@harvestsun: you just created a paradox. You say we shouldn't listen to the top commenters, but you're one of them so we should listen to them which is the reason for not listening to them .........

Definitely a 5/5. I particularly praise the difficulty which, even on hard mode, never felt unfair. I failed a few times on level 12 but every time I knew that I had made a glaring error somewhere. The only criticisms I have are that the final boss does way to much damage considering everything you have to fight before him on that level. It's nothing you can't over come but still a bit annoying. Secondly, I'm not a big fan of the fact that by far the best strategy is one that's a bit counter to the game's mechanics (i.e. using "melee" only for the first 9 levels). Still excellent game, follow the top rated comment guides and you won't have much trouble. Oh, but lord could this game use an autosave haha.

@harvestsun: Great job on the info, worked like a charm! To the dev's: I haven't seen it yet, but a sequel would be cool, like being able to explore the Carribean and such... Great game though.

For those having trouble with the final boss... try shooting it out with the bulk of the last level, saving your crew for a boarding action against the boss itself. Your full crew should easily be able to take out the final boss... and it's reinforcements... if it hasn't already been decimated by earlier boarding actions or battle damage.

Two issues I have with the game: one, the enemy ships slide upward way too quickly (an enemy ship with one sail moves faster once you come around the top of it) and two, I drag ships with me when we are engaged in 'close combat' which is especially annoying when I didn't even want to engage in close combat... but other than that it was a pretty good game

Simply ridiculous, at 12 says to have 13 enemies and you have time and work getting ready for it and when you're fighting the final boss has those damn ships upon you and a frequency that does not even to breathe

lol just like what pirates did in real life back then, the best way to go is to not rely too much on the cannons and just board their ship

I...well...I'm not quite sure how this works,My ship has full health and I rn into 2 ships and they kill me instantly, also when I try to kill another ship,it ends up dying before I even get it's health down,so,yeah I don't even

I tried out Harvetsun's tactics and on level 5 or so, my pirates all got killed off despite having been maxed out already. Think it may have been because I was occasionally fighting multiple ships at once.

Captain BEFORE the consult to maritime war specialist harvestsun:
ALL AROUND THE CANNONS, FIRE, FIRE, FIRE ALL THE BULLETS! AND DONT WAIT THEM RELOAD TO SHOT AGAIN!
Captain AFTER the consult to maritime war specialist harvest sun:
DONT SHOT THE BULLETS! ALL ATTACK WITH OUR SWORDS!
Results of the battles:
With bullets: Win, but not so much money;
Without bullets: WERE ALL RICHES! YAHOOO!

Fun game the last boss is cheap though keeps summing ships to help him. But if you follow the strategies to not shoot the first 3 lvls and shoot and not miss only once until lvl 9 you will have lots of money to help you out. I maxed the first 5 maxed out and 4 into turning The spend what little money I had left on ship health which dose make your ship bigger but I don't think that kicks in till you spend more. Also a trick I found helpful on the last level is to go up to the topish right corner and aim slightly up and to the left then shoot until they are on you and pull a loop to the left corner and do again. Since the always try and stay above you can be used when they are getting to close to as long as they are not to fast. Keep up the good work.

to beat the boss on level 12 you need to use the smaller ships as shields and basically as you destroy the main ship he will take care of the smaller ones. do not use cannonballs on smaller ships unlees you have too concentrate all fire on the main ship. harvestsuns' tactics are pretty good, but after level 11 i had everything maxed and trurning to half power then a i added half power to armor then.

Really? You wait until the last level to introduce a different method that the ships come at you and a boss ship that is actually more difficult than a regular ship to kill? And not only that but you have extra ships coming at you from right where you are at the bottom of the screen during that boss fight. I realize that it makes it a lot more difficult but honestly I feel like the ships could've come in from the sides at earlier levels and make boss ships a little bit more difficult on lower levels. And those ships that come at you during the last boss ship should be raised a little bit higher so that the soldiers on my ship can actually survive a bit longer.

cant yu use harvestsun strategy, but while attacking them in the ship. shoot them also?
so yu can be sure all the shots connect and get 100% bonus.
(shoot lil tho. dont want shots to fly after the ship dies.)

mwahahaha! i just shot your ship with 100 cannonballs! wait... why are you still floating?!?! you're made of WOOD. you should at least be on fire or something, not living!

Pirates were incredibly common, which is strange considering that throughout the game hundreds die but there is always a steady supply of them available...

useful tip for level 12: the faster you beat the first 12 ships, the longer you stay alone with the boss... if you are quicker enough, you can easily beat it with your crew while spamming ammo

I wouldn't listen to the whole "Lololol don't shoot till level 10." Don't get me wrong, that 2500 bonus is nice. However, if you can manage to get a 90% or higher hit rate (Which is easy at close range while your men board enemy ships) you'll get some cash money.
I just got a 8679 bonus for 96% hit rate.
