Oh, re-tip: Pure gems have stronger abilities but have fewer abilities as well and less damage overall. Tricolor and quad-color gems deal some pretty impressive damage so focus on them during giant levels.

Tip: I usually have at least 200 mana worth of unspent skill points for defense fortifications. Focus on mana so that you can get nastier gems faster, and also focus on purity for maximum damage and ability potency. This usually works.

Absolute masterpiece of a game. I praise your team, GameInABottle, for the fantastic TD Hit The GemCraft Series. What else can I say that fits? The GemCraft games are the best TDs I have ever encountered.

Not certain, but getting all those compasses in teh right direction opens up secret levels. Can't do them all without the pouch.

In higher Levels the game sometimes crashes with many Units and Special effects on the Screen. Any idea how to avoid that?

Why is it impossible to read the pop up when hovering over the "Create Gem" options or even the monsters details? The letter is terrible. Even in this forum. I have the Clear Type set up, what else could it be? Thx

finally beat level V11. the secret is to use chain-hit gems. if you use Bolt on a chain-hit gem, it hits TWO targets!

Finally beat X5 after many days. My level is 126, 25 to mana stream, 25 fusion and 25 to critical hit and use that gem precisely. Also need enough mana pool to craft level 6 crit hit gem directly.

LOL X5 level is too far away, it is almost a week of playing. Why you badge that????? Conquer 4 vision fields are still OK. But getting to X5 may require level 150-200..

@FarFromGruntled As far as I'm concerned, the dislike function on comments should be used on these "game sucks" comments, which are most of the downvoted negative ones, since they are not constructive criticism and bring no info on how to improve or what players dislike about the game. Don't expect devs to put effort into fixing what you dislike if you can't even be bothered to write a short description of what that is. Comments that show that the player didn't bother to read the tutorial and is complaining about not understanding the game are also not the welcome kind of comments. Gem bombs are thrown by dragging them from your inventory after pressing B. The "bombing mode"'s description provides the full tutorial of this alternate method of using bombs too, right in the gem bomb's description. The only problem with that I can fathom is you not having any gems and trying to use them (which the spell's description cautions about).

I like this game a lot, but I think it's overrated and over monetized. 4.25 is too high of a rating for a game that put the delete save button RIGHT BELOW THE CONTINUE BUTTON! Lame.

This game has a steep learning curve. It took some commitment to get the daily done. There is way more to this game than just the easy which is why all the rest are hard. I may have to try this out on steam.

I really like the tome hunting aspect - you get used to a few starting skills and gradually increase your repertoire by unearthing new skills from beating specific stages.

This game quickly degrades into a money grab every time it seems. There's always a point where the game scaling falls behind the horde scaling and there's little to be done about it unless you're really efficient.

@FarFromGruntled The whole "Shift+B" thing were added for convenience. If you can't understand it you can do it the old fashioned way: Click B and drag the gems to where you want to bomb. However this should not even be a question if you actually read the instructions listed just to the right of this section.

I really don't want to sound like this is sour grapes, but I posted a couple of comments on here. One was hoping that someone would help me with the bomb function, and the other was a critique of the game I made after a lot of failures with getting the game to work (so not a favourable). I popped back to see if anyone had posted anything to help, and I see that my posts had received so many negative marks that they had been hidden as they were below the threshold, as if they were trolling comments. I can't help but wonder if there are people associated with the game that scour the new comments for anything remotely negative; I see there are a few other negative critiques that have been hidden as well.

I agree -- it is very kred-needy. It could at least wait until you are a bit into the game before trying to aggressively monitize. Actually I wonder why games like this don't give you one-three days of the benefit free as a taste.

Did the same people program this as the other Gemcraft games? No offense but... this has problems. The Hot keys do not work at all, half the time the gems do not drop when moved. The combine function just stops combining half way through on random occasions. I'm guessing it's cutting out when a gem fails to drop. It just seems... glitchy as (smurf).

I am very annoyed by having to play this to earn a daily badge with the game pestering me to buy it while I own the real version of chasing shadows on steam. Okay... mildly annoyed. But still.

I am going to have to give this a low star rating. The controls are confusing, especially when it comes to using the bomb function. I have tried numerous combinations, and only occasionally I have managed to get something to blow up. Why can't it be as simple as select bomb, select target, boom? Having to use a hot key, the shift key and mouse click in a specific non-intuitive order makes the game far too tricky to enjoy. And that's apparently one of the easier things to do. 1 star.

The Bombing function makes no sense! I have tried clicking on the bomb, holding shift, clicking on the enemy in all manner of combinations, but you think I can get it to work???? What should I be doing??????????

Here's a headstart for those who are impatient. At the first battle: 1. Pause, hover over one of your gems on the field and right click once. Then click "X." 2. Click "G", drag a gem on the field to another one of a different color. 3. Make sure you have a level 1 gem in your inventory. Start, click on an enemy, pause. 4. Click "B" then hold shift. (The order is important.) Click on your orb, one of the towers, any of the wave stones. Release shift. 5. (This step is optional.) Start the wave at 1x speed. Call wave 2 early. Click "B" then hold shift. Bomb all of the enemies. If you manage to clear all enemies with only bombs then you'll get an extra achievement. This puts you to over halfway through the easy badge requirement. And it’ll probably take longer to read this than actually executing it. But hey, it works.

The Magician's Pouch thing is the one flaw in one of the best games on here. It would be nice if there was an alternative to watch an ad or do a survey or something else. Otherwise, it's like $5 in Kreds.

Extremely addictive, even with the occasional "Only available with Magician's Pouch". Originally went for the badges since I already beat the game but leveling up at least 5 times was just soooo satisfying. 5/5
