So... The screen is kinda big- actually it's gigantic, I had to reduce my screen size to 50% to be able to see everything. That's not too great. Also, this game could really benefit from some music. Or sound effects. Really, any kind of noise at all. Lastly, the game seemed have its basic functions done right, at least up until the first boss fight. The bats(?) keep spawning basically right into you, which makes it impossible to win. Other than that, nicely done :)

Barry gives some solid advice; take it. The only point I have to add is to NOT make the coins a solid object. Going up to get a coin only to get bonked down into a laser is not fun.
