Good, reminds me of the old mega drive game Fatal Labyrinth. Only trouble is sometimes the damage from the enemy is wildly random with sime doing barely any and the next killing you outright.

Okay, I've confirmed it. Once you die, your stats get force-reset. So if you had 2 att and +4 att sword, you are now just 2 att WITH the sword. And if you remove the sword your att is -2.

Not bad at all; a little work needed on the items as it sometimes swaps your weapon for a worse one; but on the whole a thourghly enjoyable game.

I was enjoying the game quite a bit, then I went to use Bless Weapon, and it told me to pick a monster to cast my Sleep Spell on. Then, almost dead, I tried to cast Heal. It simply gave me +3 attack. Go ahead, vote me down because the game is buggy, but I can only give this game a 3/5 until this gets worked out. I'm sure it'll be a 5/5 when the spells work correctly.

Please quit auto selling, at least give me the choice to make my own decisions. After all, an rpg is all about deciding what to do with the little guy on the screen. If I can't decide how to level my guy at least let me decide how to equip them. oh and fix the bugs please. For now 3/5, want to give a higher rating but I just can't bring myself to vote any higher for now.

I feel like this game could really use a system where you can earn things that will make you powerful for your next playthrough. You know, like, reach level 3 to get a permanent +1 Strength, or gain 20 levels across all playthroughs to gain 10% more EXP. That kind of thing, so you feel like even when you lose you've made some progress. Obviously it wouldn't work in just an update of this game, but something worth thinking about if you ever make another.

Pretty good dungeon crawler needs a strategic element like "Enchanted Cave" has. Where you have to evaluate which monsters are worth killing. It would also be nice if it would save every x level so you dont have to start over all the time

Very good game. Id love to see some more classes, items and maybe a town where you can use your gold... etc. Hope youll make a sequel in near future :).
Keep up the good work.

It's a good foundation, but at the moment there are three main issues that keep it from being an excellent game.
1. The numerous bugs (with spells especially)
2. The game auto-discarding items it considers less worthy, robbing you off any possibility to gear towards a certain attribute or two
3. Moving into a room with three elementals and getting killed by their spells before having a chance to do anything about it.

I swapped a spell, and it caused a bug. Here's the situation: I had Teleport and Magic Armor equipped (along with others, but they aren't important). I removed Teleport and equipped Stone Skin. The very next spell I cast happened to be Magic Armor, but instead of working normally, it acted as though I had cast Teleport! Stone Skin worked normally, but the problem with Magic Armor thinking it was actually Teleport persisted.

Wolfa12, good job comparing a rogue-like and a shooter. I'd create multiple accounts to downrate your comment into oblivion if I had the time for it.
Idoyehi, great job on the game. You've got the fundamentals for a crawler down, though I do miss some commands, like the ability to close doors. Makes kiting a bit easier :D Skill/perk trees and unlockable classes would be a nice addition. Love the footstep sound effect, great music, beautiful sprites. I wish you the best and hope this pans out into a franchise for you.

There needs new.. "mage" like weapons.. I don't like being a mage with a huge mace. Warrior, yes probably the worst class, anything that has to be up close to attack, just is bad, SINCE.. some of the monsters HAPPEN TO BE ABLE TO 1 SHOT YOU.

Wowza man, what's up with all the bugs in here? I really was liking the game until I started running into all sorts of stuff, like spells not actually switching into/out of sockets right, getting randomly stuck on the screen, all sorts of stuff that I'd think would have been fairly obvious fairly early. The game is good, it's just really hard to play when you're running into bugs all the time.

It's a pretty good game, except for a few things:
1) The instructions are all presented to you at once, in a somewhat boring manner.
2) Leveling up has preset skills, you don't get to customize your character (as far as I know).
3) Enemies are stupid. It would be nice if choke points were useful, but an enemy will get stuck behind another enemy in an attempt to attack you, and then just kinda stand there.
4) When I was near death, I used heal, gained full health, and still died. The spells should be calculated before enemy attack, unless this is just the random damage that Zelenka pointed out.

Nice game, I like it all around.
I also did have the problem with spells, where I end up with blank spells in slots that I can't use or replace with new spells. It just says 'use an empty cell to swap items' and won't let me put any new spells in.

I would absolutely love this game... if it wasn't so bug-filled as to be more frustrating than fun. If this is intended to convince players to purchase the full version, I fear it is having the exact opposite effect. I'm being warned away from spending any money for fear the full version turns out to be as bug filled, or even more buggy than this is...

Give me thumbs down if you want, be we should atleast have more then 2 lives.. I'm having fun as a thief and die in one hit with full health then game over? p.s fix the bugs 3/5.

Lots of FUN! The way it randomizes each time you play is cool, and the weapons and armor are fun to find, and spells too are alot of fun to use! ...But then you start to see all the bugs and simple problems. "Ehhemm... first, there should be a reason for gold, other wise leave it out. Two, give me the option if I want the item or not! Three, if you die once, you are totally screwed as it makes you almost as weak as on lvl 1. Four, glitchy spells, did create double twice, only to get +1 speed... not what I needed right then ;).
I had to give it 3 stars because of the little problems, otherwise I would have TOTALLY ENJOYED this game. and played over and over, because of the randomizing. but alas, I will not play it again... unless I see like an updated version or cardinal quest II.
last thing, when swapping spells or weapons, program it so I can swap without having to remove the inventoried item first.... no fun :(!

This really needs a Save Game feature. I enjoy the game a lot, but I can't play for hours on end and I don't have the patience to restart more than a couple of times.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I really want to play this game, but it's tough to do that when you have to restart every few minutes due to spells and crap getting frozen in the middle of your screen, and the game constantly thinking that there are spells and stuff in slots where there aren't. It's a real shame. I hope it all gets worked out really.

So wait... I used my freeze spell and I teleported to a random location. Ranged enemies seem to have unlimited range, so the spiders I tried to freeze combined with the 3 I teleported into destroyed me instantly D:

Like a lot of folks, I ran into problems with spells - particularly when I tried to swap spells through the inventory. Slot 4 became completely unusable; there's nothing there, but every time I try to put something in that slot, I get an error saying the slot isn't empty.

"Well, sir, we finished making the labyrinth, we let in a bunch of bandits and let some slimes in, what should we do now?" "We must install over nine thousand doors!"
Construction process.

here are some of my ideas
1.rare rooms with a store where you can buy items with gold
2.more classes
3.endless mode (unlimited levels)
4.able to upgrade weapons and armor

A ton of bugs. Stat force reset on death, monsters shooting from half a map away ('cause you blinked from them or something),e.t.c.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Game has a lot of promise, but it feels really unpolished and incomplete. Worst of all it's impossible to save your game to continue later! Also the many bugs make playing this a frustrating experience... which is a shame because I can see a really fun dungeon crawler underneath it all.

I liked the Idea of the game. The only problem I have with it is that it doesn't give you more lives that you can find in a treasure chest. But still worth it.5/5

OK, I used the Heal spell, and I teleported to a random spot on the floor. And got killed. I respawned. I got hurt, tried using heal again, teleported again, died even more gruesomely, and got a game over. WHAT?

A few criticisms:
1) A better explanation of what each skill does would be nice. Sure, Haste makes me faster, but how much faster? And exactly what does "Speed" do, anyway?
2) It needs an endless mode.
3) A save feature, for coming and going (not for dying).
4) More specific weapon types. While it was fun backstabbing enemies with a mace, it would have worked better aesthetically with a dagger.
Apart from the other bugs already mentioned, a relatively solid game. Well done.

Spell bug is annoying as hell... Winning combo: Mage - Fireball, charm, heal, invisibility, haste. This works for ANY situation. Fireball melee champs from afar, whenever there is more than 1 mob, charm the strongest one and let it kill everything else. If there is a strong caster type, invis and then backstab for massive damage, fireball if it doesn't die. Always keep haste up 100% of the time and get as much +speed gear as possible. Heal any time you get hit by anything (stupid elementals) and it's gg. In the end of the game I got AT LEAST 2 turns on ANY mob, including the minotaurs at the end, which with haste up I actually got 3 turns to anything, just 2 turns was when haste wore off. I literally couldn't be hit by anything that wasn't ranged (stupid elementals). Game was a bit easy once I had the perfect setup.

Not bad (apart from a few bugs); but WHY did you think it would be a good idea to make the map a barely readable overlay?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
A lot of fun, needs some type of 'save point' somewhere so you don't have to start on level one at the beginning of every game.

-The Space key have the same use as Enter.
-To heal when you don't have anymore health pots or heal spells ready, use all your spells (preferably) then use a mana potion and it will regenerate the heal spell.
-I find that the heal spell is not terribly good (even if it always heals you to full) once you get something useful to put in the last slot, as it doesn't recharge fast enough.
-You can use Shadow walk even if you're in front of an enemy, because it will still make you invisible to enemies. Then you can go near an enemy and hit it for a backstab (which does double damage) as long as you are invisible, which is easier if you use Haste or freeze the enemy before going invisible.
-When you use sleep on an enemy, attacking him won't awake him. So you can make an enemy come after you, go away from other enemies until the 1st one is next to you, then make him sleep and buff your (or debuff his) speed or attack or both if needed, then attack him and he won't attack back.
