Sadly unplayable, if my mouth closes on a microbe, then it should be considered eaten. There is no way Im sitting here chasing these things for 10 minutes per level just hoping I get the perfect storm of speed and positioning the eat, especially when its impossible to lose.

The last level gets really annoying/boring. Also, that little spin thing the cell does when the mouse gets too close to it is really annoying, and makes it hard to do anything...

The movement here and the hit boxes for "eating" an enemy are a bit too loose for my enjoyment. The concept is nice, but the execution is pretty lacking. I think Feeding Frenzy had this nailed down first and still holds it's own comparatively.

I found a "glitch" that helps eat other microbes. Press pause when you are about to eat, gets you better chances to succeed.

The game is at least tolerable until level 11, at which point the fact that eating enemies is near impossible and takes forever really kills the game as you have no somehow navigate a maze of obstacles that your enemies aren't affected by that can easily result in your death.

This game is beyond bad. It's frustrating and boring. You have to wait for the enemy to split before they can be eaten, eating doesn't work 90% of the time when it should, you have to chase every single enemy around forever, and your abilities are all worthless.

in the level which first introduced virusus,i was a virus but i could survive long enough b'cause i ate protiens. Then the enemy died by itself.

Way too hard to eat things. There's so much delay from when you start eating to when you actually try to eat whatever's there that the enemy is long gone. Because of this and the easiness of the levels, it's just a matter of waiting for the enemy to split, TRY to eat it, and rinse and repeat until you finally win.

The worst thing about this game is that it's just total luck as to whether you manage to eat a few proteins early in the game. On higher levels, there are more enemies so you need more luck for proteins to pop up near you. If they do, you're too big to eat so you win; if they don't, one of your enemies eats you.

It's a pretty good game. However, it is so difficult to actually eat another organism I got bored and gave up on level 3. Plus my 'allies' AI is so bad that they spent more time chasing each other.

This game has so many flaws...enemies can go off screen, both you and the enemies can become invincible, it's ridiculously hard to catch microbes to eat them due to the unresponsive controls, the only reason you can win is due to the scripted AI, the only thing you can do besides chase opponents is worthless and the biggest offender: The game is the most boring I've played in a long while.

The delay between when you start to chomp an enemy and when it actually vanishes is maddening! Going faster is actually a disadvantage because you can actually move right through and enemy and not eat it because it was past your mouth by the time you chomped! As already noted by others, strategy is a joke since, even though your allies have a better shot at eating an enemy they're pursuing (thanks to both being plugged into the same A.I.), they'll split before they eat anything and just get themselves eater. This is officially the first time I've said "I hate this game" on Kongregate.

It would be nice to activate speed boost while in pursuit of microbes. I know numbers on keyboard are supposed to correspond to abilities, but how are we supposed to know which when everything is so chaotic? Also the destroy friendly for area damage is way to weak an ability to balance the loss. (if you can even catch your target in the first place) Same goes for switching microbe control. Since mouse controls the movement, it's nearly impossible. Especially when there's no differentiation between the controlled microbe and the rest of your team. After 10 mins or so on lvl 4 with no progress, I had to quit. You should at least integrate keyboard movement if you expect this game to survive. 2/5

Would be nice if the tutorial explained what each of the different abilities actually do. A level restart button would also help so I wouldn't need to exit to the main menu and reselect the level.

I was really looking forward to playing this game but the controls were EXTREMELY IRRITATING! :( Endless chasing... I would be halfway covering a tiny enemy and it took 5+ seconds for it to detect it.
I'm disappointed. This could be a lot better! I like these kinds of games.

The way the game is designed, splitting is useless. Even if the ones you don't control actually grow and don't just get eaten, they just split again as soon as they are big. The game would be much better if you could control when your allies split.

Microbe Kombat is a fun little game we’ve whipped up that pits microbes against each other in an ultimate confrontation- gladiator style...."pits"?

Flawed, but fun. Dividing is actively harmful; the game would actually be impossible if the enemy never did so. The player has no real chance of losing as soon as they eat a couple of pellets. Even viruses can be held off indefinitely while waiting for the enemy to split into edible parts. If anything, the last level is easier this way, rather than attempting to dodge every passing virus. Still, it's a nice way to kill twenty minutes, and it's worth a lot of points for its length and difficulty.

I wish that you could eat the smaller microbes more easily. You're just chasing em all over the screen and your mouth misses em half the time...other than that good game..

"Live on, and pass your genes to the distant future"
Except that I was infected when I beat level 12, so I don't think my genes will make it very far...

My conclusion: Not too difficult if you don't divide; eating is really annoying, division is pointless, and you can't eat enemies when they're stunned because you circle around them. Plenty good mechanics, but the poor eating brings it down to a 4/5.

needs a in between level upgrades and such when i played most of the later levels i HAD to get infected because there was no way to avoid it so there should be upgrades for immunity ability to upgrade you microbe and such its a good game as a core game but it has the ability to be way more p.s your right don't divide ;)

Not that good since the enemy splitting is a good thing. Splitting is supposed to be good for you, but when you split you put yourself in danger and when the enemy splits they usually die right away. It also stinks how if you take awhile to eat a enemy when it splits, the other one will eat another protein and become too big for you to eat, forcing you to wait for it to split again. Mostly a waste of time.

There really needs to be some way to tell health/size besides just the size of the avatar. For one, the different shapes of enemies makes it hard to tell if you're big enough to phage them or not. And it's difficult to tell how close you are to dying from a virus, which would allow for better strategy on if you need to eat this protein or if you can afford to let your opponent eat it and split so you can phage them.

This isn't a very good game when you realize an insane amount of the time is spent waiting for the opponent to split and splitting yourself is literally pointless. Plus they can go off screen...
