Weird game. Can't hurt drill-head boss, and he just trashed my fort. Everything else dies like nothing to machine gun fire.

What this clearly needs is another 15 loading screen at the beginning. The nap I took before the game started wasn't nearly long enough.
Actually, our game has mute button on all the pages, and I'm sure that professional developer do the same to let the player switch the sound off before it starts

you really dont get any money or loot after failed mission ?? I'm level 32 and i have no chance to play another mission its to hard! First game I see it is handled like that... we can't see all of your game if you do it like this. Good game but because of that only 3/5
This is not like Elona shooter, mainly, because Elona Shooter has the rating of 4.25 and our game - only 3.48. :)
But, well, you know, what's funny? I tried Elona shooter and I got stuck on level 3. But I didn't downrate it, I gave it 5 as I understand, how much work did the developer do.

its a good game but i have now 4000 hp and most of the time the repair cost is around 3000, complete the lvls with 1 assistant but rly cant get more money, maybe lower the price of that

a lot of the enemies feel kind of broken such as the ninjas basically shooting at me when they're off screen, the arc of the rocket launcher having almost nothing to do with where i'm pointing and the regen of the repair skill being so low, enemies who 'rage' as soon as they hit they barrier ect. its a decent game, but really should have a lot of fine tuning to become a fun GOOD defense game
Thank you. I'll spend this night tuning the game (it's already night in our timezone) and will update the game tomorrow.
As for the rocket - it was intended so, the high splash damage justifies the low accuracy.

this is not well-planned: if a player can't pass a stage, there's nothing they can do. there's no way to gain more money or experience, so if you're stuck, that's it. the game is decent aside from that, but of course, that is a game-breaking flaw, so it doesn't much matter how the rest of the game is - if you make a couple poor decisions, you don't get to experience the rest of it.
In fact, there's something the player can do :) If you try to replay the lost level you'll see that there will be a bit less enemies and you'll more likely to complete it.
But, anyway, tomorrow we'll update the game leaving the player some money and loot even if the level is lost.

Such a great game, great depth. Seeing lots of people complain about the Irish Giants, not sure why. Once you get the machine gun you slice right through them. Ninjas are more trouble than the giants. And some of the best advice here posted: sell your items to get cash for better weapons. Especially since you can sell your weapons at cost. I actually ended up using the machine gun for most of the game. And omg, why is this game only rated 3.5??????
Thank you very much! You are the true defender! :)
Personally I agree that ninjas are bigger problem than the giants. To kill them the player needs to change aim really quick.

but please make it so you keep like half of the stuff you earned from a lost level cause you can get stuck on a level if you bought the wrong stuff etc.

Shield guys covering each other while they shoot? Not fair. This game needs polishing before its great, although it has most of the pieces there.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Very difficult game, but fun. Had to switch to AoE to pass a few levels, but otherwise, I found Machine gun/Tesla/Sniper the best setup. These weapons have the best range for their damage, and range is crucial. If you don't kill the Irish guys before they reach halfway, you're dead. Mods: armor/damage/firerate/pierce on me and sniper, armor/damage/firerate/multi on doc. This allows you to pierce to the Irish guys and burn through armor pretty well.

Can someone tell me,I'm playing an alien that is defending his home planet from human invaders,or i am mutated human(scientist really looks like this) that is shooting his crew?Just wondering.

To me the only issue with the game is that Giants are overpowered. They fire from far away, fire often and do a lot of damage. When I get a wave without them I rarely take damage; a wave with Giants always does over 1000 damage to my wall before I take them down.

Suggestions: Some way to save. I went to the menu and lost all progress. I don't want to go through all that again! RE-balance the tall Irishmen. When they come in groups, Doc's grenade launcher can't reach them and you are dead by the time they are in range. Gun mods - I don't feel like I am finding enough to sell them, plus, they are work so little why should I bother? The kamakazi bomber - impossible to kill in time. Should be able to take out before they hit your wall, right? 2/5 as now, an easy 4-5/5 if they game was balanced
OK, the update with the features requested will come tomorrow.
As for Kamimaze, not exactly. Quite often it's wise to let them hit your wall and aim fire at the foot units instead.

Quite easy... I feel that even with the various combinations allowed, you can only really win this game if you focused on using weapons that deal area damage.
If anyone is having a hard time, I started with the Scientist and focused on 20% more earnings until I got that skill to level 6, and that was more than enough to get the henchmen and keep my base repaired. Have one appropriate henchman use the Boomerang Launcher, and the other one use the Sun Gun. For the Scientist, I recommend the Rubber Bomb Launcher. For mods, I would focus on getting Neutrino Barrel, Gravity Accelerator, Quantum Xerox and one mod of your preference (I went with Anti-matter Charge) for the Boomerang Launcher. This one henchman will keep the screen clear until the later rounds.

Very nice game. Funny. Cool loot/crafting system. Though it would be nice if the player could keep some amount of money/XP/loot from failed missions. Otherwise it's possible to end in a deadlock where the mission at hand is just too hard for you (and you keep on failing.)

Hey, Vimes, nice job. 5/5 I agree with the difficulty rising too fast, but some people overlook something; if you fail a level, playing it again will give a slightly different combination of enemies, which can make it easier. Just try a few more times if you fail, it's not the end of the world if you lose a level!
Alo, don't say I didn't warn you about the kamikaze; too hard for early levels. half their armor and all should be well.
Thank you very much! Indeed, the game has the self-adjusting difficulty. Ans as for kamikaze, sometimes, when I play ans I feel that I can't kill them, I just let them go, focusing fire on the weaker enemies behind.

I am on the loading screen laughing my ass off. That alien before you press "play".... Is that... his junk with a head? xD

I got to level 17, I have now two of the characters unlocked with their choice of guns and still i cannot win. Its a good game otherwise but too steep a difficulty curve for sure.
Good idea of the difficulty settings, as because if we simply reduce the difficulty, I'm afraid, the players who already completed it would think the game to be too easy. If this comment gets many '+'es we'll implement your idea. :)

Too Unbalanced, these mobs with armor are nearly impossible to get pass through. Concept is nice though, but the fact you don't have a way to kill armored mobs faster kills the fun. 3/5
Thank you for the comment. Do you mean the skater with shields? There are 2 ways to kill them. 1. Use the weapon with curved trajectory: bow, grenades, etc and try to hit them on the head. 2. When they shoot, they uncover themselves briefly - shoot them right at that moment.
All the other armored units have their weak point as well.

It seems to me that the game is getting tougher with every level your caracter gets not that your playing... this way, trying to level up does not make sense... and there is no way to get experience, when you fail. this way, you can't improve so to win a lvl by repeating... thus if you're not strong enough, that's it. Restart or leave it :(
Actually, you are right. The game have a self-regulating difficulty: the waves become tougher after victory and weaker - after defeat. I'm going to experiment with the coefficients of increasing/decreasing difficulty to see if the game becomes more of what you'd like.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I gotta agree with ginokami. The difficulty rises way to fast. just got the minelancher and for some levels it as easy. but after i brought the boomerang launcher i lost at lvl 16. too many ninjas who do too much damage. even with shooting around like hell i cant kill them fast enough and my base gets blown up. 2 levels before that i got no damage at all. you really should do something against that. keeping some money (or loot) after loosing seems like a good start. after the first few levels you got many problems with all this money you keep putting in the repair. maybe it would be good to reduce the amount of money for it drastically. it's hard to do something when nearly more than half of the money goes to the repair. also killing those bomb floating guys is really hard, when they are i the upper lanes. you can't do much damage either because they are to fast. so some more balance would be good and you have to do something about the money.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Also the moment the giants enter it is just game over, no weapon I have can defeat that wave of enemies as most of the money that was even earned had to go towards wall repair. The level upgrades aren't really helpful at all. This game has a lot of different stuff in it, but it isn't combined and used right.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I hate when I am about to craft a new item and I sell my items instead, Maybe you should make the sell button a bit smaller
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The rate at which you get money is not nearly enough to even cover all the base repairs, let alone buying extra stuff. The 'crafting system' is based on a gigantic amount of luck as you don't only need the right form, but also the right color while hoping for that one thing that will actually help.
This game has a lot of potential, but really needs to improve some things. Mainly money gain in comparison to days as you gain an equal amount from each unit on day 1 as on day 10. Also make the crafting system less based on complete luck, making it so that only 3 different forms with the same color can be combined isn't really crafting, but just collecting.
The money coefficient will be updated tomorrow. As for the loot, in fact, it's not totally random. If the player has, for example, red square loot, he has higher chances to get the round and hexagonal red loot during the next several days.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I agree the curve is far too hard right now. And the fact that failed missions do not allow you to continue the game, make it even worse.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I played with Armstrong untill level 10. Now I am stcuk because repair needs all my money and i still have only the first weapon.
What if you try to sell some of the mods, loot, the first weapon and buy the Machine gun? One of the key concepts we implemented into the game is that you sell the weapon for the same price you've bought it.
In general you are right, but here we use the "story mode" progress when the player keeps only the results of the successful missions. But if your suggestion gets many '+'es, we'll surely implement it :)
EDIT:
OKOK, you won :)
Tomorrow I'll update the game where the player will receive some money and loot after defeat. Meanwhile you have the whole day to beat the unmodified game :)
UPD: It's midnight in my timezone but I keep adjusting the game variables. Looks like passable for any strategy used, while keeping it interesting and challenging.
UPD2 Meet the update! And thank you for feedback! (check the Credits, BTW :) )

The Giants are a little over the top. They can decimate you before they even get in range of your weapons. And their range is longer than yours unless you have longe range weapons of course. And they linger so much and just pound you before you can even hit them. And they just wipe you out every time. I have more trouble with a wave of them than anything else in the game.
Indeed, they are tough. For s short-ranged weapons, the mod, increasing the distance may help. On what level and which weapon did you encounter them first?
BTW, their weak side is that they have big head.

What originality? This is pretty much a downgrade of Elona Shooter (http://www.kongregate.com/games/noanoa/elona-shooter). The only thing this has that elona doesn't is a crafting system, which is pretty meh since each ingredient seems to only be able to craft or upgrade 1 specific mod. Everything else, from weapon mods to multiple heroes and skills can be found in Elona shooter.
You are right! :) My co-author was inspired by Elona Shooter, but I didn't play it before, so, in the overall the game is 50% original :)
To be serious, I suppose, we have enough differences from Elona: different ratio of weapon damage/units hp, different weapons, like rubber bomb or shrapnell. Shooting the grapeshot works differently here. Of course, Elona is cool and has very detailed PRG system, but we wanted to make our game more focused on shooting and added only the necessary additional elements.

you know this is just................a bit to much of a difficulty curve to be fair, the amount of money you get from winning a round , well most of it goes to repairing your base. which sucks, cause you cant buy anything or save up enough to buy anything
Good idea, thank you :) When developing the game we thought of "story mode" when each day gets the player closer to the aim - rearing the ship and leaving the planet. We'll think of what can be enhanced and adjusted.

I saw a tip about using minefields, but haven't seen anyway to buy a minefield. Am I doing something wrong? I thought I saw something about selling loot to learn about new weapons, but I've been selling loot and don't get any info.
Thank you. Perhaps, the game shown the tip about the minefields too early, as the mineslayer weapon is unlocked around the 2nd half of the game.
To unlock the new weapons you should hire the henchmen. We removed "buy spaceship details" concept (and totally forgot to fix the tip text, ha-ha :) ), and the weapon mods can only be crafted. But selling the loot is often good if you don't have enough money for the new weapon.
