I like the idea behind this but I didn't like the execution. Every time when I get hit by some powerful words, I just lost my concentration and have to read again. Also there seems no indications where one platforms ends and another begins, so half the time I fall down offscreen. And sometimes, especially with stacked words, the platforms are so small, and the controls are sometimes so slippery that you miss easily and fall offscreen again. Fortunately I like to read books so I'll just read them in paper form instead.

Really love the idea and the game but do not like the more gamey aspects. I kept getting Fs because I was enjoying the stories and the layout too much to care about my score. Someone else suggested a zen mode but since this came out almost a decade ago...

I actually sort of wish this was Less game. Specifically, unlocking levels and losing points for being hit with powerful words kind of breaks my immersion in the story- i find this a really nice way to read. Maybe a zen mode?

I have encountered a glitch. In The Nameless City part 3, if I fall off the ledge right after the phrase "half suspecting they were artificial idols" I don't respawn.

i want to rate this 5/5, but the fading red words are sometimes hard to see (depending on the background) which means you sometimes get hit without seeing why. making the screen move to the right sooner would help fix it, but for now it's just 4/5

I love the concept but my eyes are killing me and i can't get absorbed in the poetry with the gameplay distracting me. Each to their own i guess.

I love this game. It was extremely well designed, as all of Gregory Weir's games have been. I am glad to see something different than the average poorly-created game.

My main issue is some of the stories are so hard, that I WANT to absorb it, but powerful words keep stopping me. I can't enjoy H.P Lovecraft when there are 3 words continuosly knocking me out. I waited for five minutes on two lines. If I had been reading the book I would have gone past that very quickly.

This is a really cool idea that was poorly created. Don't get me wrong, it's a fun game, but I feel it could have been much better. All in all 3/5.

This is a beautiful way to help people, especially the younger audiences read poetry. I love the concept, and it was beautiful how there were letters in the background that helped progress the story. I would to love to see more stories and poems available in this format. Truly a lovely game... wait, did i miss a letter D: . A+, I mean 5/5

so the "powerful" words are very annoying because they can be reset. Also if you are about to touch one and it shots its letters at you it completely messes everything you did up. Also can we get more of a heads up to whats ahead of us? I always get hit by powerful words mecause I run into them because I cant see them.

Definitely enjoyed the reading, and the music. My only complaint would be that at times the powerful words would be nigh-impossible to see and would ambush you. Besides that, wonderful game.

Ok, I take it back, for some sections having to retouch words did get annoying. Just get rid of the powerful words or have them stay bright the whole time.

There is only one thing keeping this game from being great and it's the "powerful words." I can read while platforming. I cannot read and notice a faint red word floating in from off screen. I didn't mind having to touch some words again, but losing the ability to get an A+ because I touched something I could barely see even if I wasn't reading was not cool. Fortunately, I don't really care about the rank but some players might. Why I don't like it from a game design perspective is I now question your objective in making the game. Was it to make a platformer or was it to present great writing in a creative way? You do the latter (I love the words flying by whenever a sandstorm is mentioned in "nameless city") but this mechanic can get in the way. I will note that it was only a problem when they were on the same level as where i was walking. I didn't have this issue when they were stacked vertically.

I'd have much rather had the powerful words in their own seclusive levels, or an option to not have them, as it many times get in the way of the reading.

On my first try A+ and a score of 1000, without getting hit and not missing a single word ... BTW the Jump skill works even if you bump on something. Thats based on what I just did o0n the Tutorial :D

I rather think there should be a story mode-or version, if you prefer-and a poetry one. I found The Nameless City...awesome, and the poetry a bit boring.

the game is just amazing! i was kinda sad to see that the nameless city parts 1 2 and 3 were separated by other stories, i was so into the nameless city part one that i wanted to play part two right away but i couldn't other than that onve more it was amazing:)

Do not all words hold power? Though it would make such a game impossible, it seems wrong to deny the majority of the words in this game the power they truly possess. Though, the comments of those who have played and loved this game perhaps attest more deeply to the power of these words than any mechanic.

i love it :) but is there not an impossibility in getting an A+ for every level? the speed-things seem to be locked, and i found one word one can not highlight: in the unnamed city part 1, "footholes in a *preciptous* _descent_ " (* ... * being a red word, and _ descent _ below being the non-reachable word)

To turn such art into such a game is truly a remarkable way of getting priceless scriptures out there to the masses. I saw a few poems I havn't seen before, and that was a marvelous feeling to gain, especially when I expected to head to kongregate and attain far less wholesome entertainment.

OMG! A game about reading stories that involves reading stories? I think I just spooged. Mr. Weir, you are certifiable. As in a certifiable genius ;) 5/5, playlisted and faved.

It's a very good game, but some of the stories/poems are too long. I was reading the Nameless City, but about halfway through I lost interest in the story.

I really enjoy the poetry, Especially The Nameless City. The music, and the words and backgrounds really set the mood. It makes it more enjoyable to read, and makes it even easier to get sucked into the poems and stories.
