This game... Was it actually made by the same person? because the first one is so much better then this, plus this is supposed to be a development of it? Worse gameplay, MUCH slower, and just not enjoyable... I'm sorry

up vote this to show great cogs that we want the full version of this if its going to be absolute crap and find out that's its a demo and not the full version after waiting so long

I hated it at first but when you get into the parkour it actually is kinda fun, also the controlls are different then the first game but you can get used to it.

Terrible controls, stupid gameplay, one star is too much for that. Big disappointment. I will never buy anything from you. Never

This is most disappointing video game sequel since The Adventure of Link. It abandons the minimalist look that was part of the first game's charm, and worse, abandons the unique stealth mechanic halfway through in favor of generic overly-difficult platforming. That wouldn't be so bad if the controls weren't so bad tat it's a crap shoot whether or not your character will actually jump when you press the jump button. The vast majority of deaths will come from the jump not working when you need it to. I can understand wanting to do something different for the sequel, but there is something to be said for the phrase "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

I found this. Started suddenly to play, cos I loved the first.
I found controls are near being terrible, and the game "bastardly" designed.
Just had managed to overcome a really hard part, when I've disccovered it is just a demo. AND NO MENTION ABOUT THIS IN THE TITLE. Ashaming

The controls feel far too unresponsive for something that aims to be a difficult platformer. It feels like you keep sliding just a half-second too long after you stop moving, and you start moving in general just a bit slow. The level design assumes the controls are good, but since they aren't, it's frustrating for all the wrong reasons. The fact that I can no longer just hold space after I pounce onto an enemy to keep pummeling him is, in my eyes, a huge demerit. I don't want to have to mash my spacebar, wondering if it's even registering half of my presses, just to make sure I kill an enemy in decent time. The control scheme isn't customizable and uncomfortable. I don't know, on it's own, this game could be decent or even pretty good. But compared to the first, it's not as fun or charming or convenient. It feels half-assed considering the release intervals. Everything about it is just a letdown if you've played the first, when you can imagine what could've been and what was.

I was really exited when I saw this sequel, five years later, but honestly I liked the first a lot better. The motion and controls just feel off in this, and I preferred the graphics before being much more minimalistic. This sequel had a lot to live up to, but it just doesn't feel right.

@ezio, when it is a keyboard only game there is no need for the mouse. Then typically you either have right hand on directional keys and left hand on some keys for extra controls, or left hand on directional keys (WASD) and right hand on some keys for extra controls, occasionally positioned as IJKL.
This game would feel far more naturally if you could move with arrow keys in my opinion.

The puzzle aspects of the first one were fun, the first level of this has that, then you get thrown into a bunch of rolling boulder and statues dropping blocks and then there's a bunch of precision jumps over spikes where if you miss one, you have to start at the beginning again. I'm disappointed, because I loved the first game so much.

This game really isn't worth the 5 year wait. I feel like I'm on ice, and the game just doesn't have the same puzzle-y feel that the last one did. Calling this episode 2 is a disservice to the first game.

@rpresser Since when? WASD is the de-facto control scheme of any game now, because it frees up the right hand to use the mouse. Since when would "evil left-handed developers" deliberately use a control scheme which stops them from being able to use the mouse at all. Or do you want to explain how you use wasd and the mouse with your right hand.

I am so incredibly sad that we finally got a sequel to possibly one of the best Flash games I've ever played and it's a "perfection platformer" with sloppy controls and poor responsiveness. Finishing the story isn't worth slogging through the game. *goes to play the first game again*

This game is laggy. In the level with the boulders, I press space and the character won't jump. I let go of the "D" key and the character keeps running.

Now just another 5 years for the next episode.......
Is it just me or are the waiting periods for this amazing game just too damn long?

just code in the arrow keys for the controlls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I loved the first one for being a nice puzzle platformer… This one is platformer hell with slippery controls and quite unfair level design. Sorry, I don't think I'll be buying full version.

It was good to see a sequel. I started playing it... and I found out it's just a short demo of regular Steam game. If I knew about this, I wouldn't feel like I've been kicked in my balls even after noticing it's goddamn short (did it even last for 5 minutes?).
However, if only warning about this being demo version is link below whole game description - it disappointed me way too much for any other rating than 1/5. And you deserved it, despite making game which is probably very good.

Just finished the game. Was quite nice! ^^
Looking forward for VPVD 3.
And please don't let us wait for another 6 years! ^^

Well, I liked it too, but after the difficult vertical part the demo is already over. A little short for my taste. 5/5 if it was the full game. 5/5 - demo penalty = 4/5

5 years felt like nothing when you get this amazing game. i will play it over and over! i would hope you add some more stealth mechanics and more ways to kill such as maybe dropping bricks to grab there attention as i rip them to shreds other than that 10000000000000/10
