@markitou
Levels 22-24 were removed but you can play them on Steam. And yes, I literally got that just from reading the developers' comments above :)

Is it a demo or something? I can't get past level 21, and the save shows 21/24 levels and 126/144 starts. Nothing appears for me to change maps or something.

I love this game so much. Only game I've played every day for like a month. A couple things I would change but nothing major. Great game!!

I have no issues running this game on Win 11, Chrome browser. No lag, no crashes, no problems with saves. I believe that saves are local, so you do have to have your browser configured to allow that.
Brilliant ratings on level 20 and 21 are extremely difficult. 20 is easier than the original version (where it was the hardest level by most accounts), while 21 is nearly impossible. Fortunately, if you got the badges before the HTML 5 version replaced the original, they carried over. So I have the badge for getting all the Brilliants at night, but I'm not sure I could get it again. You'll definitely want to stock up on skulls!

Sadly the game hasn't been updated in years, so the bugs have never been patched i.e. memory leak that will eventually crash the game and progress will not be saved. You essentially have to complete the entire game to get all the badges as quickly as possible before the inevitable crash

The game frequently loses focus and pauses, which can cause problems when I'm about to click on an area that's right underneath the "quit" button. I know this is a known issue with HTML5 (and Flash emulation) but it seems to happen at least once a minute. It's a lot more frustrating than playing the mobile version.

I like the original a lot more. This feels less dark and immersive, and more geared toward kids. The larger towers and larger tree areas reduce the options of where to place towers and how many towers you can place, which reduces the strategy element. I feel like I'm just going through the motions placing towers where they're supposed to go instead of making difficult decisions. I liked how Crypts had wider range, now they are the same as dens which also reduces the strategic options. The graphics are more of that recent rounded juicy cartoony style that we see in all these ads for mobile games nowadays. The original games were epic and deserved a real remaster for playing on PC, but this is not a remaster, it's just a mobile game that I'm playing on a PC.

Am I the only one getting the "Pause screen" bug? It just randomly pops up while playing a stage. We are talking like 30-50 times during a match at random intervals, could be 2-3 in a row, then a minute all good, then back to screen pop-up. The thing is once in a while you click where the restart or quit buttons are and gg.

does anyone get this weird bug where the game is stuck at like 3x speed? i create a new game on this computer and the entire game runs at this crazy fast speed, even all the animations and everything

One of the more fun TD games. If you get frustrated with the occasional glitch (towers sometimes not properly targeting or spells sometimes not working, you may get frustrated when trying to get Brilliant on harder levels.)

A tip for perfect on level 21. You can stay in the first phase of the boss fight indefinitely. Build some ice towers and RJ towers where the swimmers from the ship go so that they don't touch a gem. Once you are confident you can stop the swimmers from touching a gem, speed it up and leave for a while. When you come back, collect all the gold, mana, and skulls dropped. You also will have a ton of scrolls you can use on the robots and big pirates. Upgrade your towers and then click like there is no tomorrow. You will have plenty of mana to spam attacks if the fog is preventing your towers from attacking

After so many years of never having beaten this game... I finally did it. I completed level 21 (albeit only a good... I can do better.). Level 42 for skills... aiming for level 50 to max them all out.
Such a classic game. Barely shows its age at all!
