I've always loved the gemcraft series, this is the first time I've rated one of these low and it's because of the pay to get something exclusive. I feel that you can rest on your good name and have donations instead of trying to sell me something in the game. Again, great series, disappointed in paid exclusive.

Vision fields do not take into account any stats you have. For doing hard badges, I did all in two nights (X5 on 2nd night). The key to shortcutting is learn how to mana farm (I did my leveling run on K5). For those who are interested: Aim for 1red/15yellow/16white (though 1/7/8 is okay). This is your killgem. For mana-farm gem, put in trap. 1red/15orange/16white. Put a 1red/1blue/2white slowing gem right in front of your mana farm. Have two mana farm gems behind this. Once this set-up starts returning mana, you will be able to upgrade your kill-gem a lot (surround with Amps). That will allow you to anger a lot more. Field X5 - It's just not fair to me as a player to let me play without telling me activating all the nodes isn't a bonus, but a requirement. I spent quite a length of time on this map on my first playthrough ignoring the nodes and just trying to get a high score to give me more exp, because that's what the game has trained me to do. Telling me 'Charge all the nodes.. 5 waves left!' is just WAY too late to be giving me that sort of objective. Especially as it has an innocuous triangle-shaped field token.

Has V4 been changed to be unbeatable? The Shadow keeps hiding in corners that I can't even put towers in to reach and then fires projectiles to overwhelm.

If you can't wait till your gem is deployed in a tower, add a bolt to it and it will automatically be deployed. Can be very helpful when updating a gem in a busy fight.

Well done on managing to create the only Flash game on here that doesn't make the mouse wheel scroll down the page when you've hit the max zoom level. Also, well done on making the best Tower Defense Game, Again. 5/5

the 99 wave vision field should mention that you need to activate the ensnaring socket or it destroys your orb... getting to wave 99 and suddenly losing isn't fun :(.

I3 has proved excellent for achievement scaling.
I just used the Energy Shrine 4 times, with increasing Mana Drain gems to get to a final purchase of Lvl 9 Mana Drain Gem, plus the level seven mana drain bomb I needed to take care of the leftovers from when I pulled eleven or so simultaneous waves to maximize the shrine's effect. Total of 21 achievements at once-mana Theft, Robbery, and Heist (mana steal from one shrine blast:180, 1,800, and 18,000 respectively); Restless (call 15 early waves), Double Strike(same shrine twice), Resourceful and Mana Lake, (Mana Pool Level 5&10), Crowded(100 enemies on screen), Mana Mogul, Adept Grade(lvl 8 gem), From Above(27 monsters killed by bombs/wasps), Carnage(300 killstreak),Pointed Pain(50 stings), Blackout(Destroy beacon), Impaling Charges(250 1hit kills), Enemy of the Swarm (333 swarmling kills), Earthquake(4 shrine), Path of Blood (1000 kills), Powerful (craft 1 gem w/300 raw damage), Battle Heat, and Knee Deep (30 waves :}

@Bruno Shapes: It specifically says on the enchant spells, like bolt an such that "Enchanted gems get socketed instantly" you're supposed to use it to allow for movement or upgrading to be bypassed, while also giving the gem a power boost.

Not sure if this is a bug or if it is intended: When you put a gem in a tower or upgrade it, the cooldown before the gem is ready to fire can by bypassed by empowering this gem with an enhancement spell, such as the Bolt.

All those people complaining about how they ask for a little money for the pouch,... do people actually consider the time put into games? and I know there are a bunch of money grabbers out there, but come on, 1st version that they offer additional content for a SMALL amount of money. I wish more games would do this, except for asking 5$ for a pack of cards/energy which without you cannot compete unless you buy allot,... those are the money grabbers, this game you should donate to, they deserve it, they make quality games one after another. the only thing that saves me from giving it 5 stars is the fact it took ages to get to kongregate, while it was online on armor games much much earlier :(

Play well. Get many achievements. Random event in last 10 waves (out of 100 or more) hits with 10x enemiges at 10x strenght, with no warning, nothing you can do to affect it. Game over! You gained .. NOTHING! Terrible gameplay / design. GC started off great, but silly design mistakes like this should have been fixed/removed a loooooong time ago.

How do you manna farm? Seriously, i watched youtube videos on it, and it just seems so complicated! I just don't get it :( My level is 215 with zero manna farming, Any help appreciated thanks

everyone is complaining about how the there are 3 hard badges and they take forever to get... if they were easy to get and didn't take time they wouldn't be hard badges, just keep that in mind.

So, this game has three hard badges that take forever without the Magician's Pouch and I have to spend 5$ for it?
Well, this seems absolutely justified as this game needs more hours to complete than GTA 5...
Thank you Kongregate, I thought the badges had to be doable without paying money. Now I know and can embrace myself.

The game is awesome, but I don't understand one thing.... HOW CAN I MAX OUT EVERY AREA?
As I see every area have a maximum of 3 "stars" .. but I can only make 1 of 3 .. how can i make 3 of 3 !?

Please consider making entrances, wizard locks and such more obvious. With all the shadows, it can be difficult to distinguish between important details and random clutter.

Odd blah3, I have had over 200000 monsters on screen, gone to options page and returned safely. It was oly when I killed a lot of those monsters at the same time, while they where frozen that the game ran into trouble, but even then leaving my computer on all night solved the problem, in te end the game worked it out.

LOL. The advertising buttons never stop working - the develpoer was careful to test those. It's just the game that breaks. Cash before quality.

Never open the options menu. In a big battle, this crashes the game - you can't exit without reloading page. So many bugs in this game, as soon as more than a hundred or so monsters on screen. 1/5
