i've been sending a full 12 warbands of dragons at the human territory adjacent to their home territory every round for about 12 rounds,almost always with only 3 enemy units there and yet i can not capture it,i own everything else,they cannot touch me,yet even though the odds at 95% on my ide,i lose every time

catapults when youy use them: "these suck!"

It would be awesome to be able to sell buildings you don't want.
Also the AI that takes over for you seriously needs work. It casusally spends 50% of my gold (some 800 or so) on the begining land.... Which was at least 4 hexes away from danger. Building a sprite defender thingie.

I spent 60 minutes on level 1 with dwarves :) had 2 armies of dragons and my cities fully fortified with stuff, but so did the orc idiots who trapped me from owning

I don't know, but they are too inaccurate in this game to do much against towers.
the way to fix it would be either increase accuracy, or just increase damage.
I was going to say a few more general tips, but I am getting -s so I won't. Besides, I could always start/use a forum for strategies.

to add to my tip, it is wrong, catapults are terrible against towers, but great against the special defensive units. also, they don't get 4-6 kills per volley, more like 4-12.
so they still are not overpowered, just don't send them against towers.

Tip on catapults, it seems that if you get the right number, then they work great. From my experience, that is 3. each volley seems to get 4-6 kills, totaling at around 30-50 in a standard battle. Also, they rip apart towers, so I don't think they are very underpowered, you just need to learn how they are used right.

awesome game, more units and/or upgradeable and a bit more control during battles and it would be a good desktop game imo

If you are orcs, best general army is 6-7 demons and the rest orcs. If you are humans then you need plenty of knights. Archers lose to demons but are perfect for backing up melee figters.

needs a better way to command troops, or getting a pre-battle plan set up because it seems like strategy leaves me worse off

- Less linearity: Right now, the plot is pretty linear - it shows where to attack next with a symbol for crossed swords. It would help if attacking one place as opposed to another resulted in more or less difficulty or outcomes.

Superbly balanced game, some of the best replay value of any game on Kongregate. Gmentat already has the setup for a top game, he should just re-issue the game with some upgrades, like:
- Storyline/dialogue: Even a little plotline would go a long way here.
- Multiple regions: A broader map, similar to Monster's Den. Rather than having just two maps, one of each hemisphere, you could have a map of a world region and when beating it you move on to another.
- Upgrade system: Right now there's really no effect on subsequent battles based on how you've done. This would motivate better performance. You could have weapon caches found throughout the maps, also, or various powerups.
- Elves: Even if just as NPCs featuring in the game somehow, it would be appropriate. And yes, they are spelled "elves" if plural, "elfs" to certain people posting who shall remain nameless.
