The game is a question of how lucky you are to be able to avoid the lighting cloud, the wizard is too slow. With more power-ups the game is not bad.

Lightning strikes need to be not always on the right side (but if they move, the cloud needs to show up a touch slower I guess). Needs other things that are harder to take down over time.

Thanks for the comments gents .. I have made changes to the game as follows: 1) Rate of fire / damage balancing to make the game more "intense". 2) Lightening strikes more frequent. 3) No repetition of messages. 4) Levels are shorter to ramp up game quicker. Hope that makes the game more enjoyable for you all. Cheers.

grainsalt, I enjoyed it. I agree with the other commenters that it was too easy. I don't think I should be able to beat any game on the default difficulty on the first try. I walked away for 15+ seconds towards the end of round 19 and still made it through round 20. The only level that I found challenging was 20 but that might be partly because I was playing catchup from round 19. I like the sound effects, the ambient music, and graphics. The movement of the wizard wasn't to my liking though. Get rid of the warnings after the first time and let the player know that powerups need to be shot. Make the powerups go by faster and put in different ones. I give the game 3/5 with a +1 for potential and developer feedback. Final score: 4/5

Hmm.. This is an ok starts. There are a lot of shooting games out there, so there is a lot of comparison. But your idea is fairly original. The number one problem I have with this game is that it is very slow and somewhat boring. Games need to be fastpaced if they are shooter games, and music isnt a bad idea either. Keep working on it, and you will have a fun game on your hands! :D 2/5

Good start, needs work. For starters, the warnings 'grab the powerup' and 'avoid the lightning' get irritating after the first time and detract from the challenge. Also, the wizard has far too much life and the pumpkins don't remove enough when they get past. I'm thinking being able to lose 5 pumpkins is much more challenging - when I gave up on level 19 I had to wait a full two minutes to die.
Also could use more variety of enemies - perhaps a witches cat that attacks or ghosts etc.
