I swear to god. I taped down my mouse button and let the last level run... while I watched TV for like 30 minutes. I still won with perfect health... but BORING!! Long=/fun.

Once we have purchased both allies and all the guns we want we have no need for money except repairs. How about letting us buy a random loot item for 1000 each?

Super easy imo, Doc with 3rd weapon: damage, range, rate, speed. Spam edge of map, ownage! Never sold anything, didn't even know until the last few tips.

This game was a lot of fun! 5/5 really enjoyed playing it. For myself, after wining being able keeping my upgrades and an endless mode type game with pick player option would have kept me playing to try out all the different weapons.

Also, get rid of the idea of "Free money for clicking this icon".. it gets pretty tiresom to see in every single game, and I don't want to like every single item on anywhere, if I like your game I might like it on facebook, rewarding me with a pointless reward just feels cheap.
In some point I agree with you, but we wanted to give some little prize for the sharers. At first I saw such an approach in Kingdom Rush. And the reward is given only once, so, it doesn't disbalanse the game much.

Also, whenever you enter a new map, all my weapons looks like they need a reload, but when I select them, they immediately fully restock the ammo supply, would be nice to fix this little UI visual thing.

Invisible hotkeys are part of a bad UI (I think), took me a while to find the base hp bar, its big but for some reason its easy to miss. Also the "Unbelievable" gets tiresome in the long run. I would love a more interesting loot system, this seems pretty... Well there is no strategic choices in upgrades, since I haven't gotten enough loot to throw any of it out yet, so I feel there is next to no choice between missions, meaby add a more interesting level system, or give more choice in the inventory screen as to what loot is upgraded into, meaby a machine where you use coin and put in a loot module, and get a different colour loot module, so I can try to hunt the loot I want, instead of getting the loot the random generator wants me to have.

Great game, I hope if you make an "easy mode," you keep the original version too! One thing that might be cool is a small xp gain for crafting, also an autofire key (even though it hurts your efficiency, it would be nice in later levels).
I just finished with a level 48 spy, two beefed up henchmen, and no real trouble by upgrading wisdom to 6 or so as early as possible, and then focusing on a powerful offense with a few points in repair speed. The boomerang tears it up, I got it as soon as I could. I ended with firerate, damage and multiple shots perks, but switched up a lot depending on what I had.
Hired henchmen pretty late (it was even later I realized you could upgrade their weapons) and I got a long-range minelayer for bosses at round 20 or so. Avoid paying for repairs if you can, let the droids do it. If you can bank health points during the early stages of a level, it'll be that much easier to finish with low net damage points and get a better level score.

Okay, so actually after playing awhile I really liked the game. Reminds me of Elona Shooter.
One thing that needs to be changed is it seems the loot isn't random. You should make it so that full item sets and random items drop at random instead of being preselected. Next, you should balanced all the weapons out. The rubber bomb launcher is garbage and a waste of 3,500. Also, hiring henchmen seems to be near impossible with repair costs and income.
This has the potential to be one of the best games on kongregate but it feels linear and unfinished.
Thank you very much for the detailed review!
The loot formula is not quite random as it takes into account the loot you already have (more likely to get the complementary loot).
And, yes, during the initial 3 levels the loot was hardcoded to ensure the player gets the point of crafting/upgrading.
The repair costs were reworked this morning, please, check, isi it ok now? We'll think of how to rebalanse weapons better :)

The Ninja are the only unit that make the game tedious later on, because they start to shoot you while OFFSCREEN, and can slash at your wall the second after teleporting. Later on, a full wave of Ninja can easily remove 1k to the wall before you can even start shooting them.
As you earn enough skill points, you can upgrade: - your fire power - firerate - base health - base repair speed - base armor - income after battle - XP gained after battle. And the weapons are upgraded by attaching the mods

to reply to the response to the question i asked yesterday, i don't think a screenshot can prove that seeing as how it can be faked, but the solution i found is to put some other stuff in and swap it out, so it's not terribly urgent but it is annoying. one more thing you misspelled henchman in doc's story, it's hechmen.

I just want to congratulate Kywyk and gobeproductive. They unlocked all the 15 achievements! Cool! I'm sure soon many more kongregates enter the "Ultimate defenders club" :)

When henchmen use weapons with bullets travelling in curves (rocket launcer, mine layer) they fail to hit certain targets. Stuck at day 20, because they fail to hit the boss.

i like the game 90% of the games i play like this bore the crap out of me in the first 5mins. just needs to be tightened up a lil bit some of the aiming is off by alot sometimes... and just an idea for this one or like games maybe an option to combine 3 maxed mods (alike or diff) to create a mod with 1/3 of each maxed mod ability plus a random "rare" ability or sumthing to that effect? eh just a suggestion
The fact that 2 kong players already own all the 15 achievements telsl that this achievement is possible, too. Just upgrade the base armor and repair speed.

Got a bug for you: I clicked and dragged a purchased weapon on to the 'repair base' button, and it disappeared. Still not back after the next mission. It was the minelayer, so I'm a little said about it.
It seems to me, the minelayervwas just sold. You can buy it again for the same price or just undo your action. But I'll check the game code anyway, thank you!

Good morning, Kongregate!
As we promised, here’s the requested update!
* Now the player keeps some money and loot after loosing a level
* Base repair cost changed
* Some units parameters adjusted
And… check the credits now :)
Thank you very much for your feedback! We do everything we can to make the game interesting for you.

Needs some balancing to be really good. I liked the crafting system (how ever was kinda hoping I could combine multiple colors to get more results).

Bug: Games gets massively harder the less you fail. Failing/dying and retrying makes the game easier.
Bug: Tip #8 implies you can buy things for your ship. You can't.

If you want any mix of weapons to be a passable mix you'd need to rebalance the weapons. Grenade launcher with range and xerox kills or seriously damages most things as they appear. Sniper and sun cannon assistants mop up the stragglers. Headshots are fairly easy and very powerful with the grenade launcher. Finished with 20k or so extra money, level 37. Consider rebalancing the huge ninja swarms though. Sequel with loot drops for weapons and damage types/resistances to encourage strategy and weapon changing would be great. Maybe fewer but tougher enemies. I enjoyed it, 5/5.

2.5/5 nothing unique really aside from the humor, make a mistake early on and you can't win, money is always in short supply and its always extra fun when a kamikaze spawns to high up his weak point is behind the health bar so you can't aim for weak points... all in all just another generic shooter, admittedly one with a story line, but it doesn't really add anything.

My recommendation: have an easy mode that gives you rewards for defeats and a hard mode that does not...if that's not a total pita to code.
