@kingchoji: It's possible you pressed the I key by accident. I toggles the displays. If you can't see them, press I again to get them back.

I'm playing this so hard and so long it's giving me RSI on my mouse finger! One thing that would be appreciated would be a way to save battles, very useful for long Endurance runs.

I seem to occasionally have a problem where hovering the mouse over something, for instance a gem or pylon no longer displays any information. Anyone else had this issue or know how to fix it?

Yes, find your local save for your current browser and copy it to desktop, then start a new game on the new browser and save it, locate this new save and replace it with your old save (if it doesn't work try renaming the old save to what the new one was called)

is there any possibility to transfer the saved game to another browser, like firefox to chrome or the other way around?

This game has solid replayability. I come back to it again and even, long past having gotten all the amulets and achievements.

Great game, but there are a couple changes that I think could make it better.
1. Have a third option for the mouse-over information panels that shows only the price (I don't need a 300x500 pixel box to explain the mana pool extension spell, but I'd still like to know the cost for the next upgrade)
2. For fields with challenge amulets, keep track of progress toward the amulet. Currently, if you fail in your attempt, you can see your stats during and/or immediately after the battle, but not after going back to the map. Right now, the progress past the amulet goal is shown, but this stat would also be great to see before earning the amulet (so I can know how close I've gotten).
Overall, it's a great game, and I look forward to your next one!

Darkdani, yes it does. Why should that be a problem? By that time you can easily get a gem hitting more (amplifiers/bloodbound).

this needs to be an actual game, like through steam or something, i want to play this without having to be connected to internet!

If you're "grinding", you're doing it wrong. Stop trying to max out your XP and instead just beat the levels with no "bonus" settings. If it's tough, try adjusting skills instead - but I'm 2/3rds through the game and I've only put points in to the first four skills on the left.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I have to say, I didn't like the grinding. If you get stuck, you need to grind; trying to remember settings, struggling for another 100-200 experience, it's not worth it. In the last game, you at least had discrete challenge modes like swarm, endurance, etc. so you could more easy go through mechanical grinding. Please bring that back; that, or give 50% of experience on completing a previous level.

Note: Keep Forge and Reconstruction maxed at all times.
Try to keep Focus at 52 unless you have a lot of gems. 52 is plenty to finish most dungeons and get all of the wild gem's boost with only 1 increased pool (Not the violent explosions boosted one)
Max Recharge, get Resonance to 20 as soon as possible, 65 when you can.
Max Radiance only if you are looking to clear, not for endurance.
Replenish should be gotten to 50 as soon as you can, but don't worry if you take points out of this to cover other skills. That is fine.

Jonny mentioned quite a few of the best masteries and I wanted to put in my own comments here for the best imo:
-Forge and Construction are no brainers.
-Triple Gem and Dual Gem are great boosters. Triple helps with L/Y/O and L/Y/R cannons, Dual helps mana farms with L/O and C/B traps.
Resonance is great to have as well as Recharge. Radiance is good however. You don't want you cannon firing into your mana farm.
Most Masteries except C and B are good. When you get to a point in farming in endurance where a C/B trap gem is 50000% slow and 40000% shock, there's little need to up them more.
Wild Gem means more mana, Flexibility means easier gem unlocks and faster 2x early.
Violent explosions means more monsters from summons and more mana out of wild gem.
Deadly is great for L/O farm

For those playing on premium, one of the biggest things to start with is rush to the first pylon, using increased Banish cost and heal when you do it. Set it to Armored, and play through like you normally would. Do not summon recklessly and charge the pylon early. Don't worry about battle amulets at first because you'll return to it and do it again later for more exp. When you are nearing 9000, spam grade 2 gem bombs (You should easily be able to cap out the gems you have) several times and gem bomb the farthest wave you can. You don't have to summon it, but get it as close to your Armored Monsters Kill Count as possible WITHOUT going over it or equaling it. This'll max out your summon multiplier and will get you 100k exp on the first run without too much effort. From there you can go back and do other levels with much more exp.

Also: It's worthwhile to keep an eye on battle amulets. When you can, build towers till you have 10. You don't have to use them. Build shrines in twos when you can safely afford them until you have six... they're great crowd control AND those 2/4/6 shrine multipliers are nice. Practice summoning monsters and using shrines to control their hp, so you can rack up those summons multipliers. Practice making stronger gems, too, and work on summoning waves early. Push yourself as best you feel you can safely handle: on a Pylon field you can gather a total of 285% multiplier from battle amulets, so keep track and learn to gather them: DON'T ignore the one for not letting anything reach your orb, though, because that 30% is a HUGE portion. It's a big deal.

Keep it simple: Instead of trying to redo a field with Double numbers, +15 waves, Double hp Armored with banishment penalties, greater armor and faster, do a field you haven't done yet with just Armored, +15 waves and banishment penalties, doing all fields with just those will get you far, and THEN you can go back to old fields and do them again with a couple added modifiers. Learn as you go, don't push too hard, and remember that you can always try again, there's a lot of fields in the game so there's always something else to try!

Best gem skills: Triple Gem mastery (L/O/C trap gem, L/Y/O or P cannon gem), Wild Gem (for lots of free mana at the beginning of a field if nothing else), L/O/C/Y/P color masteries, more Focus makes Mana Pooling better, more Replenish makes trap gems perform better, Resonance makes cannon hurt more, allowing you to summon more. Really, everything except Focus, Replenish and Resonance has a cap, usually around 10-30, which will be cheap; if you're not 100% sure of a skill, just wait till you have enough skill points to easily max it and do so. In the meantime, worry about only what you're actually using.

If your cannon gem reaches your trap gem, remove amp gems to adjust, or, if you need the power, set it to Random so it doesn't just kill each monster before it reaches the trap. BOMB WAVES if they're just too easy: a rank 3 gem will add ~13 monsters to keep your mana trap going and increase your kill count. Use ONE high level gem instead of MORE low level gems for wave bombing: the higher level will add a lot of monsters without greatly increasing their Armor; multiple low level gems will instead add less monsters but more armor. TRY to never let your mana trap be empty.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I only use two gems: the mana trap (mine gets much stronger, I tend to get tens or hundreds of billions of mana) and a cannon gem set closer to the orb. The cannon should be Lime/Yellow/Orange if you're not using Stronger Monster Armor settings, or L/Y/Purple if you are (monster armor with all other settings is negligible, but with that one setting it can explode into 9+ digits quickly). Set the trap at a corner or a straightaway so you can get 5-6 amps around it and use mana gems as amps... remember to upgrade them any time you have breathing room. SDet your cannon gem wherever you can get 8 amps around it (or as many as you can) and use multi damage gems for those amps. Don't let the cannon reach the trap too soon. Also, DO set your trap to Random Monster so it's chain stunning isn't wasted on the same few front-runners, the love is spread around.

I try to get all the monsters to pass a single point... easy if there's just one entrance, takes some walls if there's several entrances. Don't ignore Wild Gem: if you can't use the gem it makes, you can anvil it for phat extra starting mana. I place a trap at the point where all monsters must pass and set a Lime/Orange/Cyan gem there. Build the gem with copies a few times, and when shock is well over 100%, focus on upgrading Lime/Orange for a few rounds. This is your mana farm gem: can hold several monsters in place for a bit and draw mana from them without killing them too quickly. Build L/O for a few rounds, then add another C element to the next upgrade to keep shock updated. My target farmer is usually around 300 chain hit and 250-500% shock, with as much orange as I can get in there. MANA POOL EARLY... whenever you have some breathing room, MP a few times. That multiplier COUNTS.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
There are only 1337 waves... Once you hit the HP cap, just upgrade your gems another couple times then send all remaining waves and walk away. The game does the rest. Also, you're right, lime-component trap gems are so epic :P

Oh God. Just spent about 8 hours on a single endurance battle, finally figured out the whole lime+orange combo. Got 3.6 million points, leveled up from about 360 to 418, and created a few thousand invincible opponents around wave 530 just to wrap things up and just called waves untl I finally died. Still beat wave 831 before the increasing banishment cost finally did something.

@color:Play with armored only monsters 1.Max out Forge and Construction skills. Add a few to Chain Hit Mastery and the rest of your skill points can go to Replenish and Focus. 2.Start the level and unlock the Chain Hit gem. Make a grade 3 gem with chain hit being the major colour. Place it in a tower close to where the monsters spawn 3.Build a SHORT path of walls to focus the monsters into a line which passes close to your gem. Use 15 walls max, aim for less. 4.Get your gem to grade 4 as soon as possible. Wave 5 is a good target. 5.Surround your gem with 2 amplifiers by wave 10. Place grade 3 gems in these (use triple gems with chain hit major) 6.Remember to start waves early as you finish them and reach 4 amps around your gem. This should be achieved by wave 15. 7.Upgrade your gem to grade 5 by wave 18. 8.Add more amps around your gem, you should be fine from here on :) If you're still struggling then try levelling up a bit or send me a private message and I'll offer further help.
