Weird. I got the badges in Sep 2011, after the last update. I don't quite remember which ship I used for the final levels, but pretty sure it wasn't Shock&Awe (can't remember ever using that at all). Now I replayed it and S&A was the only way to beat the final level.

Bouncing off of the walls is a HUGE booster when it comes to dodging. Hugging the wall prevents some weapons from firing.
The gears repair your ship as you fight. This can be leveraged.
The homing things last longer than is worth dealing with, run into them and move on.
Leave a medium ship then explode all of the mines at once so you can heal up before next wave.
Switching targets is not worth learning, especially since it removes a finger from directional controls.
You can switch ships in the middle of a level, can hit you with cool-down on your 2w.
Some ships satellites must be destroyed to drop shields.
I counted to ~7 between lightning orbs. On "The Big Guns" these don't spawn in at the same time. They also don't always spawn with their shields. If RNG gives you two giant ships' satellites within the shield of the other, switch to Weapon X, time shift and switch to something with a little more firepower. Going after ships as they spawn should make replay easier.

Elikan, just take your mouse, hold down the left mouse key, and move it offscreen and back onscreen. It should autofire

I want to like this but I am constantly dealing with the issue of keys and such getting stuck - getting the standard fire stuck ON due to, I guess, holding it during dialogue is one thing.
Starting the boss stage and *not being able to move* is another.

I'm only about 10 or 15 minutes into this game, but I'm wondering if it was some sort of precursor to Bubble Tanks. Bubble Tanks and Stormwinds were both released on Kong in 2007, while this came out in 2011, and yet the quality of this game seems markedly lower--no customization options for the ships that I see, my shots are going through enemies without damaging them, and there's just something about this game that just feels more primitive. It almost seems like they started working on this, then left it to work on other projects . . . but never really gave this the polish it needed before releasing it.

suffers from pretty much the same problems that Bubble Tanks does: strafe and blast, repeat ad nauseam, don't be surprised if you never see what you're hitting either xD. the music, though extremely repetitive as well, and despite using really cheap samples (i'd swear that cymbal sounds almost MSGS, lol), doesn't seem to get on my nerves. that's weird. not bad, as far as games go, but kinda sad. could've been so much more.

You can "enable" auto fire by holding the left mouse button and dragging it out of the game window and releasing it. The game didn't see you releasing the button, so it thinks you're still holding it and it will keep shooting.

I love the attitude, graphic style, and even the music (which I'd probably hate in a different context, but fits perfectly here). However, the difficulty curve relative to your ability to upgrade your ship made the grind unbearable for me halfway through. And, as others have noted, your field of vision is so tiny that you never even see half your enemies before you've destroyed them.

Giant middle finger to all the shielded enemies. Extra ****s for when their generators spawn within said shields. Good game though

I can get the first two missions just fine but the third wave of the third mission is impassable for me. Guessing it's going to require me to grind out at least one more ship upgrade by repeating the first two missions over and over. Not interested in doing that since my mouse finger is already tired. Needed an auto fire desperately.

Hard badge tips:
(1) Once you get Bullet Storm, start saving cash, then buy Shock and Awe.
(2) Shock and Awe can push bosses out of the arena so they can't shoot and you can finish them later, after minions are cleared.
(3) Laptop players: if the game lags too much - go to in-game settings and decrease quality - "Efficiency Mode".
(4) Aim Bullet Storm's special at the center of larger enemies for heavy damage / insta kills.
(5) You can switch ships during the mission.

Title says 'Dead Metal', so we can kill metal now????? I don't wanna kill metal. I wanna be a zombie and kill humans. Why is that not this game?????

The "shock and awe" ship is necessary to counter ships with shields; electricity goes right through and pushing ships around is always fun

guess not remembering how to play does win the game im done now maybe i was being to evasive when i played it before i pretty much just chased everything down these 2 runs. Keep up the good work.

Pretty sure i liked this game but i had trouble with the last 2 levels and by the end of an attempt at a level your wrist just hurts. Just came back after a long while and beat one of those 2. Maybe not really remembering how to play the game helps because i beat it my first try. taking a break will try the last one some time.

I encountered a bug/glitch. when i died during the level "The Exiles" to buy a new ship, the game kept spamming a message saying I've died on wave 1 even when i didn't start the level. when i did start the level, the level ended instantly with the spamming continuing. i absolutely love this game, kinda sucked that it glitched i was enjoying it

To beat the final level (big guns), use the pause menu (defaults to 'P') to swap between the "Shock and Awe" and "Crusher" ships. Use the "Shock and Awe" to push the big green ships out of the playing field. Use the crusher to destroy everything else. By the time the big green ship comes back, you should have everything else destroyed.

I found that the green guys' shields made them invulnerable for long periods of time, which seems really unfair. Please at least limit the shield's health/tell me how to disable the shields

I like this game. My favourite part was the convo at the beginning of the "Murder, They Wrote" mission. I like that it is arena style and not a scroller. I cannot find any flaws, so it might be perfect. The bad part could be that this game is so similar to many other shooters, making it nothing special.

For those not liking running around in circles without seeing half the action: Use another ship! With Shock and Awe you can ram other ships. The gameplay becomes way different from a typical shooter.

A lot of things make this game bad, but I think the worst part is that you fail the mission before your life bar empties completely

@brichards: Since this is a Flash Player game, right-click brings up a menu for Flash Player, so it can't be used as an action key in-game. Flash Player also does NOT recognize mouse wheel movement. Both your ideas would work in WebGL though (or Unity Web Player if you use a browser that still supports Unity.)
