@Kirschnik, a Breakthrough is a random "Click-to-get-a-random-boost-in-X-amount-of-time event," that can only occur if you have all Sectors unlocked. The cooldown between each appearance doubles each time it activates, and you will get a tutorial ingame (if you have tutorials on) to explain them when you have your first one, which should (roughly) be the same instant you buy the last sector. There are 2 entire pockets of Specialist Nodes that let you upgrade them. They don't really seem worth it, as the first phase for them costs 4K specialists MINIMUM, going all the way to 10K. Also, I agree with you, a Q&A tab or something similar would be extremely Useful.
Hope this, and my other comment, helps anyone! (Darn the Character limit.)

@uxilator, that is because of your Buy Multiplier. I experienced the same issue; my Multiplier was on one Orbit for me, though when you hover over the node, it only tells you the price of one Phase. One Orbit is equivalent to having the multiplier on One Extension on the sectors screen, so the game keeps you at the same buy multiplier no matter which screen you're on. I hadn't realised this until after starting my second run, so I tried to get to 40 again as fast as I could, to reassign the way the game expected you to do your very first time. A better tutorial on the Buy Multiplier would have prevented this, instead of the brief mention that is currently in place.

Lots of good systems here. Showing production distribution is nice. Graphics are unique and besides some grainy appearance with the starmap background, it looks good. MultiBuy options are great. Progress from soft resets seem way to slow so far. I doubt this will speed up due to the fact you already have in-game purchases in place already. I know you got to make money but slowing progression to a crawl before creating a player-base is a bad way to design a game.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Just a quick and easy suggestion: make the multibuy setting stay the same between two sessions, right now it resets itself to 1 every time and it's driving me nuts
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Good idea, balance and UI. Only one problem - the progress is waay too slooww. Make the progress curve developing faster (much faster) - and it would be a perfect game.
Displaying numbers that way allows for greater precision without involving decimal points. If people are interested we can totally add a number formatting option which displays numbers with 3 numbers and a decimal point (as needed) along with standard notation. e.g. 1234K = 1.23M

Just made my first reassignment with 40 specalists to find out that I could buy a s***. Even if it says in the tool tip that an expand should cost 5 , to push the expand button it requires 288. Or do I miss anything?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
So, I refunded my specialists to reassign them to a different sector/orbit between runs, but now everything costs 300 plus specialists to upgrade. I basically lost all my progress and made the game several orders of magnitude harder. This makes no sense.

I'm 2 days into my game and I've just done my first reset because that's how long it took me to get 40 recruits. That feels too slow. For me, the game is too inactive in general. Yes it's an idle game but when I want to play it for 5 minutes or so there's nothing to do after my first click or two. More tool tips please. I can't seem to activate anything useful in the specialist map even though I waited for the recommended number of recruits before I reset. So more hand holding/tutorial there would be lovely. I see you've had a comment about the version number issue so I'll leave that. I did notice that there seems to be a mistake in the "Geothermal Plant" blurb on the Specialist page. It says that you divide the cost of extensions by 0.010 and I assume that should be 1.010.

Some solid ideas here, but there really needs to be a way to see how much progress is needed to hit the next specialist. Which, on that note, takes WAY TOO LONG to achieve. The tutorial recommends 40, the specialist reassignment screen recommends 15 minimum, and I only had 7 after coming back a day later. By this math, I'd have to let it sit for a little over two days at minimum before getting my specialists - six days going by the tutorial! I know this is an idle game, but most games don't have such a high wall before getting your first functional prestige tier.
Given all of the feedback we're receiving about early game progression we're definitely going to look over the numbers again. Thank you for letting us know how you feel!

game bugged out on me, somehow "upgrade once" "upgrade extension" etc. aren't doing what they're supposed to. reloading doesnt fix

And can I get a resources / second toggle for seeing how much each sector is bringing in? It's really hard to compare them as it is.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
One minor suggestion to consider, I love the name of the game. AND, it is incredibly difficult to google search for things related to it. Might consider tweaking it to improve searchability.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Also can you add a symbol & terminology guide to the game? I have no idea what the double ^ means or System Update, Extension, Optimization for that matter. What does improving any one of those do?

Would really like to see the target for next specialist. And that doesn't have to be per 1. Maybe for the next increment. Or maybe let me type in a # and see what my target is & time to completion. Right now I'm sitting at 32 and wondering what my target is to reach the next specialist. And especially to reach the recommended 40 for the first reset. Is there an equation somewhere?

Tedious. Prestiging is almost worthless early on because the boost is tiny and it takes nearly 300 specialists to get a bonus effect. There's no way of re-reading the tutorial so if you forget what a word means, you're stuffed. Earnings are really imblanced between the two main incomes and it's hard to balanace. Not a lot of fun.

I like it a lot. The progress is pretty slow and UI is hard on the eyes (though I am playing on a cheap laptop with a pretty awful display). I wish the bars in the graph toggled to show active dps of each thing, the upgrade buttons showed how much of a dps increase upgrading would bring, and that the planetary re-assignment page told you how far away the next specialist one. I know this is a lot of complaining, but I love the look and feel of the game. That said, Kong and Flash being on their deathbeds probably means this game has no future... Any plans to move it to steam?
Thanks for the feedback! No worries, Infinite Cosmos will be launching on other platforms, including Steam, in the future. We want to see our game thrive despite what is currently happening with Kongregate.

The intensity boost doesn't really matter for the longer ones since you don't get anything. Maybe a speed boost or something would be better.

Versioning doesn't make sense. Some requirements say "Need 1.0.50", but my version number is 1.10.00, which is a higher version number.
Thank you for pointing this out. The required version number stated on Extension tooltips is incorrectly not including the required Extension portion of the version number (the middle number). We’ll fix this in the next update!

I played somewhat during the pre-release before shrugging and - ha! - idly wondering if it might be worth checking in on later. 278 days later, if the Offline Earnings were to be believed, I find that no, it is not. Click an upgrade, wait five minutes. Click another upgrade, wait another ten. The sense of progression is truly disincentival to continuing, before even touching on how long it takes to get to 'prestige' points beginning to accrue, or how fifteen of them are required to be able to use any. Nice user interface, but crippled by the same tropes that plague the rest of the genre: zero reason to bother returning.

I really like the game but my CPU and GPU usage is very high when I have the tab in front. (Chrome and Firefox) Is there any optimization planned?
Absolutely! In fact, that is actually part of what we are working on right now. The performance is not where we want it to be, and there is plenty of room for improvement.

I've played only a few minutes yet but I really do appreciate incomes chart, also the game looks pretty nice, so keep going and looking for updates :)
The stated effect for Specialist Nodes is the added effect per phase. If you notice, the current effect for the Nodes you are referring to is already at 1.00. So each added 0.01 will reduce the cost. Hope that helps!

What do the upgrade version numbers even mean? I don't understand the bar chart, does that show the credits I'm earning or the population?
Regarding the version: The first is the number of System Updates you have done on a Sector. The second is the number of Extensions you have installed during this System Update. The third is the number of Upgrades you have made during this System Update.
The bar chart is a normalized representation of the output (Credits and Citizens combined) per second of each Sector. The smallest being the lowest per second, the largest being the highest per second, and all the other proportionately in between.
Every time you collect a Holo-Vid you have a chance to receive Cosmium. Cosmium from GOPHERs should be pretty straightforward once you unlock GOPHERs, but if you still have questions then don’t hesitate to ask! Earning Credits and Citizens will attract Specialists which you can collect by requesting a Planetary Reassignment.
The default number formatting is “Short” which displays numbers in groups which roughly mirror common English-language abbreviations for large numbers (i.e. K=thousand, M=million, B=billion). You can find the two other number formatting options in the Settings menu (the cog button in the top-left).
Every time a Sector completes an operation, it has a chance to Boost, which multiplies the amount of Credits and Citizens you receive for that operation. Boost Intensity increases the multiplier applied when a Boost occurs.

The game is really fun and has a lot of potential. I also laugh at some of the descriptions for optimizations. Keep up the good work.

i can move over spaceport and still get a popup, but cant buy/do anything else. statistics in bottom left are still increasing
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
same issu, about 2 minutes in, during tutorial, got first extension, and now nothing can be selected, and no tutorial left to click on, restart game is not helping
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Cant click anything like 2 minutes in, only have the 1st and 2nd money making things unlocked. Theres like a black see through layer on top of everything. Reloading page and game do not help. Broken as hell.
You are on a step of the tutorial. Do you see the tutorial panel at the bottom? You can click through the pages on it the read it and/or click the close button to dismiss it. Once you do that, the dark filter will fade away and the game will be interactable.

Well, no success yet. However I am now seeing an interesting message, namely "You must make room in your augment inventory before collecting this GOPHER", which suggests I simply do not know how to find my augment inventory.. Any suggestion for where it may be?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Thanks for the reply, Sven. I had previously tried dragging and dropping without any apparent effect, i.e. no dragging animation nor augment show in the respective slot. Will try again though. Oh and just in case this might be a browser-specific bug, I am using Firefox 81.
