless he built in a random "do something stupid on purpose" algorithm) and never makes mistakes - such as accidentally clicking the wrong button.

If your awards don't save, check the light above the Kong chat and make sure its green. I don't have a problem, still have all my awards..

computer isnt rigged my fing arse.
he was at 8500 and got a 1500.. next game two rolls with free rolls and then another 1500. f that

Great game. Great AI. Very well thought out and presented :) Works as a great test of AI if the game doesn't cheat but people find it hard to beat.
