Pretty cool game, very entertaining. The only thing I would change is add more witty replies to the Requirements Room, I tried "ending", "trueend", "happyend", "finale", "bossfight" etc. got nothing, also more replies to swear words etc. (maybe log what people are typing?)
Hi! That's too bad, because "end" or "the end" would have triggered a reaction! I will add those words you suggested in the next update, I think they should trigger a reaction as well. There are currently around 400 words that trigger a reaction in the Requirement Room, maybe you can try to find some more? :-)
As a clue, some (but not all) easter eggs are related to: Nintendo games, Undertale and other sources of inspiration for this game. But there's even more!

I agree with what Tasselfoot said about this game being very trial and error. I also didn't think the platforming physics; the controls were too floaty, which made the lack of coyote time (where you can jump a few frames after leaving a ledge) even worse. I did find some of the secret stuff to be interesting...
You're right! The game doesn't always feel as smooth as I would like it to. The main reason for that is that I created it using the game engine GDevelop 5 for the first time, and focused more on the content of the game rather than it's control. I can not swear that I will add coyote time in the next update, as this might take too much time for now, but I appreciate your comment and I will take it into account for my next games using GDevelop 5, that's for sure!

Can someone give me an additional hint on "learn to be patient"? Spent like 30 mins on this level trying various things including staying still in various manners, no luck so far.
Hi! It seems that you're experiencing a bug here, as you're doing the right thing but it shouldn't take that long. I'm very sorry about it, this issue never happened during the beta-testing period. Have you tried to deactivate Chrome's automatic cookie filter for this webpage, by using the option on the right end of the web address bar, and then reload the page? Otherwise, the game should work fine in other browsers that don't have that automatic filter function, such as Firefox or Safari if you play on a Mac.

Great game! I was disappointed (and amused) to find out the requirements room will give you everything you ask for except for the password

Thanks for being inspired by our games! The one thing I feel this is lacking, which the TITOL series has, is level names. These serve the purpose of giving a veiled clue to the player. As it is now, Exercises in Style is very trial and error, and solutions feel like they've been lucked into, as opposed to being solved.
Hello and thank you for having a look at my game :-)
Although my main reference is Raymond Queneau's book 'Exercises In Style', I can't deny that some of my levels got their inspiration in TITOL. However, once you find the Requirement Room, original gameplay mechanics are added to the game, which are original and weren't featured in the TITOL series (up to my knowledge). About the level names, this is actually rather a choice to make players refer to the Hints Room for help, thus breaking their progression and cancelling the possibility of making a good time in speedrun, thus adding a memorization element to the speedrun segments (especially the 'Special speedrun'). As this was more of a slightly experimental feature, I might reconsider it for future games. So thank you for your feedback!
By the way, did you try typing 'references', 'inspiration', 'this is the only level' or 'jmtb02' in the Requirement Room? ;-)

Troubleshooting: some players reported an issue while loading the game on Google Chrome. The loading screen appears and goes up to 100%, but the game doesn't start. If this happens to you, try to deactivate Chrome's automatic cookie filter for this webpage, by using the option on the right end of the web address bar. Then reload the page. The game should now launch normally.
Please let me know in the comments if you experience a similar issue!

I'm stuck on the close-up level. I got to the star hidden in the wall, but then I died to the red triangle and I can't get it again
