difficulty curve is f u c k e d. first 7 or 8 levels are a joke then all of a sudden nothing can kill them. usually it's supposed to get gradually harder

Love the balance of this game. How replayin' previous levels to beat yer score rewards ye by increasin' yer wizard level, while playin' forward gets ye through the game. Unlike so many RPG themed games were ye are rewarded fer grindin' the same monsters over and over and bloody over again.

How is the wizard leveling set up? Does experience equals score? Fer example, if a maximum map level score, fer example 120.000 points, does that give a maximum of 120.000 exp? Or is it solely based on beatin' yer previous score several times?

savegames should be somewhere on the server, and not on local computer... local saves are bad if you're swapping OS or computer... or if you want to play again in a few months with all your achievements...

i enjoy tower defense games, but the one thing that makes this game one of the best games on kong is that it has a speed up button-- barely any games on kong have them, especially slow ones D= press + if you agree

you people are idiots, it was armorgames that made this, it was game in a bottle. they are a small game development company from hungary. and also, gemcraft chapter 0 is WAY WAY better than this one. y'all should try it i guarantee you'll be hooked

The game is majorly flawed in that there is no control over gem color, which makes many levels a total crapshoot... if you dont get purples to take down armor when you need them, it's over, you can get a useless "lime" or something.

for those out there havin trouble you should try to go as fast as you can to get a higher score so you level up and upgrade

This is probably my favourite game on Kongregate yet. I absolutely love tower defense games, but they were all starting to blur together... until I tried this one.
Instead of building specific towers and upgrading them, building gems that give your towers abilities, and being able to COMBINE said gems, adds a whole new layer of depth. Combine that with the skills you can gain for leveling up, and you have one of the most complete, layered tower defense games out there.
If you're the type of person that enjoys TD games, but are tired of the exact same concept/gameplay being used, give GemCraft a shot. You will not be disappointed, I can guarantee you that!

its funny how combinig a high into a low grm increeses the range and firing speed but drasticly decreeses if you combine the lower into a higher

I don't see why Uth3gendal's comment is so highly rated, considering the gem's you get are random; meaning you'd have to be really lucky to get lots of purple gems and keep your mana high enough, as well as upgrade all your gems to a grade 4 or higher. Moats and Towers also increase in cost per installment.

A great trick for quick lvl ups is to hit build ctrl and the lowest lvl gem and throw about a million gem bombs next to the slots with the hotkey. u only need to hit monsters if your in danger and it gets you lots of extra xp each lvl
