I got a hint for you guys: Grinding isn't that bad if you powerlevel a bit. Just place towers judiciously, make liberal use of the fast-forward and attack buttons, and do your best to lose as few gems as possible. As long as you're grinding, there's no use being a perfectionist, especially when you get a significant amount of experience from kills.

I've already beaten this game on mofunzone.com... but the completionist in me demands i do it again for badges >< There should be a boss level where you have to fight your inner completionist and the more achieves you've unlocked the harder he is...

it never saves my game... every time i come back my profile is gone. never happened on the old one, anyone else have this problem?

Most TD games I've played do sort of a survival-type thing at the end of the round, you're prompted to either 'leave now' because you've completed the level objective or 'stick around' to basically defend against the hoarde until you've lost all the gems or something. This sort of solution would take care of everyone (myself included) who wants less tedious levels. Seriously, you gotta grind for those higher levels.

@rasik84 you may be deleting your cookies and stuff, which will most likely get rid of any stored information for Flash games; if you delete your browsing history, make sure you don't delete stored data along with it

for all of you saying make a upgrade hotkey that won't work because if you have 2 upgrades but only enough for 1 then the hotkey won't know which 1 to upgrade.

Pretty fun overall. I'm not a huge fan of TD's where you have to make tons of towers, so it's not my favorite. But it's fairly well done so I still like it. I'd recommend GemCraft to anyone who feels the same as I do

if you wanna maximize this game, add an autostart on waves, and an hotkey like U for upgrades while mousing over towers

The only problem is the grinding.. If you could make a sequel that doesn't involve grinding so much that would be awesome!!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Perhaps in a possible sequel how about upgrades to possibly increase the number of skill points we get per level, or another upgrade to allow Crypts to keep all charges upon levelling up as I'm rather annoyed that my Crypt with 3 Charges lost all the charges upon level up.

I found the new levels quite fun, like lots of you did. Personally, I have a few arguements about the "Overlord" (getting every power-up) achievement... I mean, it gives a bit of incentive to play the game more after all Brilliants have been received... but that's it. Otherwise, like has been said before, gaining the necessary experience is hard. It has the same problem other games like that do: turning the levels into chores rather than fun experiences... a good idea, but not done too well. I agree with RossTheBoss, there should be some experience bonus for the different ratings, too.

Spoiler: getting Brilliant on the last level seemed difficult until i placed Burning temples on both high ground slots, and nothing in front of them.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Needs an extra experience bonus just for getting brilliant. Had Brilliant on all but the last level and had only half the skill points I needed.

I think there should be some XP reward for the medals. For example: 1.0x for bronze, 1.25x for silver, 1.5x for gold. That would give some incentive to try for gold on a level when you've already gotten gold on it.

I think some kind of endless mode is necessary just so you can enjoy maxing out lots of towers, possibly sandbox mode?

Meteors are not the only way to beat boss ninjas.
1. A burning temple becomes a hellfire temple. temple right next to the map entrance can slow the ninja enough that he'll uncloak before he gets to your gems, just in time to be hit by all the towers you put there.
2. A fully upgraded ghost crypt becomes a banshee crypt. Banshee crypts have a 25% chance to strip away special abilities, including ninja stealth.
3. A fully upgraded chilling crypt becomes a fearful crypt. Fearful crypts have a 75% chance of causing fear with maxed out mind control - if it triggers, it's enough that the stealthed ninja will de-cloak before he touches your gems.
4. Any crypt with maxed out ice mastery has a 25% chance of freezing an enemy. Ninja stealth doesn't kick in until after they thaw, so with enough supporting firepower, you can kill him. You just need to position your towers so that the crypt is the first thing to hit.

Experience based off damage is a flawed design because dps towers reach max level faster than support towers. Example: Two temple towers, same map, same spot, same setup for rest of towers (temple tower always gets first hit and attacks the longest); Evil Eye takes 39 rounds to hit max level. AoE tower takes 23 rounds to hit max level.
Support towers should gain a percentage of the damage done by other towers (ie. for evil eye, 30% of the damage done by towers while the target is under effect goes to evil eye).
