very nice game, but really needs the rainbow gems sorted. it would also be nice to have an upgrade tree and different paths for the characters. 4/5

It's good the crystal system was changed at all, but the new system is kind of meta-gamey. The new optimal way to play is either by getting 3 stars without using crystals or by spamming crystals and getting 2 stars, thus not permanently losing them. Not sure what happens if you use crytsals when replaying a level you already have 3 stars on, my guess is they are wasted, but i surely won't try to find out.

This game could be awesome, but I have the same complaint that most people how. Rainbow Crystals SHOULD NOT be a one time thing. Even if I chose to replay a level I still lose it. That is a horrible design feature. I WANT to be able to experiment. The colored crystals can be a "use them or lose them" but the rainbow ones NEED to be reusable (once a level) and they come back every level (even if you replay the same level to get more stars).

Nice game. It would be 5 stars if it would be working correctly. Fix the rainbow gems! Then maybe we can make it worth some Kongregate points...

Soo, you get a crystal for getting 3 stars, and you lose a crystal for getting 3 stars. How the hell do I get crystals? 2 levels I get 3 stars on, no crystal, and 1 level I get 3 stars and do get one.

I completed 2 levels with 3 stars but didn't receive any rainbow crystals, I don't want to play all the levels with the same 6 characters and no skill progression.

Some of the targeting needs to be fixed. I routinely have 1 person get to my gems, thus making me lose a perfect due to my unit targeting someone who's not even remotely close to the gem!

You don't get Rainbow Gems for completing a level with 3 stars. You get them based on the total number of stars you've earned, (1 Rainbow Gem per 6 stars?) whether it is 3 per level or 2 per level.

Never mind about rainbow gems. Just use rangers, priest (only one) and colored gems. This game has potential to be good but needs upgrades. 4/5

I know this is an old game but, it really could have been a great game... the rainbow gem thing kills it and it's not even working the way it's suppose too... The colored gem thing (the ones that drops from special mobs) is a good idea, but there should of been a skill tree where you experience a hero up then change him to the new class, and the colored gem being a way to skip the leveling up part. Anyways 3/5

Instead of rainbow gems being wasteables, how about making rainbow gems be permanent (having one meaning one use on every map), but progressively increase costs to unlock them. First gem could be unlocked by 6 stars, second by another 12, third for another 24. That way you could have 3 gems at the start of the last level, but still have your fun experimenting with them on earlier maps.

Just got my first rainbow gem, though reading that you'll permanently lose them once used, i wonder why i should ever waste one before the last level. Instead of giving us something to experiment and toy around with, it seems to be just a one-shot wasteable resource.

The witch has a glitch where if they put an illusion down, and the gems are taken, it will have an infinite explosion, when you should be defeated. The monsters will also just turn around the second they come in.

Wish the games screen size wasn't so big, those of us that don't have large screen sizes can't see the entire interface without scrolling back and forth between different things.

I used the rainbow crystal on a level and it went away, though I only got 2 stars. I agree that this game would be much better with a talent tree. Initial stats for base characters needs to be improved slightly as the maps get harder and harder, either that or the increased price needs to be lessened, or money needs to be gained easier as the game progresses. I like the game very much, I'd like to see the improvements.

A good tower defense game could use a skill tree also more levels i think this game has a chance to be a great tower defense game...also the theif is a really good class

I want to like this game, but it has a lot more problems than it looks like at first glance. Bizarre, uncontrollable targeting - your unit/towers seem to target the enemy furthest away from them, which is infuriating when you have placed them specifically to create a kill-zone for the enemies which have progressed the furthest. The upgrade system could have had so many tweaks to make it actually good, but it sucks. There is no way to upgrade a regular unit into one of the specialized ones - it can only be done with the consumable. Why not allow units to gain enough XP to convert? Currently, they just reach level 3 and sit there, which is another bizarre design choice.

Great game. One easy (I think) change would make it much better: put in something related to targeting. The units seem to target a random baddie, sometimes allowing creeps to reach my junk when I have more than enough firepower to kill them all.

The game takes a very long time to load. This might be preventing you from getting more people to play it and earning more stars. I think it's a nice TD game :)

Weird glitch, I didn't get a rainbow gem for finishing the first level with 3 stars, then I failed the second level. When I clicked retry, I got a rainbow gem and went to the next level. Unless I pass by failing, I don't know why that should happen.

Face off is two words. Anywho, the crystal system sucks. should just let us upgrade the classes into the "crystal" classes with money.
